On the occasion of the wedding of Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg and Nicolas Bagory that took place on April 29 in Bormes-les-Mimosas, France, the Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg released new photos taken during the religious wedding ceremony. Princess Alexandra got married to Nicolas Bagory with a religious wedding ceremony held at Saint Trophyme Church in Bormes-les-Mimosas, France on April 29, 2023.
Very nice pictures! I must say MT's dress looks better here, one gets even used to the huge "lettuce".
ReplyDeletePauline
Sorry Pauline I do not think it is a lettuce at all but curly kale. If I could I would enclose a picture of some kale. I too agree that if that object was atop an A-line dress and a bit smaller she might have got away with it.
DeleteNalerina, I was just quoting someone's post here where it was described as "lettuce". Whatever it is, it's a bit too much.
DeletePauline
Haaaaaaaaaaa! Y'all got me rolling with laughter! "Curly kale."
DeleteEuropa
Her dress is quite strange and not flattering
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteThe bodice of the dress reminds me of a parachute!
DeleteI agree. I don't understand it
Delete"The bodice of the dress reminds me of a parachute!"
DeleteOr a straight jacket. :-o
I say Alexandra’s gown looks as if she was injured in a mass shooting, and the emergency-room team hastily wrapped her in bandages so they could tend to the more seriously wounded. I’m American, I can’t help being morbid now that there’s no gun-free place in this country.
DeleteAside from that dress they are an adorable couple!
ReplyDeleteShe's lovely but that wedding dress is really not attractive. Kim
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful event but they need to hire professional fashion stylists urgently. FOR REAL.
ReplyDelete👍
DeleteYou should apply for the job!

Nice pictures, I am surprised to see so few pictures of Nicolas' parents. They are hardly mentioned.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, it’s as if they’re not part of the family.
DeleteThe mother is there her name is Manon Bagory and the siblings are also there but not the father . The family name sounds like egyptian origin more than french .
DeleteNicolas's mother is called Gwenaëlle, a name of Breton origin.
DeleteI read the name comes from Pays Basque (ie North of Spain)
There are wedding photos of the groom's family (mother, siblings) together with the grand-ducal family, published by the court!
DeleteI haven't seen any photos of Nicolas' father so far - is he dead or what has happened? Nobody seems to notice.
Pauline
DeleteI cannot imagine that a difference in "social level" could be the reason. The father hasn't been mentioned at all, was he? Only the mother and his brother.
DeleteIch denke, sie ist bereits schwanger.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly. Her dress ist ver unflattering but cleverly. designed to leave some flexible room for her belly. I bet she is already expecting!
DeleteNo wonder she is over the moon!
Connie
It could be. The main thing is they look exceedingly happy together!
DeleteFrühere Bilder zeigen dass sie nie so dünn war.
DeleteWhen I read these this type of speculation it does not surprise me that Nicolas and Alexandra refused to do engagement interviews. I doubt that this discreet (reportedly) very religious young couple are already expecting a child. Anything is possible, but this is not likely. Best wishes to them.
DeleteActually that's what I thought too. Not necessarily that she is pregnant but that the dress makes her look pregnant (early stage of pregnancy). If that's the purpose of the dress, the design makes sense. Otherwise it would be rather weird.
DeleteLovely, happy couple. I just wish her dress did not have that lower criss-cross design. I does not look good from any angle. Pretty tiara and I love the long veil. The groom looks a bit disheveled in a too big morning suite and unpressed trousers.
ReplyDeleteLadyofthemanor
Of all the charming gowns this beautiful bride could have had. Still...she is a beauty, and her lovely, genuine smile and countenance radiates warmth and kindness on her special day. Same with the civil wedding ceremony last week. I wish this happy couple all of life's best.
ReplyDeleteI love the family group photo. They all look wonderful assembled that way, (as opposed to individually, as in the earlier photo set).

Maria Teresa with her enormous bright green rosette and sash dominates the group photo. Alexandra, who should be center stage is pushed to the background. It probably wasn’t intentional but it certainly was a mistake.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Talk about mother who steels the brides day. I think MT should have toned it down a bit.
DeleteGorgeous photos of the bride and groom!!! Alexandra and Nicolas exuding such love and happiness it is jumping right off the screen. While I will never like the wedding gown that doesn't in any way detract from what a beautiful bride Alexandra is--her veil and tiara are beautifully matched. I love that in the family photo you can that Stephanie and Guillaume brought little Prince Francois!!!
ReplyDeleteJanet
It is little Charles !!
DeleteBoth were there - Prince Charles and Prince Francois.
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful bride but that dress is not flattering at all. Best wishes to the couple
ReplyDeleteLovely family photos. Even Maria Teresa’s bizarre outfit looks better in the group photo. So sweet to see that baby François Henri was there, too! I don’t know what to say about the bridal gown. I’ll just focus on how happy she looks and wish the couple the very best
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. The more I look at this bridal gown, the more I dislike it. The double criss cross is so unattractive. Its not flattering, the side view of this dress, adds bulk. GD MT, I am sorry to say, but I have never seen anything quite so bad.
ReplyDeleteIf happiness could be boxed up, everyone could enjoy it, as well. I wish them both the best for their future together. css
ReplyDeleteNow that we can see the full length photos, I still think the groom's mother is the best dressed. She also looks amazingly young for a woman who must be in her 50s (given that he is 34) I still like the neckline of the bride's dress but wish that the ruching had remained only on the bust area and then draped from there. She looks just gorgeous and so happy. What about the suddenly grown up Princes Gabriel and Noah? I
ReplyDeleteI guess there is no fashion guide that says dress details must be smaller than your head when next to your head?? I just assumed that most people would not want their actual head to be dwarfed by a giant green “head” of lettuce…broccoli…kale… There was a craze for enormous collars on court dress a few centuries ago…but now—at a rather smaller family wedding?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a cabbage patch doll sitting on her shoulders, The Grand Duchess wears clothes that do not suit her short stature, she seems to wear clothes that she likes but do not compliment her! Fitzhugh
DeleteI saw the family pictures on the officila website of the Luxembourg court; But I am shocked that the siblings of the groom are identified just by their surname Arnaud, Thibault, Manon, Ivan, Juliette and not with thei family names! Really not fair!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for this beautiful, low key princess. She is over the moon with her handsome and brilliant new husband. Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteMT is wearing a jumpsuit
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry y'all but, that is a butt ugly wedding dress! Is she trying to hide a pregnancy? Was this a shotgun wedding?! I honestly don't understand why ANYONE would think this a flattering dress!
ReplyDeleteAnd is the mother-of-the-bride trying to steal the show or what?! "Hello MT, it's the bride's (and groom's) day, not yours." Wow.
Kudos to Stephanie for getting dressed up and showing up just a few weeks after having a baby. It would have been perfectly understandable if she had decided to skip this - especially since MT is wearing enough dress for two people! Girl!
Europa.
I guess there's no worry of knock-offs and imitations of this wedding dress. It will always be "unique" unto itself.
ReplyDeleteEuropa
The wedding dress is apparently by Elie Saab. It's a "recreation" of an existing Champaign colored dress that is off-the-shoulders, long sleeved, with a completely different skit that has a slit. It actually looks pretty good - not great, but much better than this wedding dress. It just amazes me that, with all the Elie Saab gowns to choose from and or have altered just for you - this is the one she picks? Really? But, her day, her choice. (Shrug.)
