King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are making a state visit to South Africa. On March 22, 2023, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde arrived at Waterkloof AFB Airport in Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa. Tomorrow, the King and Queen will officially begin their state visit to South Africa.
Beautiful outfit, elegant skirt and top.
ReplyDeletePauline
Si, perfetta.
DeleteRossella
I love the colour of the top and the coordinating patterned skirt. Lovely outfit again.
ReplyDeleteQueen looks beautiful. The lady receiving the guests, ballerinas not good for cankles
ReplyDeleteBallerinas might be the only shoes she can wear. A relative of mine has similarly swollen feet due to health problems, and in that situation you don’t have much choice with your footwear. On the other hand, ballerinas are certainly healthier for your feet in the long run than the skyhigh heels many women are wearing.

100% agree @Stella.
DeleteSorry, Stella According to my podiatrist, ballerinas are the worst possible footwear, with high heeled stilettos in second place!
DeleteBallerinas are just as bad for feet as sky high heels. A slight low heel is the ideal.
DeleteYou are right Anonymous 23/3 21:36. There are ballerinas now with a comfort sole inside and a heel of 2 cm. There are also mocassins made the same way for people with foot problems due to age like myself.
DeleteBeautiful outfit--love the colors and think Mathilde looks lovely in the shade of red seen in the blouse. Given South Africa is entering into their Fall season, this outfit is wonderful choice.
ReplyDeleteJanet
The fall season in Gauteng is actually hot 31 deg C! Only really starts getting a bit chilly towards end April
DeleteWe must stop thinking about seasons like in Western Europe. In Africa winter is probably completely different. Even in Europe there is a big difference between the southern part and the northern countries.
DeleteNice colours, nice outfit.

Elegant and approachable, the color is very flattering.
ReplyDeleteCherry Blossom
Beautiful warm colours !!
ReplyDeleteWhere the hell is Hewanorra International Airport? Because it's definitely not in South Africa...
ReplyDeleteDo not know either🤔they arrived at Waterkloof Air base!
DeleteFrom South African resident
It has been corrected in the meantime. It surely was a confusion. Hewanorra Intl. Airport is in St. Lucia / Caribbean
DeleteLovely outfit : Queen Mathilde wears her Ikat skirt and coordinating top. From what I can see on these pictures, I think there is a red stone (rubis ?) in her long earrings. She is also wearing one of her big broad bracelets, she is wearing regularly lately. Shoes and clutch are in coordination with the top. I love it. Marcella
ReplyDeleteLa couleur du haut que l'on retrouve dans des motifs de la jupe ainsi que dans la pochette et les chaussures va à merveille à sa blondeur !
ReplyDeleteTrès bien dit!
DeletePauline
Lovely, lovely and elegant!
ReplyDeleteMabel
Mathilde, always so elegant and subtle dressed. Super combination of colours. together with the right (less is more) costume jewelry. This lady knows how to dress regal on any occasion
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and patterned skirt but I don't think it is the best outfit for the Queen. The wide, tucked in shirt emphasises her short waisted shape and the skirt becomes very dominating. I would have liked to see a different top.
ReplyDeleteLadyofthemanor
Yes lovely outfit, but no to the hair styling.
ReplyDeleteLovely colors, nice silhouette for the Queen. Edwina
ReplyDeleteFashion not umportand healt and comfort is what counts for me. Don't care, proud of Naledi Pandor love her.
ReplyDeleteA well chosen combo for the occasion. A soft impact for her arrival in the country. The hair ?? O.K. by me.
ReplyDeleteBasically, this Queen is kind of frumpy. No matter what she wears, her conventionality always shines through. Here, too, an odd aura of conventionality hovers over her.
ReplyDeleteI disagree !!
DeleteIs there something wrong with being conventional? Hadn't realised it was a character flaw.
DeleteNice pattern skirt. How long will they be in S Africa? css
ReplyDeleteI love how they are holding hands coming down the stairs. Such a lovely couple!
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely outfit, love the combination of colors. The skirt looks lovely and the rich deep red looks splendid with the colors of the skirt. Love the shoe color, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, my favourite Royals, right here in my own city. Which I could meet them. Welcome to South Africa and may your visit be full of light and wonderful moments ~MS~
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are some of my favourite royals too! Although I am not in your beautiful city. 🙂. Some day I will make it there!
