Swedish Crown Princess Victoria's Name Day was celebrated in the Royal Palace’s Inner Courtyard today. Crown Princess Victoria was joined by her husband Prince Daniel and their children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar. In Sweden, birthdays and name days of the king, the queen, and the heir apparent are official flag days. Crown Princess Name Day is traditionally celebrated on March 12 every year.

I really like these faux fur coats of mother and daughter. My daughter in law has the same but in a short version. It is very soft when you touch it. It is also very comfortable and warm. The off white color is very on trend this time of the year as well in faux fur as in wool or in parka fabric.
ReplyDeleteStand on a box and let people cheer.
ReplyDeleteRidiculous.
Nice coat, though.
😂 Sorry,Anon. I think your comment is what is ridiculous. Royals are there to be seen and applauded. It’s part of what they do!!
DeleteI agree. Standing on that wooden box.....the feeling of embarrassment comes to mind. It's OK to cheer Victoria on her names day, of course, but that box, I so hoped they would come out with something more creative.....sorry that I haven't got a good idea what to do instead......C
DeleteI am not sure if you've ever seen the Spanish Royals, for example, at the Pascua Militar Event - they stand on a raised platform to receive salutes. When the late Queen Elizabeth reviewed her troops at Trooping the Colour she did so on a raised platform, as well. It is a quite traditional form of positioning a royal person/group (to receive honours or salutes) in a forecourt of a Palace or at any parade grounds, for that matter. So, in that regard, I really don't get your point.
DeleteI've been there and was greatful for this box so I could see them better. I suggest, you travel a bit to widen your horizon. Poor thing!Siv
DeleteOn peut remarquer qu'une touche de bleu-cobalt est plus ou moins à l'honneur chez chacun vêtu confortablement ; ravissante Estelle avec ces boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Love the fluffy coats of mother and daughter. Must be dreadfully cold in Stockholm.
ReplyDeleteLadyofthemanor
It's around zero but the nights are colder and it's often windy./Grace
DeleteI was there on site - it was very cold - approx -5 °C but feels colder while standing all the time
DeleteWow way too much snow. Nice to see the whole family joining in. The coats are very nice and hopefully super warm. css

ReplyDeleteEuropa
Looks like winter hasn't finished yet.
ReplyDelete“Snug and warm” is the fashion code for a day in Stockholm at this time of the year.
Nice family photo.
Happy Name Day to Princess Victoria.
Sweden must have really cold weather at the moment, as everyone is wearing super warm clothing! Can almost hear the crispt crunch of footsteps and see the breath of air as they speak. CP Victoria's family look warm, and lovely, each for their age.... Edwina.
