Queen Mathilde of Belgium is making a three-day working visit to Bangladesh. On the third day of her visit, the Queen visited a water treatment plant in Sutarkhali Union, an area that has been frequently hit by floods, cyclones, and was affected by salinity intrusion. The Queen also had a brief discussion with the beneficiaries of the water treatment plant.
The Queen met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed in Dakka. Afterwards, The Queen met with Bangladesh President Mohammad Abdul Hamid at the presidential palace in Bangabhaban. During the meetings, women empowerment, girls education, health, social safety net, disaster management and climate changes came up for discussion.
Very pretty dress ... IMHO
ReplyDeleteYes, yes !
DeleteNice to see the Queen today. Looking at pics 5-8 one can thank God for what one has. This is everyday life for these people. This is heartbreaking to see, I love the purple dress. css
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely outfits, for each specific occasion. Good job Queen M.

What a fabulous dress. Perfect fit, beautiful colors
ReplyDeleteAgree, excellent choice for the occasion.
DeleteTotally agree
DeleteThe beautiful blouse and pants look fabulous. The purple dress is beautiful. I admire the work she is doing.
ReplyDeleteBoth these outfits are just excellent on Queen Mathilde. The rich colours and raw silk/cotton textures, and the casual yet 'not slacking', loose styles suit her so well. She has worn some beautiful, simple clothes on this working trip.

Yes they are beautiful and the dress fits well. It has a stronger ethnic look than the first one so I wonder if we will see it again. Hope so, both dresses are wonderful.

The casual outfit is perfect: wonderfull colour combination. I especially love the flat brown loafers!
ReplyDeleteLin the afternoon a very nice dress. Well done Mathilde!

One of Queen Mathilde's best choices in dresses. It fits properly, a great color on her, the flowing skirt so much better than the pencil thin skirts that are too tight and crease easily. Nice length. I wish the waist would have hit at her natural waistline, but all in all a very nice ensemble.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the waist placement - always too high. Otherwise a wonderful look. (V.M.)
DeleteAgree with your comments completely, Virginia
DeleteThat IS her natural waist line. She is high waisted which is why she can be difficult to dress. This dress is fantastic on her.
DeleteYou are right about the waist line. Lately Queen Mathilde's dresses were not cut in the waist area and the fabric was left into one piece. I think I can understand that the designer had to cut the fabric in two pieces taking into account the pattern of this beautiful piece of silk. Maybe she bought a piece of fabric on one of her former visits to India or she received it as a present. Marcella
DeleteWhen I see these pictures, the idea comes to my mind that she is the "new Diana" in many respects.
ReplyDeleteQuelle magnifique robe dont le style et les couleurs lui vont à merveille ; je remarque qu'elle a su adopter ces boucles d'oreilles depuis son arrivée !
ReplyDeleteDuring this tour Queen Mathilde was dressed beautifully. These ethnic clothes suit her very well. The colors are gorgeous. She is an excellent ambassador for the UN to go into these countries where people suffer and have to live in circumstances beyond imagination. Marcella
ReplyDeleteSo wonderfully adapted to the traditions of Bangladesh. Loved all her outfits of her visit.
