Buckingham Palace has released a new portrait of King Charles and Queen Camilla taken by Hugo Burnand last month in the Blue Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace. Buckingham Palace has also shared new details ahead of the King's coronation that will take place on May 6. During the coronation, Prince George of Wales will serve as a Page of Honor alongside Queen Camilla's grandsons, Freddy Parker Bowles, Gus Lopes and Louis Lopes.
The palace has also shared the official coronation invitation, which will be sent to over 2,000 guests for the service at Westminster Abbey. Camilla will from now on be known as Queen, according to the Palace's statement on the official invitation to King's coronation. Queen Consort will officially be named Queen Camilla at King Charles III’s coronation next month. Camilla's “Consort” title has been thus dropped on the formal invitations, paving the way for her to be known simply as Queen Camilla.

ReplyDeleteI love the art on the invitation. All the flowers and insects, strawberries and leaves change the formality to something that feels happy and friendly and real. My great wish for this king and queen is that they can help us all focus on what really matters towards human and nature’s peace and health. (Jenny)
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful, colourful, intricate invitation focusing on the natural world, I love your words and sentiments, and I completely agree with you.

How happy they look
ReplyDeleteKing Charles looks elegant and so does QC Camilla, but unfortunately she always wears the same style of dress a bit like a uniform.
ReplyDeleteThe photographer did a great job, even if the photo was edited with Photoshop, the fact remains that it is a very beautiful portrait of Charles and Camilla, they both look radiant.

Yes, thanks to the photographer Camilla looks much younger, no wrinkles, smooth skin (at the age of 75!) While people here von the blog are adamant that for instance Q. Sylvia had "work" done to her face (meaning: plastic surgery) they are excited about this new portrait. Without photoshop you can easily see for yourself that her face is filled with deep wrinkles that her mouth part looks somehow strange, like the mouth of people who have lost all their teeth (which is of course not the case with Camilla). But I don't think, criticism of C. and referring to some facts are welcome on this forum. She seems to have a lot of fans.

Agree !!
DeleteI understand the 'uniform' approach. I do that for my job.
DeleteBecause it satisfies her and any other dress style would not fit a well. I also thought of the photoshop, so obvious.
DeleteO.K. you can call me old fashioned because I am.
DeleteFor me a zip is for the back or side of a dress, not the front.
Maybe on a teenage, 'hip-hop' style, a zip on the front would be quite trendy and fashionable.
Sie sieht toll aus. Die Farbe lässt C strahlen.
ReplyDeleteNun ist es raus Königin, oh ....😉

Agree with Mary T. This dress style suits Camilla, it minimizes her upper body part (large breasts) a bit, it hides the fact that she no longer has a slim waist (quite understandable, given her age) - you can see this style on many of her dresses, even evening gowns (there without the front zip, of course). Blue is a good colour for her - and she has good legs.

A happy couple in blue. Charles looks very handsome. Not a double brested jacket as often, which becomes him. Wishing them lots of success as King and Queen of the UK.
ReplyDeleteThey are just glowing these two. I guess that is what happiness does.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that they have dropped the consort part. I can't wait to watch the coronation.

Lovely looking old couple, but no hands in the pocket, please.
ReplyDeleteWhy ever not? It's 2023, not 1923.
DeleteNo one's life is going to be affected at all if his hands are in his coat pockets.

Beautiful portrait of the King and Queen. Queen Camilla (finally) looks marvelous in her blue dress--blue is such a perfect color for her. Love how they are dressed in similar colors. The invitation is stunning! What a beautiful treasure. I haven't seen other invitations to previous coronations but I feel this one reflects Charles' artistic side as well as his love of the natural world. I am so excited to be able to watch the coronation!

Lovely photo. I like the matching shades of blue. Both looking good here.

I agree Anon 9:13. All it does is ruin the pockets on his jackets. It is a decades old habit.
ReplyDeleteA Head of State with his hand in the pocket in an official pic is a big NO. It is simple etiquette.
DeleteStrongly disagree Anon 05:45. This is a relaxed portrait of a happy couple. This isn't a formal State portrait at the coronation, or with other dignitaries. It is informal, and nothing says that more than the monarch in a familiar pose that he has become known for and associated with over decades by his subjects. Perhaps save your 'big NO' and etiquette rules for another occasion.

I don't know what to make of that invitation. Looks like an invitation to a child's birthday party.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I feel you are correct in your assessment, plus her blue dress looks like a dressing gown, and he should have been wearing a new suit and tie.
DeleteI believe you should go to the royal website and see the explanations on many details of this invitation for yourself. It has nothing, nothing at all, to do with artwork for a children's event.
DeleteLove the artwork on the invite, it is full of symbolism and the King's love of nature.

Camilla looks good in blue. I am so looking forward to this Coronation I read the list of the pageboys. Both families are well represented. This World right now is so crazy, we need something special to forget the fruitcakes, at least for a few hours. css
ReplyDeleteI like invitation. It harks back to a bygone time. With the emphasis on nature and rebirth.Well thought out. It’s a bit of history that people will be looking back on in years to come.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of TM’s. Also lovely they are having both their families participate in the coronation. Like most families today, they are a blended family.
That dress. Nice color but the zip front looks cheap. I just can't stop thinking it looks like my grandma's house coat.
ReplyDeleteAw, lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. They both look good and happy.
ReplyDeleteDo Photoshop also do their product in the form of a cream in a tube that you just rub into your face, for example, three times a day?
ReplyDeleteIf so, I'll be one of their biggest customers.
Photoshop has done wonders to Camilla’s wrinkles and complexion.
I'd love some of that "me too" cream if it exists.
Lovely picture. Camilla looks great in this colour and matches wonderfully with Charles' tie, they really are a good team, I think. Had to giggle a bit at the hand in the pocket. It seems to be the King's signature move these days, but it always reminds me of Napoleon :D The invitation is beautifully designed - wouldn't mind receiving one myself!

Great picture. Lighting is perfect and the photograph has been developed very stylishly. You can still see their age but it is not emphasized in the picture. And they look very happy, which probably is the most important thing.
