Charlotte Casiraghi, Dimitri Rassam and Beatrice Borremeo attended the opening ceremony, and the screening of "Jeanne du Barry" during the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Jeanne du Barry is biographical drama film written, directed and produced by Maiwenn, and Johhny Depp and Maiwenn are starring characters.
Beatrice Borromeo wore a dress by Christian Dior at the red carpet opening ceremony. Charlotte Casiraghi wore a dress from Chanel's A/W 2020 Haute Couture Collection.

it looks like they are dressed in costume for a very old Victorian movie. Terrible dresses!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree. Just yuck.

I prefer Charlotte's dress - mixed feelings about the Dior dress, "gothique" style, I would say.
ReplyDeletePauline
ReplyDeleteBoth gowns have stunning details and a beautiful silhouette. I also think that they are well styled and accessorised. However, I´m a put off by the colours clashing in Charlotte`s gown (the dark blue in the fabric vs the teal in the flower applique) and by the super-low sheer panel in Beatrice´s decolleté (too revealing and therefore cheapening the whole look; maybe it had worked if it wasn´t rectangular but triangular).
ReplyDeleteFor couture dresses, the fit is atrocious. Especially Charlotte's dress is wrinkled below the bosom. The other dress is made of grandmother's curtains and not very classy around the chest area either.
ReplyDeleteNatascha
I agree....as a brand representative you'd think more attention would be paid to the fit by Chanel.
DeleteThe Dior is ok from the back but the front is tacky.
Kim
Over the top dresses from both,
ReplyDeleteMabel
Charlotte resembles her mum more and more. The Chanel dress - the colour and the shoulder/neck part with the flowers are great and I get that it's supposed to create a contrast to the stiff, shiny fabric of the rest of the dress, but it doesn't work for me. If it were less stiff and shiny, the dress would be perfect I think. Beatrice's dress is wonderful with the exception of the decolletage, having your breasts hang out of your dress looks cheap even if you wear Dior.
ReplyDeleteNot all Dior is acceptable. In Italy we would say 'riescono con il buco”. Irene
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful lady's... Charlotte looking more and more like her mother. Just my opinion.. But I am not so sure if these dresses are the best fit for both these lady's.
ReplyDeleteI like Charlotte´s blu Chanel dress very much. Beatrice Borromeo´s Dior looks like she just walked out of The Gilded Age but forgot her corset . Too frilly and too much lace for my taste.

Charlotte supposed to be pregnant. What happened to the baby?
ReplyDeleteObviously it was either fake news or her pregnancy was lost. I hope it was the former and not the latter.
DeleteIs she? Really? I totally missed that.
DeleteBoth women are naturally attractive, quite beautiful women but these photos show money doesn't buy good grooming, elegance or style.
ReplyDeletePrincess Grace was stunningly beautiful but she also had style and elegance.
@ It’s Me.
DeleteI agree with what you have said, that is, “money doesn't buy good grooming, elegance or style.
My first thought when I saw the dress of Beatrice Borromeo, was that she is wearing a folkloric costume of Monaco.
The gown of Charlotte Casiraghi is interesting but seems to be off mark with the fitting.
I can imagine what the price tag must be on each of these gowns.
Hats off to Dior and Chanel
Well said @It’s Me 👍
DeleteTwo beautiful women wearing two of the uglist dresses I have ever seen. DIQ
ReplyDeleteSo true, DIQ!
Delete👍
DeleteEverytime I remeber how she was in her 20's, I always think that Charlotte's features are turning masculine as time passes by. Nevertheless, she's naturally classy. As for Beatrice... no need for that, such a terrible gown.
ReplyDeleteIn her 30's Charlotte weighed a little more and had a perfect oval face. She is quite thin now and her very square jaw is emphasized. She is still a beauty though especially at certain angles and with the right makeup and hair.
Delete@Cris, what a crass and rude comment.
ReplyDelete14:42 - why is the question "crass and rude"? I've been wondering myself about the pregnancy rumor. I'm glad someone asked, but we still don't have an answer. |Melanie|
DeleteI like Charlotte's dress. A pity the blue fabric does not fall very well. I think it has been adapted to fit her bosom but it does not work. The flower part is beautiful and so are her earrings. Beatrice's dress is beautifully made but it is over the top. It is not the first time Beatrice is showing her breasts.
ReplyDeleteBeatrice's golden beauty cannot save this busy mess of a gown. It fails on every level, imo.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte's dress looks perfect on the model, but the too-visible seams and the wrinkles kind of ruin it on the red carpet. And the fit is poor around Charlotte's waist area.
Charlotte's dress is from the Fall 2020 collection, which means that it was made two years ago. It's quite possible that her measurements have slightly changed during these years, which would explain the not-so-perfect fit. Such things happen.

Beautiful ladies, nothing positive to say about the dresses, the style or the smiles.
ReplyDeleteLuna
For couture gowns, they leave alo't to be desired. Charlotte's gown doesn't appear to fit perfectly, the wrinkled skirt part of the gown is a no. The overall look -- design of this gown Imo is very unappealing. She is a very beautiful woman, but to me she never appears to be well groomed or elegant, and I say that in the nicest way possible. I don't like her earrings or her hair, looks very lack luster and styled. Her makeup looks on point, very natural.
ReplyDeleteChristian Dior gown worn by Beatrice, goodness where to start, I feel enough has already been said, again a very unappealing gown. Her hair doesn't look nice and I don't like the earrings.
I was hoping for elegance and style, both ladies are beautiful in their own right.
Pity, she’s a beauty and is used to have good fashion show. But this time, sorry to say, big no to her gown … too much lace, showing too much …. and … hmm …just ugly.
ReplyDeleteHow dares Beatrice leave the house with a dress like that, so classless. . Better go naked.
ReplyDeleteReally! Hyperbole.
DeleteThis might the first time I have seen Beatrice in something left me scratching my head and wondering what in the world was she thinking--the neckline is awful and crocheted dress looks too much like Granny's crochet bag was stolen. Then her hair and jewelry look like she was was rushed to get dressed and said whatever. Very, very un-Beatrice.I can see some style choices somewhat similar to the time period of the dress but that doesn't make me like it any better. I actually like Charlotte's dress--rare for her Chanel choices--except the fit is, as it is all too often with Charlotte's Chanel choices, poor to say the least. The dress itself is pretty but Charlotte needs to invest in some foundation garments. Her earrings are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Charlottes gown looks stunning, Beatrice on the other hand I would see it looks better from the back, I think sometimes she is just trying too hard to be number one. Maybe she should just be herself, she is a beautiful young women. css.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad to see someone shares my view on the Chanel dress. I think it’s gorgeous, while accepting that it could fit better. I don’t like Beatrice’s dress on a number of levels. Two stunningly good looking ladies
DeleteAnnieM
No for both dresses, this is best they could do for Canne?
ReplyDeleteBoth Charlotte and Beatrice are beautiful ladies. Being brand ambassadors, I think they have limited chances to choose their dresses for certain events. I'd never have picked these two ones as my style is entirely different, but both ladies wear them well. I particularly love Charlotte's soft hairdo./Grace
