King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia of The Netherlands are visiting the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 27 January to 9 February 2023. The visit aims to introduce Crown Princess Catharina Amalia (The Princess of Orange) to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
On the second day of their visit to Bonaire, The King and Queen and the Crown Princess visited the slave huts at Witte Pan that are reminders of the history of slavery in Bonaire. Subsequently, they attended Nos Zjilea at Cultural Park Mangazina di Rei, which is an event that highlights Bonaire’s cultural and historical heritage.

I really love Maxima's ensemble. I didn't think camel and red would look good together, but it ties in so well and still feels light and appropriate for the climate. Always loved this hat on her, too and she styled it fantastically. Good to see Amalia out and about as well (really looking forward to seeing more of her in the future!), but I'm not 100% sold on her dress. The colour washes her out a bit and I'm not a huge fan of the visibly shorter shift underneath. Definitely room for improvement, but not a bad start at all!

'Tis the season for all royals to visit the hot countries. |Melanie|
ReplyDeleteAmalia is dressed like a 50 year old in the fifties…. Color of the dress washes her out.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you, and always the bag in front of her....... she should be dressed like a young woman...
DeleteYes, I agree with you about her fashion taste , not the best one.

Amalia definitely needs some fashion advice. Maxima's headwear is ugly, the dress is different but nice.
ReplyDeleteAmalia’s dress is pretty, light and delicate—good movement for an active visit. Earrings are beautiful but I’m partial to Lyngaard. —Anne
ReplyDeleteI agree, I love her accessories. Those earrings and purse are excellent. I also think her dress is lovely, perfect for the Caribbean.

I also really like her dress: light, a lot of movement, but not too much. I love love LOVE Ole Lynggaard jewels, they are so beautiful (but unfortunately very expensive as well). I am looking forward to see if Amalia will wear her hair in a different style on this trip, I don't recall seeing it in updo or a different style yet. It's really nice that the Dutch royal family does a trip like this to introduce her properly to these islands, like they did with king W-A. Learning on the job is the best way to learn. Queen Mathilde of Belgium said in a recent interview she learned so much from Fabiola and Paola, as there's no handbook to teach you how to be a royal.
DeleteAmalia seems relaxed at the dance, love it.
ReplyDeleteBest dressed are the not-royal ladies.

Amalia's dress looks very feminine and soft, she looks very pretty. Love her bag. Her earrings are gorgeous and suit her well. Q. Maxima looks fabulous, its great to see this rewear dress, its beautiful. Its wonderful to see Amalia getting into the spirit of things, well done to her.
ReplyDeleteAmalia's dress is too long with the uneven hem length. It's too long and nearly gets caught in her heels. The underskirt is too short. QM's hat is a complete disappointment. Does not go well with the pattern on her dress.
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima’s outfit is great, dress, hat, shoes—the lot. Princess Amalia’s dress suits her figure much better than many she has previously worn. I accept that a stronger colour would have been good but otherwise perfect for this visit. AnnieM
ReplyDeleteI reckon they should stop dressing as if they were going to a wedding reception, and wear more relaxed clothing. If they really want to learn to know about the area, go for a walk along the rugged beach or mix with locals in the streets. Ditch the beaches with tourist surfers and other tourist spots, and learn about the area. - Ellie
ReplyDeleteI think Amalia should wear these high heels only on very formal occasions and flat sandals or mini heels with this dress. She looks so uncomfortable in those shoes (especially in the videos on Twitter)

ReplyDeleteI think Amalia would look good in classic style outfits , she would look modern and her age.

I don`t understand the dressing code, the King is dressed informally but the Queen wears a hat? Looks a bit weird.

ReplyDeletePrincess Amalia is a young lady (20 years old in December 2003).
At the moment she is still a teenager “nineTEEN”.
Please give her a chance to find her way in the fashion jungle.
Please give her some time to find her way in the fashion jungle.
ReplyDeleteDon’t you think that the only real problem here is that a young woman’s life is threatened, she therefore needs to live with her parents and give up on her dream to live a student’s life and create her own identity - as any adolescent should?
DeleteI think Pss Amalia should have worn a crop pant and top, she is still so very young.css
ReplyDeleteIt's just too bad that Amalia is also a fan of Natan.
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is my favourite.
