Queen Silvia attended the opening of the AD/PD 2023 International Conference on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases and related neurological disorders. This premier gathering of experts from around the world takes place in Gothenburg from March 28th to April 1st, 2023. The Queen also visited the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Mölndal to receive information about the latest Alzheimer's research being conducted in Sweden.
I know it is a fashion forum here, but allow me to say: Having a family member with Alzheimers, i am so grateful, that queen Silvia is so surportive, it really helps a lot.

Thank you
DeleteYes, I think you are right. Sylvia's mother suffered from Alzheimer' disease in her last years.

Agreed, me too. It's a tough road. Thoughts to your family Anna.
DeleteAs for Queen Silvia, she looks lovely.

Thank you so much for your kind words, worms my heart.

She is nearly eighty and doesn't look her age. Slim and elegant.
ReplyDeletePauline
She does not look her age because of the 'work' she had done to her face (look at photos of her before the work) and her hair being colored. I think she should start to add gray highlights, as this color does not go well with her skin tone anymore. Edwina
DeleteLove Queen Silvias style, it’s colourful, simple and classic without being boring. Cannot believe she’s almost 80.

Fully agree with Pauline and Aa
ReplyDeleteTimeless elegance,

Beaucoup de simplicité dans sa tenue classique qui convient bien à son âge !
ReplyDeleteI the the Queen looks wonderful for her age, sure she has had work done, but still looks after her figure. Why not if you have the money, look after yourself. Why let your hair go grey? never she takes pride in herself and it is wonderful to see. I love her pant suit.
ReplyDeleteIt is not often we see her in pants, but this looks very good. The jacket softens the outfit.

To Edwina: Well, many society ladies half Sylvia's age undergo plastic surgery or have her hair coloured. I don't know anything about Sylvia's "work" being done to her face, but she certainly has her hair dyed, she has good and strong hair. She hasn't put on weight as many women do over the years. And she can move around, easily, without using a cane or walking slowly.

Perfectly stated, Pauline! My own grandmother had few wrinkles when she died at 80 years of age and her deep chestnut brown hair only began to gray when she was in her 70s. She always took care of her skin (hats, scarves, gloves, and moisturizing cream 2 times a day). To talk about a person having plastic surgery by assumption is wrong on so many levels.
Deletelike the jacket very much but surprisingly I don't think it looks that good with the white blouse. I actually find it quite jarring. Perhaps a pinkish or lilac tone that is in the jacket would look better.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks lovely, I like this ensemble, she looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteDespite the work done on Queen Sylvia’s face and her dyed hair, which makes her features look harsh, she still looks her age. Just look at her neck and hands.
ReplyDeleteMany women I know put on weight for medical reasons and are very unhappy about their figures. In this respect, she is lucky.

Reply to Virginia: I partly agree with you. Her neck clearly shows her age. But I don't think, her face looks harsh - look at the photo of her face. And I don't think, she had plastic surgery - you can see a lot of wrinkles around the eyes and changes of skin colour like small brown patches - all this is a sign of aging.

The old lady in the wheelchair is a "superdonator" who has donated 3.500.000 SEK to the childrens hospital named "The Queen Silvia Childrens Hospital" in Göteborg, Sweden
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia looks wonderful here--what a great color for her. What a great cause to lend her support to as so many people and their families suffer greatly with this terrible disease.

My husband has Parkinson’s disease, he is about 63 years old it was diagnosed 2 years ago. It was getting more difficult to live for him, because of stiff muscles he couldn’t even move. Mirapex and levodopa medicines were given, but didn’t give much relief. He couldn’t eat food without choking. I thought this might be the last stage and the medications he was given did not help at all, so I started to do alot of research on Ayurveda treatments, I was introduced to Health Natural Centre and their Parkinson’s Ayurveda Protocol. He started on the Ayurveda Treatment last year, his symptoms gradually diminished including his vocal cord spasm, Muscle Weakness, Tremors and Difficulty with swallowing. Reach them at naturalherbscentre.com , he is getting active again since starting this treatment, he is able to walk again ( down the street and back ) he has also resumed exercising to strengthen muscles!! God Bless all PD Caregivers. Stay Strong, take small moments throughout the day to thank yourself, to love your self, and pray to whatever faith, star, spiritual force you believe in and ask for strength. I can personally vouch for these remedy but you would probably need to decide what works best for you.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely look again today. css
