  1. Cela fait plaisir de les voir tous les deux à une table de travail ; style working-girl avec les lunettes correspondantes ; bon choix que les boucles d'oreilles que je pense lui avoir déjà vues ?!

Looks like a bit of a mismatch in the dresscode here. Oh well!

I've never been a huge fan of the Crown Princely Couple's interior design, but for once my eye isn't drawn to the art but what looks like an empty clock to the right positioned at what looks like a strange angle. Magbe it's the angle of the photo.

I have visited their home the summer before they moved in, it was open for the public then. I loved it, some rooms are kept classic but a lot of them contain contemporary murals from Danish and Australian artists. It looked great. But I must agree on the clock, it looks odd in this photo.

I am aware that they opened the doors to their new home but I don't think the public saw their private quarters. Also the Danish people paid for the renovation. It cost around 120 million DKK or even more as it kept running up.

There’s not a lot to say fashion-wise. CPFred looks very casual here, especially in comparison to his guest. CPMary’s earrings are gorgeous but perhaps a bit blingy with the striped sweater. The winner for me is the striking wall mural behind them! (V.M.)

Mary has such a perfect posture from years of riding horses. She looks fresh and so poised. Frederick looks warm and comfortable. MR

Awful! Is she going for a 6th grade look? Pony tail at her age? Is she trying to be cute???

      Seriously?? She’s not 70.
Did not know that there is age limit / rules for a poney tail and it’s seen as an effort to look cute. Sounds completely odd to me but why not ….lol.
For sure, in any post, clearly a back and forth between anti or pro cohort with regards to the royals. The same thing would be highly praise as ‘perfect’ regardless, or strongly attack from head to toe. Open debates!

    2. At her age? I'm over 60 and wear a ponytail even when I'm visiting theater and so on. And yes, Mary looks very cute ;)

They are not dressed to receive an ambassador. They look like they just finished a job in the attic that couldn't wait. CP Frederik could at least put on a shirt and a jacket and CP Mary could have worn one of her suit's jackets.

Det er et uofficielt arbejdsmøde ,måske er det ambassadør der er overdresset.

He is not a foreign ambassador TO Denmark, but an ambassador FROM Denmark, and therefore a fellow countryman, as is the woman present. I've no doubt that the guests would have been advised that the working meeting would have been in a casual environment at the time that the invitation was issued - this is normal protocol. How the guests chose to follow the dress code is up to them, but you cannot fault their hosts for dressing casually. As much as parts of Amalienbourg Palace is used for working purposes, it is also one of the CP's residences.

    3. Thanks Anon9:30 for filling us in on the facts. Much appreciated.
Prince Frederik is always smiling when he's in his dress down clothes and/or in his sporting gear.

Both Fred and Mary are dressed to casual to meet with an ambassador. I also think Mary's use of the pony tail and glasses is getting a tad over done.

So she is not allowed to see because you think the glasses are overdone? Contacts are not for everyone, or they have limited time they are comfortable wearing them. What a thing to say!

The lovely thing about long hair is its versatility. If she wants to pull it back into a pony tail, she has every right to do so. If you think it is tiresome, I would love to hear your comments on Victoria, Anne, Margrethe, Beatrix, and Sofía.

Fred looks like he's worn that shirt for days and Mary looks like his much older, plain looking sister.

Confusing clash of clothes and decor here. Mary and Frederick quite casual; ambassador in suit and tie; accompanying woman somewhere between. The traditionally shaped but empty-faced clock is strange. The wall mural design to me is aggressive and jarring, but that’s a matter of taste. I can see that it would appeal to others.

I think the meeting was meant to be a bit more informal but perhaps the ambassador was dressed for the office. Mary looks casual smart in her simple sweater--and love her hair in a ponytail because its stylish, sleek, and very flattering. Frederik looks as if he wasn't warm enough and chose to throw on another layer--a jacket--to stay warm. Others have commented on the room. I must admit I'm not a fan of some of the modern art I see in photos of the CP couple's home but I understand the idea of it being personal taste as well as way to highlight artists from Denmark and Australia. The mural behind them would distract me terribly in a meeting so they would probably seat me with my back to it!

Frederick always looks a little casual (and even unkempt occasionally) and even when he is more formal, his coats / jackets / blazers are too tight and a sore for the eye. I suppose there’s a little rebel inside him that tells him to not dress as one would expect him to.

  13. This was only a plain working meeting. No reason to dress up, normally home office clothes. I can understand that the danish ambassador wear a suit, it is his normal daily attire.

    2. Hi @ Siv : The weather has warmed up and hubby's gone back to his fishing. So I'm busy catching up on my soap operas and of course the comings and going on NewMyRoyals. Lots of fashion photos thanks to Helen.
You know, the photos help me to understand things much quicker 😊
