  1. This pink-and-red dress hurts my eyes. Pink and red should never be combined, and the dividing line is in the most random, unflattering position and makes no sense whatsoever together with the v-neckline. Too bad, because the overall cut and silhouette of the dress isn´t bad, the curvy lines at hem at sleeves are actually quite pretty.

    1. Although a dangerous choice in theory, I think it turns out quite well. It is always rewarding to accept flexibility, also in design choices. The dividing line has been cleverly positioned.

I do not agree. Pink and red, bordeaux and red, etc... are colors that are frequently combined lately, also by other royals. The V-neck suits queen Mathilde better than the high neck dresses or blouses. This dress is so elegant when she moves. I saw it in a video yesterday. I also like princess Astrid's dress with the animal print. Unfortunately she looks so pale again, I hope she is well. Her hair is not done like it is done usually either.

I used to think the same about these two colors together, but Maxima has shown great examples in which this combination works wonders.
However I do agree that the position of the dividing line is weird.

Completely agree. I do like Princess Astrid’s jacket.- very flattering cut. I think perhaps less flowing or pencil skirt/pants and shoes would be better- perhaps in a solid. Head to toe of plaids and animal prints (top, bottom and shoes) is usually way too much.

I would love to see this dress on CP Elisabeth, because I feel this would work better on a younger person. And while we're at it: to see this dress with the colours reversed (pink on top, red on bottom) ;-) A different hairstyle on Queen Mathilde here would also be a completely different feel me thinks ;-)

    6. I am another fan of this bright dress. It reminds me of a stunning outfit worn by Diana, Princess of Wales. A bright pink top with a red skirt and a matching hat. One of her top outfits. This is equally pleasing and Queen Mathilde looks fantastic.

Pink is just a lighter shade of red. Of course they go together, they're the same color really.

Very nice and well fitting dress. I like the two color concept and her matching earrings.

The cut and tailoring of this dress is beautiful and flatters Queen Mathilde's figure very well. Unfortunately the colour is just an eyesore and unflattering. These two shades seem to clash rather than complement each other. I wish it had been a single tone dress or colours that complemented each other.

I think the Queen's dress is very pretty and it fits her perfectly. I also like Princess Astrid's animal print dress. King Philippe looks particularly handsome today.

Wow, wow and wow again for both ladies!
Love the colours of M ‘s dress, really daring, and princess Astrid’s dress is sophisticated and stunning in a total different style.

  7. This is a beautiful dress, the fit and design is perfect. Love the color combination, it works brilliantly. Love her color choice of shoes. I remember back in the day the late Princess Diana had this color combination of a dress, was beautiful as well. The Queen looks exceptionally lovely. Pss Astrid's animal print dress is stunning, she looks lovely.

A dress design complementing her pear-shaped figure. The colour combination fresh and unusual. Shoes and accessories not to bad. But the eternal 'helmet' hair... seen it for decades, made her look in her 50's, when she was in her 30's, and now... How many cans of hair spray she must have used and discarded in her time as queen. - Amy

    1. I think this is an unnecessary aggressive comment. She seems to want to stick to this hair length, rather than longer hair, and we don't know anything about the nature of her hair ; it can well be that her styling doesn't request hair spray. I rather like it when it is turned inwards , but less when outwards. Only few women look ok with the very short Charlene's length.

The idea of not combining red and pink was a 1950s fashion rule. Thankfully that rule has been long abandoned. The colors look wonderful together. It's good to see Mathilde forgoing a belt. She looks so much better without one. The v-neck elongates her body, which she always needs.
