Princess Iman of Jordan wed Jameel Alexander Thermiotis in a ceremony in Amman’s Beit Al-Urdon Palace, which was attended by the royal family and a number of dignitaries. Princess Iman is the first daughter and the second child of King Abdullah and Queen Rania. She has one older brother, Prince Hussein and younger siblings Salma and Hashem.

The bride opted for a traditional white wedding dress with a sheer lace panel at the neckline, lace-cuffed sleeves and a flowing skirt. She wore a bridal veil and Chaumet tiara that reportedly belonged to her grandmother, Princess Muna, and held a posy of white flowers for the religious ceremony and the exchanging of wedding rings.

Beautiful bride. And what a beautiful yellow dress for Princess Iman's future sister-in-law.

What a beautiful bride and groom. Nice gown tame, we need to remember she is from a Muslim Country. I must say Jameel looked really good and so happy. The gowns of the guests were stunning not over the top. No Euopean Royals there, I wish the newlyweds, the best for their future together Now we are waiting for the CP to wed. Looking forward for June. css

Isn't it nice to see a bride who doesn't have all her bits hanging out? Iman looked so beautiful in her lovely gown...all the ladies looked wonderful in their attire. Much happiness to the couple!

Iman's dress has a beautiful fit, the lace looks nice in the sleeves but the bodice is not my favorite, would have preferred a design without the lace, or at least less of it, and a less geometrical cut. With the lace veil it's a bit too much lace to my liking./Grace

    4. Yes, refreshing to see. I think that today’s wedding dress makers start with the bottom and use most of the material for the skirt and train.
Then, if by chance, there's something left, they’ll run up a top just to cover the bits that hang out.

  5. The lace veil is simply stunning. Her gown from what I can see, is beautiful. The lace detail of the bodice and cuffs of her sleeves is perfect adding interest to a gown that is plain otherwise by the look of it, I love it.
I'm not sure about the Queen's gown, I would prefer to see a full length photo of her before commenting, a lot of gathering for my liking. The pink gown is very pretty and looks lovely. The crepe draped dress is very striking and unusual, the color suits her beautiful. Love the color choice of her earrings. Sitting you can clearly see her perfect posture.

I'm holding off until we get some full length pictures to decide but based on the top this could end up being my favorite royal wedding dress. That lace is gorgeous

  8. From what I could see I deem Princess Muna (the bride's grandmother) best dressed, closely followed by the groom's mother, and Princess Sarvath in her beautiful Saree.

    1. @DSC : From what I can see in the photos, the bride’s English grandmother, Princess Muna, is living up to her reputation of being a very stylish but conservative dresser.
She can be seen in photo N°2, on the left of the groom.
From what I’ve seen in another photo of the marriage, she seems to be wearing a long skirt with a separate top.
She is a young looking 81 year old but almost never stands out in a crowd.

    2. @Deadeggs, he is not the groom, he is the bride's elder brother, prince Hussein.

Wow, what a feast for the eyes! That wedding dress is stunning. Queen Rania, as well as all the ladies, look spectacular (as if I'd expect anything less.) Even everyone in the crowd looks wonderful. The groom looks so handsome, and happy. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness.

Iman looks stunning in her dress and veil! Timeless and appropriate, but the interesting details make it extra special. The other stand out is her future sister in law in that spectacular yellow gown and magenta(?) earrings…she looks gorgeous! Best wishes for a long happy marriage to the newlyweds.

Why did the eldest brother giveaway the bride? Isn't it supposed to be the father's job?

It could be different in Islam religion. What I know for sure is that the eldest brother has a big responsibility for his sisters, he must also look after them until they got married and make sure they don't loose their virginity before the wedding takes place. He must also keep his sisters away from other men than the one the parents have chosen. It causes sometimes big problems for Islamic immigrants living in the Western world where they are confronted with the Western way of living.

And who watched over and protects the virginity of the groom?
      Just kidding.

  15. Iman looked beautiful, but must say I found the wedding ceremony strange. Married while sitting on a sofa. I understand that it is my western lutheran life that affects me here. Just strange for an European, but interesting learning something new. Wishing them all the best in their new life together.

Queen Rania's dress is much more beautiful on herself than on the model. The bride's gown is stunning. I prefer princess Iman's sister in law (in the yellow dress) with curls in her hair. All the other ladies where so beautiful and worn 1st class gala dresses. ( I saw a video on the Dutch website "Nouveau.nl" where you see all the guests arriving and being welcomed by the king and queen).
