DeleteWait...what?
ReplyDeleteYou mean this is happening in less than a weeks time??? I can just see everyone scrambling to run out and buy a hat. Looking forward to the coming weekend.

Knowing the scale of an Arab wedding, the guests will have known for quite some time but it will probably have been embargoed for public release due to security reasons. Most Jordanian royal weddings aren't filmed like in Europe so they're not public events in that way (you tend to see a film of a bit of the party, or a parade but I guess there's only a possibility of that happening for Hussein).
DeleteThanks Anon 16:58. I was actually only partly joking. :)
DeleteI knew as you outlined, and for the same reasons too, that this wedding would get a lavish but far more private treatment than probably that of the upcoming future king, and that neither will be globally publicized like European Crown royal weddings are. I also suspect that apart from leaders and dignataries from the Arab world, few to no European royals will be in attendance at this wedding, though Husseins may have more out of duty and obligation. I was just surprised that the announcement came under a week of the event itself, but I'm not really that surprised. Thanks again anyway.
I wish both Iman and her fiancé a happy wedding day, and an even happier life together.

Maybe they've started their family and now the wedding's running late 😁 It was like that in my days.
DeleteThe main problem was to find a dressmaker who could run up a wedding dress in a limited period of time and get the cake iced quickly so that the icing was dry for the wedding breakfast.😀
@Deadeggs: naughty hubby! Siv
DeleteDear Siv. Most (if not all) hubbies are naughty at sometime in their lives.
DeleteIt's another example of "no complain, no explain"
Just have to hope they don't set the dog off barking when they come in 🙄.

ReplyDeleteWhat fab and a bit unexpected news!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful couple.
I can only imagine the scale of this wedding, and the grandeur. Plus, with the next one coming in June. Congrats to the beautiful couple. Hopefully we will be treated to some fantastic pics. The one of her in the tiara is spectacular!

Auguri a questa coppia molto bella!

She will look a beautiful bride, cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteActually she looks just like the girl who works in my office. Hoping he has got a good job as mum and dad can foot the bill for only so long. I like the tiara. They seem a happy couple.(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteHe owns a Venture Capital company in NYC and comes from one of the wealthiest families in Latin America. I think she'll be fine!
DeletePic of them as a couple: gorgeous and natural. Solo pic a bit too posed, not a fan of head tilted back, and bra outline is markedly noticeable through the t-shirt, lovely smile though. Tiara pic could have been so much better. The scale of the tiara overwhelms her young, delicate face. Something better needed to be done with her hair, a voluminous updo perhaps, and the black background is too stark even if the intention was to off-set the tiara. She is a natural beauty, radiating happiness. Hope she stays with simple elegance. She's the type where less is more. S.M.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely--and the tiara photo is marvelous.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Waiting for the day next week. She will look stunning, I am sure. Her mothers Tiara is wonderful. Congratulations to the young couple. css
