Natan Monki midi dress
Nice print, but the skirt is not good for her.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. The wide skirt does her no favours.
DeleteNice pattern and cut on the dress for QM. She seems so lovely but I do think her hair ages her and I wish she would get a more modern style and color.
ReplyDeleteYes, you may be right.

Bel imprimé mais la jupe n'est pas à son avantage ; plus près du corps, ce serait idéal pour sa silhouette !
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely dress and Mathilde looks good in it.
ReplyDeleteThe skirt is quite wide and flared, but with her height Mathilde wears this look well.

Agree
DeleteI agree. With her height she can handle the silhouette. I think she looks great.
DeleteThis type of dress does not look good on Q. Mathilde. It makes her look wide in the hips. A slimmer skirt would be much better. I agree with the comment about her hairstyle. It is really old fashioned and does her no favors.
ReplyDeleteNice dress that fits the Queen well but the whole look with hairdo and handbag is too 50´s for my liking. The hat in the last picture is dreadful.

Exactly my thought’s. I usually like retro inspired looks, but this is too much.
DeleteThe dress is quite nice, though the pattern is busy, the skirt is not flattering, the cut of it?
ReplyDeleteHelmet hair. Matronly dress does her pear-shaped figure a disservice. Amy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress except the skirt is too wide or bell-shaped. Mathilde is short-waisted and women like her need to wear a more narrow skirt, more of a true A-line, as the bell-shape emphasizes the issue. Streamline the fabric of the skirt and this is a great dress for her. However Mathilde looks lovely--especially in the photo with the little boy.

Nice pattern and color, but the skirt looks like a balloon, sorry just the way I see it. css
ReplyDeleteTake in the skirt to make it a pencil skirt and it would look great. As is -- no, Mathilde. Just, no.
ReplyDeleteI, on the other hand, love the 50's vibe, but do agree, she looks wider than she actually is

A frock that does the job but offers nothing else.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've seen this dress before. Would Queen Mathilde have worn it previously ?
ReplyDeleteTrue. It is a repeat, as you can see on the last picture when the Queen was wearing it with a hat. She wore that time back in 2020 while attending the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. Then she wore it again at that same year, during the Te Deum ceremony of the Belgian National Day 2020.
DeleteThank you Sherry.

Like so many of Natan's designs, the fabric of Queen Mathilde's dress is too stiff which creates the overly wide skirt. In spite of that, QM looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteQuite a matronly look - would prefer the dress with a more streamlined skirt as I quite like the print. Still, it looks much better than when she paired it with a Puritan hat which just looked silly.
ReplyDeleteNice. Nothing startling, just simple, elegant lines and a nice print. I would love Mathilde to update her hairdo, nothing as extreme as Charlene sports but something a little bit shorter would lift her game.
ReplyDeleteShe's wearing Natan. Enough said.
