Japan's Emperor Naruhito turned 63 today and greeted the people from the Imperial Palace for the first time on his birthday since he ascended the throne. Emperor Naruhito appeared alongside Empress Masako, their daughter, Princess Aiko, Crown Prince Fumihito (Akishino), Crown Princess Kiko and Princess Kako.
On February 23, 2023, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended a reception to celebrate the Emperor's 63rd birthday held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Japanese politicians who attended the reception congratulated 63rd birthday of Emperor Naruhito.
The Imperial Household Agency released new photos on the occasion of 63rd birthday of the Emperor. The birthday photos were taken at the Imperial residence of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako in Tokyo on February 16.
ReplyDeleteI love the vibrant colour of this flowing gown with the extra touches, much more exciting than the slightly boring beige costume.

Happy birthday To the Emperor Naruhito of Japan. I love the embroidery on Masako's gown and great color. Pss Aiko's suit is also very flattering. Nice to see her again. css
ReplyDeleteThe pale blue velvet gown with slight pattern at the bodice and cuffs looks stunning, adding interest, love the addition of the brooch, perfect placement. The pale suit looks excellent, beautifully tailored, her clothes always fit impeccably. The addition of the simple strand of cultured pearls and brooch are the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteThe Empress looks divine in the velvet blue! Hopefully we’ll see a move a way from suits and more of her personality coming through. She’s a beautiful woman!
ReplyDeleteThe Empress looks beautiful in this blue dress. She has the most beautiful smile.
ReplyDeleteEmpress Masako looks wonderful her blue velvet gown! I also like her in the cream/pale yellow suit--it is elegant. Aiko also looks quite nice in her formal attire. Happy Birthday to the Emperor!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Emperor Naruhito of Japan.
ReplyDeleteEmpress Masako, no hat?
Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of anything velvet. My own very personal taste.
Tailoring, as usual - perfection. Not a false stitch or crease anywhere.
I hope that the restrictions related to covid will be soon over and that we will be able to see the Royal family without masks.
The blue really suits her. She likes cream colors. I wish she can experiment more with colors. She looks divine in all respects.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Emperor of Japan.
ReplyDeleteThe velvet dress is heavy at the end of February. A dress with a spring-like texture would be appropriate for the occasion.
Later, when Their Majesties visited the residence of the former Emperor and Empress, Masako wore the same velvet hat.
Crown Princess Kiko's dress, seen in other videos, was spring-like in fabric and color. It was perfectly fitting.
Aiko's dress was also beautifully tailored, with work at the neck and cuffs and some piping at the waist. Lovely hat. Nice to see that she was not wearing the hat her mother favored. The color of Kako's dress suits her well.
Still, it's a disappointment about the mask. The masks are unnecessary when they are far away from people and shielded by glass. I think it is not difficult to give people their celebratory smile.
It is still chilly and very much still winter in Tokyo in February, so the velvet gown seems appropriate to me.
