On April 17, 2023, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended a business dinner arranged by Creative Denmark at The Medelan held for representatives of various companies from Denmark and Italy. The Crown Princess visited Milan for a business promotional campaign focusing on Danish design solutions. The Princess wore a purple midi dress by Prada.

Mary has had this purple dress for years, lovely to see it again. Love the color, and it's a versatile piece./Grace
ReplyDeleteAgree with you. Gorgeous dress in a great colour.
DeleteMost times I donot like purple, but this is a very nice purple.
ReplyDeleteShe should leave the sleeves down, this reminds too much going to do the dishes,

She is always perfectly dressed. A real life queen.
ReplyDeleteI hope it’s because of a chilly evening that she is wearing the jacket , otherwise she should have worn the dress alone.

I totally agree. She’s worn this dress before and it was styled better. This dress with its deep v neck shouldn’t be paired with a business blazer. They just don’t work together. Strangely, this is 2 days in a row Mary scored a fashion miss. She’s my favorite royal and usually I think she dresses perfectly. Maybe her stylist is on vacation?
DeleteAgree !!
DeleteTo shinystuffbuff: If you don't like it, OK - but it does not automatically mean that this is a "fashion miss" or that poor Mary is lost without a stylist (do you know if she has one at all?). The point is, not every jacket is a business jacket. This one is a very elegant one-buttoned - and a collarless jacket. So in this case, the V necklines of dress and collarless jacket are beautiful together. (-Ann.)
DeleteMaybe she does not need a stylist all of the time because she may be pairing items a stylist originally selected and I imagine Mary has excellent taste to do so on her own from time to time. I agree with you (-Ann.)
DeleteUne robe qui semble très élégante mais sans la veste, j'aurais pu mieux apprécier sa silhouette !
ReplyDeleteGreat sophisticated look ... CP Mary perfect al always ... love it ...
ReplyDeleteC.P. Mary looks so pretty. I love the purple dress and shoes but I agree with other people that the black jacket just doesn't work with this look.
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely and elegant.
ReplyDeleteI don't like dress + jacket, and this is not the exception. But again would be impossible to pleased everyone

Agree with you. I don't like the dress (colour, cut) nor the jacket.

Great look and very nice color. css
ReplyDeleteto -Ann- I have the right to my opinion. And in this case I definitely think this jacket does not belong with this dress. Mary has worn this dress very successfully styled before, just not this time. It's a beautiful dress and fits her to a T. And the blazer is perfectly tailored to her figure. But they don't work well together. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteShe looks terrible what is it with the dark top. The dress is okay as are the shoes. The hair?(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteMary looks marvelous! I love this purple dress and am so hapy to see it again.
ReplyDeleteJanet
To the people saying should of worn the dress without the jacket… For goodness sake she went to a meeting not a fashion parade…
ReplyDeleteI love the color of her dress. Very eyecatching.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind dress+jacket worn together. But. With longer jackets, our legs will look a lot shorter than the top half of our bodies. For this dress the jacket is too long and it seem to swamp her.

I like the dress but I think it might have been better on a trip to promote Danish design to have worn a Danish-designed dress! Ah well, small thing.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is lovely and the jacket is good but the two pieces do not work together. The overall look just ends up looking droopy and unfortunate. However, the outfit was appropriate for the event and the (possibly) chilly weather.
