On March 23, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg attended the "Worldskills" and "Abilympics" event that is dedicated to people with disabilities, held at the Eurometropolis Exhibition Center in Metz. The event's name is a contraction from the English words "abilities" and "olympics".
Organized by the Abilympics Association in partnership with WorldSkills, the event gathered participants and visitors at the Eurometropolis Exhibition Center of Metz. From March 23 to 25, nearly 800 persons from the Grand Est region competed in several categories: food, industry, construction, automotive, catering, hairdressing, crafts and many others.
DRIES VAN NOTEN printed velvet coat
Jacket is great, however not with those pants, they make her look shorter and wider. Shame, all black under that would have made her look slimmer and taller, with longer pants of course.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely! MR

ReplyDeleteAgree with Tulipe33 about the hair. It's a 'like' from me.
DeleteFor the rest, zoot, I've got to go and sit on that fence again 😎
Absolutely lovely! As a short person myself I like her bold style.

This is a far too busy (and bulky, too) outfit for the Grandduchess. At least, she should have worn black trousers to it. The purple, although being featured in the jacket, is just too much. On someone much taller the whole ensemble might look actually good.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree. There's just too much going on and the overall look is chaotic
DeleteThe coordination is bad. GD Maria-Teresa should have worn black trousers like she usually does instead of wine red. The color of the shoes don't go either with the rest of the outfit. Worn like this the trousers ask for smaller legs.
ReplyDeleteEverything what she should not wear she is wearing.

Isnot this a bit of “I tried my big sisters clothes on”?
ReplyDeleteEvery item too big, and a terrible combination of colours.
I am sorry to say so, but she is very steady in making wrong choices,
Mabel
I like the colorful outfit and think it looks great on the GD! Shoes/boots are the only mis-note for me here, too light in color - black, charcoal, or a matching deep plum would have been more suitable.
ReplyDeleteOther quibbles are that the sleeves are over-long. Even if they are meant to drape over the hand, with the loose fit of everything else it simply looks like the blouse is 2 sizes too large for her. Also I would have preferred a slimmer pant leg, unfortunately wide pants are the current style. And the heavy chains around the neck are too much, fewer and less clunky would have served her better. S.M.
Strange combination of colours: wine red, green, black and white and camel (shoes) - maybe a bit too much.

And the necklace
DeleteThe clothes are too much of everything, esp cause she has no length. Wrong choice.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a child wearing her mother's clothes, they swallow her up. I think that purple color is lovely on her though. And her hair and makeup look fantastic.

Sorry but this outfit is a mess. The coat is great but the sleeves of her blouse coming through the sleeves of the coat throw off the style of the coat, making it appear too big. Speaking of too big--the coat should have been tailored to her height--it is too long for her. The pants are a big no--she should have paired the jacket with black pants with a slimmer leg profile and black shoes. Then the choice of a necklace--no, no, no. Too much when paired with the busy pattern of the jacket.

I like her outfit and the colorcombination very much. But everything is too big and long for her.

DeleteI do like the coat very much, even the color of the pants, is just that the proportions are so wrong, those pants won’t be flattering even on a tall person, with a little bit of tailoring for the coat, and a pair of straight pants, the outfit could’ve been a winner.

I agree with the majority she is consistently making the wrong choices for her frame.
ReplyDeletePlus the color combination is not the best either.
Oh well, very constant too het style

It hurts my eyes. Does she ever look at a mirror?
ReplyDeleteNice outfit and color. But maybe not the one outfit for her. css
ReplyDeleteDreadful collection of pieces that make her look shorter and wide. Too much fabric, pattern, color and even chains thrown at one look. She seems unable to grasp that less can be more. Bad taste.
ReplyDeleteI like the coat, just not the pattern on the fabric, the green silk blouse is lovely but the pants are not a good overall fit with this ensemble, regardless she looks happy and engaging.
ReplyDeleteWhere to begin: The chains dragging around her neck appear to drag her down, the jacket, though a nice print, is overwhelmed by the long sleeves of the blouse bursting out of each sleeve at the wrist area, looking totally mis-matched. The pants, are a horrid color to put with the jacket and blouse, are too wide and look like something a clown might wear. It combines to make her look thick, shorter than she is is, and bogged down by heavy chains around her neck. Instead of the mess she wore, a simple blouse under the jacket, with a slimming, narrow dark colored pant would have made her appear taller, and focus on earrings, instead of the clunky heavy chain necklace. ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect example of the outfit wearing the Grand Duchess instead of the Grand Duchess wearing the outfit.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely outfit but does not work for the Duchess. This look accentuate her height and unfortunately make her look boxy ~MS~
