Princess Charlotte of Wales celebrates her 8th birthday today. The Prince and Princess of Wales released a new photo of the Princess on the occasion of her birthday celebrated on May 2. The photo was taken by the Princess of Wales in Windsor at this weekend. For the photo, Princess Charlotte wore a summer dress from Trotters.
The family lives in Adelaide cottage in Windsor's Home Park. The Princess attends the private Lambrook School near Ascot in Berkshire together with her two brothers Prince George and Prince Louis.
Trotters Frances Willow Sun Dress
Trop mignonne dans cette robe très fraîche ; on peut remarquer que la petite souris a dû passer. J'espère que cette journée particulière se sera bien passée, entourée par sa famille et qu'elle aura été gâtée !
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by little mouse?
Delete@ Anon13.03 a tradition to tell children that a little mouse came and took a tooth, and they get a little present to cheer them up waiting for a new one to come.
DeleteMy German friend used to refer to my then young granddaughter as "the mouse" (not to her face, of course, he called her by name). When I asked him why, he said it was a term of endearment to children. It eventually grew on me & I came to like it. |Melanie|
DeleteIn German, we often call children little mice (Mäuschen, Mauserl). :-) It's a term of endearment.
DeleteIsn't there a whole line of baby products with the name "Mäuschen," or something similar to the name? It could be worse. Here in the states we have whole laundry list of derogatory "terms of endearment" for our children with the number one being "kid" which technically is a baby goat. Hello! "Kid," "toe head," "rug rat," "crumb snatcher," "turd knocker," "troll," ... the list goes on and on. LOL!
DeleteAlways dressed like children that are much younger. Her brother on the contrary is dressed older than he is.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s a gorgeous dress for an 8 year old. Happy birthday Charlotte.
DeleteI don't think so...my daughter and her friends wear clothing similar in style to hears. They are the same age as Charlotte. Clothing is totally fine IMHO.
DeleteNo, that's appropriate for a little girl just turning 8. I don't agree with the people who dress little girls in a 'sophisticated' or tarty manner. Let kids be kids. As for George, he's only dressed in a suit when at a special event. Other pictures I of see of him, he dresses like every other kid,
DeleteSo cute with her big smile and her tooth gap! Happy Birthday to this adorable little princess!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Wishing her a very fun and enjoyable day (and lots of cake :) )

She looks so much like William at that age! Happy Birthday to her! Bea
ReplyDeleteInteresting how genes work, she looks like William's identical twin, and he looks exactly like his mother and yet she does not look like her grandma, princess Diana.
DeleteMissy, that’s so well observed! - AnnaLise
DeleteHappy Birthday to a beautiful young girl. She is dressed for her age, as are her siblings.
ReplyDeleteA very happy 8th Birthday to a sweet little girl. css
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, she looks so much like Prince William
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to such a sweet-looking little princess!!! What pretty sun dress she is wearing. Charlotte looks so much like her father at the same age. Cannot wait to see her at the coronation.

Is that her cousin Sienna picking an Easter egg from Charlotte’s basket? I believe so.

@ CH These children are the models who show the dresses for the brand "Trotters" not Charlotte and her cousin. Take a cup of strong tea and wake up.
