On the second day of their visit to Saint Martin, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Princess Amalia visited Fort Amsterdam. They received information about the fort’s history. Afterwards, the family visited the White and Yellow Cross residential home for older people and people with a disability. Next, the family visited a science fair, where primary and secondary school pupils will present their solutions for reducing plastic waste on the island.
In the afternoon the King and Queen and the Princess visited a school garden project.. Following this the King and Queen and the Princess visited St Peters Hill. This hill borders on the French part of the island.

Princess Amalia’s hair looks nice this way !!
ReplyDeleteI actually like all of the outfits! I think Maxima does casual really well and sometimes looks better without 6 inch heels. Km
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of Amalia. I'm not really a fan of Maxima's pants, though.
ReplyDeleteWhy these Ill-fitting pants?
ReplyDeleteWhy not a short skirt or a pair of soft jeans?
In a hot or tropical climate these pants, call them what you wish (Capri, pedal pushers, crop pants) are refreshing and easy to wear.
DeleteI think she has made a good choice and bad luck for "fashion".
Love the Queen’s top and hair but not the pants. The Princess looks lovely and interested in connecting with the residents of the island. The King has lost weight and looks handsome in blue. MR
ReplyDeleteNo to Maxima's trousers
DeleteWhat's with Amalia hiding behind the sunglasses so much? People could relate to her much more without them.
ReplyDeleteIf she has very sensitive eyes like I do sunglasses are a life saver! It's no fun squinting.
DeleteFor Europeans visiting a region like this, sunglasses are almost a necessity.
DeleteThe light and the glareness can be very uncomfortable.
Except for the silly (and fairly useless) handbag, I really like Amalia´s outfit. I think this is the youngest she has looked. The plateau sandals are not great, but the sporty shoes for the outdoor part of the day work well. I would have chosen a simply white bag to go with this, ideally worn diagonally over the shoulder.
ReplyDeleteMaxima´s trousers look awful. But her hair is styled nicely.
Big win for Maxima. It's casual, it's chic, it suits her and the occasion, I love it and I would actually be happy to see all of those pieces in my own wardrobe. Amalia looks good, definitely prefer the darker shades on her, but I think the patterned blouse is ageing her unneccessarily. Also wish she'd ditched the bag and rather opted for a cross-body variant or something. It seems silly to wear these tiny things in your hand when you know you're going to do a lot of socialising and walking about.

Queen Maxima's outfit looks fabulous, the flat shoes were a wise choice. I love her choice of jewellery. Princess Amalia looks great. She is interacting and engaging well here. She has done such a wonderful job, which must be rather daunting.
ReplyDeleteI think both ladies’s outfits are great for the occasion. CPA looks quite relaxed here. Given the troubles at home I’m sure this trip has done her some good. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteFun in the sun, still a couple of days and it will go back to some cold and rainy day/s. Nice casual outfits on the ladies. css
ReplyDeleteYep, nothing to look forward to with the European weather at the moment.
DeleteLike the last two pics where Princess Amalia is engaging with the old folk and the children. The trousers with the platform sandals look good. Queen Maxima's outfit would be great if the trousers were full length/normal shape
ReplyDeleteI love a photo of Princess Amalia & old lady, with a loving look on Amalia’s face. It warmed my heart.
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima’s blue dress is beautiful.
Pour cette occasion, toutes les deux sont vêtues décontractées même si la tenue de Maxima est plus chic ; ses boucles d'oreilles ainsi que son collier sont bien choisis mais ce serait agréable de mieux les voir !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blu and white dress on Maxima in the last pictures. Wish I could see it better. No to Amalia’s ill fitting baggy pants and baggy tops. The first one has a nice pattern but the voluminous sleeves and off shoulder seams are not becoming on her.

I was wondering if I was the only one that wanted to comment on the ill-fitting trousers and too wide blouse of Amalia. She could look so much better, if well advised
DeleteJust saw the updated photos. Lovely blue and white dress for the Queen. While Princess Amalia's outfit is not brilliant, it's not too bad. The darker colours are definitely better.
DeleteI think Maxima suits this first outfit well, including the trousers! She has generally been looking good on this trip. Amalia looks very pretty with her hair like this and suits big colourful jewellery. She also seems more relaxed and engaged as the tour goes on - hopefully she is finding her feet and getting a flavour of her future role. JJ
ReplyDeletePrincess Amaalia has a lovely closed mouthed smile, but where is her laugh like her mother.
ReplyDeleteWhy are most of Princess Amalia's pants so long? Looks sloppy and not stylish at all making her bigger than necessary.
