Queen Mathilde and Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium are making a three-day working visit to Egypt between 14 and 16 March. On the second day of their visit to Egypt, the Queen and Princess Elisabeth visited the tomb of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun, among other places. They also visited archaeological sites where Belgian universities are active.

CP Elisabeth looks smashing in her outfit and smile!

She does!
DeleteMother not bad either!
Mabel
I agree. The outfit is perfect. Plus she has a relaxed, natural warmth, so much like her mother. (V.M.)
DeleteWonderfull! Both so relaxed. Elisabeth does have the X factor for new royals!
DeleteLove Elizabeth’s style! So pretty and stylish at the same time!!! Her Mum is gorgeous as always! A
ReplyDeleteGreat looks from the Belgian ladies! Glad to see the walking shoes were out from the start--and both outfits look good with the shoe choices.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Wow I wore the same jumsuit to my safari trip too. Guess this is a staple outfit for those travelling to Africa.
ReplyDeleteTenue adéquate sous le soleil égyptien pour toutes les deux ; elles ont sorti le grand jeu avec leurs boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteThe are really nicely clad, but why call this a ”working visit? What is the work? They are visiting historic sittes.
ReplyDeleteThe shirt and pants are very nice but the dress with the tight belt seems uncomfortable.
@ Anonymous 06:58 16/3. It is called a working visit to mark the difference with a state visit. They were also there to open the exhibition around Queen Elisabeth of Belgium which is CP Elisabeth's great great grand mother. They went to the places were QE was 100 years ago and they also visited the excavations by Belgian universities where the professors and students are working.
DeleteSome of the pictures (which can be seen on Monarchie.be) are taken on the same spot where her great great grandmother Queen Elisabeth of the Belgians stood 100 years ago. It is amazing to see the old pictures next to the new ones. I love the outfits of both Queen Mathilde and CP Elisabeth. Very appropriate for the climate and the environment. There is a video where both royal ladies are climbing the rocks. Lucky they have chosen good shoes to do that. The brands of their clothes are for QM dress : the Belgian brand Scapa and for CP E: pants and shirt by ba&sh.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the hint to the royal website, really interesting (wish i where there...)
DeleteThey both look great, cool and dressed for the occasion
ReplyDeleteLadyofthemanor
They both look very good, appropriate for the climate and surroundings. Unfortunately, Mathilde's dress is too tight around the bust.

So lovely to see mother and daughter at a working trip, discovering Egypt, its history and seeing all those beautiful places.
ReplyDeleteI really like both of the outfits very much, especially Elisabeth's outfit is so lovely, showing off her gorgeous figure.
Kaarin
They both look great and correctly dressed for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteThe ensembles fit in well with the country and its climate.
With the photos of mother and daughter together, I can almost see a comparison of a baby bird being taught how to fly by its mother.
This visit is to commemorate the visit of the namesake of Elisabeth 1 year ago and more a PR related thing ( in private they visited these regions more frequent).
ReplyDeleteMaybe also feeling the spirits of their ancestors.
Elisabeth has made an impact on me: I want this/these blouse/trousers too!
Mathilde is maybe a bit matronly top-heavy and a trousers look would be better on her and shakes that stiffness.

DeleteBoth outfits are great and CP Elizabeth can most definitely wear this outfit and still look smashing. Q Mathilde's dress is gorgeous ~MS~
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see the tradition from one generation to the next of the interest in these historical sites as Queen Elizabeth of Belgium began so many years ago. Queen Elizabeth started the Egyptological Foundation which has become one of Europe's most extensive Egyptological libraries: See this short article for more information on the Queen Elizabeth of Belgium: A very interesting read. https://royalcentral.co.uk/europe/belgium/the-queen-who-inspired-belgiums-latest-royal-tour-186785/
ReplyDeleteThe outfits Queen M and her daughter were wearing were spot on for the climate, and the exploration of this fascinating history. Edwina
@Edwina : Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I think that Princess Elizabeth is going to be a pillar stone to the Royal House of Belgium.
DeleteCP Elizabeth looks excellent in these casual clothes. I would love an outfit like this. The Queen looks appropriately dressed for the climate. Great to see them on tour.
ReplyDeleteBoth RL look very good. css
