On April 11, 2023, King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the celebration of the bicentenary of Ateneo de Madrid. Ateneo de Madrid is a private cultural institution located in Madrid. Its full name is Ateneo Científico, Literario y Artístico de Madrid (Scientific, Literary and Artistic Athenæum of Madrid). At the end of the event, the King and Queen visited the exhibition titled "Dos siglos buscando la luz".
The Ateneo has managed to create its own identity in Spanish culture, as an entity without an alternative of its kind for two centuries and as a society of debates and intellectual and creative experimentation. It has also functioned as an academic and intellectual work center.

DeleteThe Queen is looking very beautiful indeed.

Absolutely! Beautiful as always.

Beautiful dress from the queen. I wish she had better undergarments though.

vous parlez de quoi exactement ????
DeleteExactly, just a change of the bra colour and everything will be great!
DeleteThe dress is beautiful. I was a bit surprised by the belt as I don't think it was intended to have one. At least the Queen picked a very thin one. Love how her earrings match the design of the dress.

I totally agree.
DeleteThe belt is actually a really bad choice. It cuts the pattern in the worst spot and destroys the entire fluidity of the outfit.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress, but I think I prefer it without the belt (which cuts across the flower pattern).
ReplyDeleteJudy.
The Queen looks beautiful in this knit dress, but the belt does not work, cuts the pattern of the flower. Love her earrings.
ReplyDeleteGreat look for Q Letizia and she knows it. css
ReplyDeleteGuess I'll go out on a limb here--I don't like this dress. I understand that others like it but all I can like is the style. I do not like the giant flowers--especially on the queen because she is so petite. I am glad she added the belt because I think without the belt, the lack of definition would make her look like she was wearing a sack (bet she could make a sack look great too). However, Letizia looks gorgeous as always.

Totalmente de acuerdo. No me gusta nada el vestido. Por alguna razón me resulta un estilo anticuado.
Delete@Janet, Please have a look at pics 1, 6, 7 (I exclude pics where they are all seated), Letizia is well in the average height compared with other adults ! BUT King Felipe is so tall and gives therefore a wrong impression. "So petite" is therefore not appropriate.
DeleteOh for goodness sake! Then she is slight in build if not in stature - the point for the flowers remains the same. Why can't people stop policing other people's vocabulary?
DeleteLovely - although along with several others, I don't think the belt is necessary.
