Queen Maxima is making a four-day visit to the Kingdom of Morocco between March 20 and 23 in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. The visit will focus on fintech, inclusive green finance and the development of digital payment systems to improve financial inclusion. This is Queen Maxima’s first visit to Morocco in her UN role.
The Queen visited various communities to hear first-hand about the impact of financial services on people’s lives and financial health. In Rabat and Casablanca, Queen Maxima met with representatives from government, international development agencies, financial institutions and non-profit organisations.
Max Mara Tie Dye Cotton Denim Shirt Dress
Etro Multicolor Paisley Print Blouse and Skirt
But you knew u were going to a warm country, why the scarf and winter coat.

Because if she is going into the High Atlas Mountains it can be freezing.
DeleteBecause it was cold in the Netherlands, where she boarded the aircraft. She is NOT on a private jet like when she and the King travel on state business. She is on a discount carrier (you can see the name of it and all the passengers disembarking) because this is UN business, and so she would have to carry her own stuff just as you would when you travel to another country on a public airline.

Les couleurs bleu-cobalt/marine ? et moutarde s'harmonisent très bien pour Maxima ; je pense que ses cheveux ont bénéficié d'un petit coup de pouce !
ReplyDeleteThe blouse appears to be too casual to me for this event! Fitzhugh
ReplyDeleteI love this blouse dress, in I think denim? Esp. For a working visit. However summer shoes with open toe together with a thick scarf?? And sorry the hair is so awful messy.
ReplyDeleteAnd the dress is from Max Mara
ReplyDeleteIMO too "disheveled" for the event
ReplyDeleteNew cheekfillers
ReplyDeleteElisabeth
Yes, just like Princess Mary.
DeleteSomeone please get this woman a stylist (hair and clothing).
ReplyDeleteAgree, made my day!!! What about the King? Retired????

DeleteHow unfriendly! Maxima is very well dressed most of the time. Elegant and sometimes extravagant(bold colours and patterns that suit her). Her hair could be better. But she doesn't need self-styled stylists.

@18:23 - The king is not involved in high finance like Máxima is. Why must the king accompany her? |Melanie|
DeleteThe king does not accompany Queen Maxima because this is not a state visit but has everything to do with her work for the UN as Special Advocate for inclusive Finance for Development.
DeleteSad, this is how a Queen is seen in public representing not only her adopted country, but also the UN? Hair pathetic, denim dress way too casual, winter coat and scarf, yet opened toed sandal shoes. From the one distant photo, it also looks as if she is not wearing any stockings. Edwina PS: Wonder who put that monstrous pile of biscuits/cookies on a plate for a few people?
ReplyDeleteWhy so critical of a hardworking woman who travels this time not as a Royal but as a UN representative to work on inclusive finance? The day involved meeting with high level people but also poor people in the community - where being dressed down is far more appropriate. She arrives in the cool morning, and is out and about as the day heats up - so layers of clothes make sense. I find her amazing, particularly when she speaks on this topic, as she has such passion for it and from all accounts has made a big impact over a long time, with much of her work hands on and behind the scenes. Brava, Maxima.
DeleteWell said @Anon 21:44 : thanks.
DeleteEver seen Christine Lagarde or von der Leyen, very hard working women, seen so sloppy and unkempt?
DeleteHardworking is no excuse ar all!
Mabel
@ Edwina. That's the custom in Morocco to put a lot of food on the table for guests (in this case tea and cookies). On the pictures it is difficult to see how many people were there.
DeleteAgree 100% @Anon 21:44! Well said.
DeleteNot being critical, it is called being honest about a woman who wants to appear 'the focal point' of the royal stage, however, she misses the mark most of the time. Her smile is radiant, her intelligence not in question, though we are never privy to what she actually says in these meetings. What we are left with is her appearance, and compare her or not to other women in the same sort of position. I find it appalling for a Queen to appear like this. You do not see others in the country dressing even casually like Maxima, nor do you see them with unkept hair. Its a sign of disrespect for those who have taken time to make sure their appearance is proper. Edwina
DeleteJust done the dishes,
ReplyDeleteMabel
Another fail from head to toes.
ReplyDeleteI agree! MR
DeleteI agree, too!
DeleteAnd @ Anonymous20/3/23 21:44: "hardworking woman" LoL, in which world do you live? Hardworking??? LOL LOL LOL
Hard working? She and WA were away on holiday in 2022 for 15 weeks…..
DeleteElisabeth
I thought i will never say this about Maxima, but i miss the accessories!
ReplyDeleteLuna
Me too.
DeleteAnd her sister-in-law (Princess Laurentien) usually wears the decorations off the christmas tree as accessories.
Love them both 😁
To a small extent...me three, lol :))
DeleteShe went from too much to too little.
I do prefer the 'less is more' idea no doubt, but a little bit more would be fine by me.

Non c'è il re ad accoglierla?
ReplyDeleteRossella
No, the King is not there because this is not a Royal visit.
DeleteBravo Maxima. You show them that you're not just a pretty face.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean a woman with brains doesnot have to look good?
DeleteMabel
You can still be put together and look simple, especially with one’s hair. MR
DeleteEven designed for Max Mara, I don't like the dress, not flattering at all.
ReplyDeleteI’m in the minority, but I really like the arrival dress, however I’d change to closed toe shoes and either wear the coat and scarf or wear neither. As it stands it looks like a jumble of clothes. The Etro outfit is beautiful and suits Q. Max very well. The scraggly hair drags both outfits down though. That’s unfortunate. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks good in both these dresses, she looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so natural, so confident, she looks lovely, easy going and her style is perfect even his hair.
ReplyDeleteHow I wish Lalla Salma was there.
ReplyDeleteYes, but it is not a Royal visit. The UN meeting just happens to be in Morocco.
DeleteQueen Máxima looks beautiful and is very appropriately dressed for both occasions.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think she just arrived and had her coat and scarf with her when she took the plane in the Netherlands. I think she did not went to her hotel first.
DeleteWhy all the outrage because people are talking about her sense ( or lack there off) fashion? I don't ever comment on their character, personality or ridiculous rumors, why can't people accept that it's perfectly OK to critique their clothing as long as it's respectful. In my humble opinion, yes she needs an stylist or somebody with enough common sense to advise her. The Max Mara dress would be hardly flattering on anybody, however with hair properly coiffed like a nice ponytail, clean makeup and a pair of navy pumps, she could've looked passable. I do like the ETRO outfit, but not enough pictures to really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteBello il vestito di Etro.
ReplyDeleteRossella
I think she just needs to cut the hair. All these women have long hair now but few really have the hair quality for that length. I wish that the style now wasn't always emphasizing length, it can look really classy and polished to go shorter.
ReplyDeletePeinliche Frisur! lisa
ReplyDeleteKann ich nur zustimmen. Wo liegt das Problem, die Haare zusammen zu binden oder hoch zu stecken? e.
DeleteI never cared for what ppl dress or drive or anything for that matters. Mind my own business.
ReplyDeleteSo why do you comment here?
DeleteOh, look what got in (Anon)14:47.
DeleteSomebody left the door open again.
If you don't like what people dress in or what cars they drive in, then why did you come onto this site and waste your time in making a comment. Strange.
I always find puzzling why people participate in this forum just to let us know how they don’t care about such frivolous issues, and to assert some sort of moral superiority, and yet here you are!
DeleteSmart? I don’t think so.
Cherry
ReplyDeleteShe likes quirky and odd and generally rocks it... But the hair is really unkept
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits not bad, but not for a visit to a foreign Country. OMO. css
