King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema attended the 12th De-suung Raising Day celebrations at the Changlimithang Stadium. De-suung celebrated its 12th Raising Day with around 8,000 De-suups from across the country joining the celebrations. De-suung means "Guardians of Peace".
De-suung was established by Royal Charter in 2011 as a platform for trained volunteers to offer their services to the nation. De-suups have volunteered during all national disasters and large national events since its inception.

ReplyDeleteBhutanese royals strike me as a remarkably balanced couple. Despite their young age, they appear so mature and deeply rooted in their traditions. I truly enjoy reading about them and would love to visit the country one day.
