Nobel day, December 10, 2022, began with the traditional Nobel Prize concert of The Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at Stockholm Concert Hall. Thereafter, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia attended the 2022 Nobel Prize ceremony.
The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics, Chemistry, Medicine and Literature and the prize in economic sciences were handed out by King Carl Gustaf to the Nobel Prize laureates during the ceremony. Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger became the winners of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics. Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless received the 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Svante Pääbo in Medicine, and Annie Ernaux in Literature. Ben S. Bernanke, Douglas W. Diamond and Philip H. Dybvig won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
Very beautiful all around.
ReplyDeleteI like Victoria´s the best. That´s a great design, and apparently she was involved in it. It is classic ballgown with a modern twist (awesome draping!), and the colour is great too - soft enough to steer clear of kitschy barbie pink territory, and saturated enough to not look pale or washed out. She manages to look regal and grown-up - despite the pink and baby blue sash and purse.
Her jewellery is impressive, but I think that her necklace is a bit too short and therefore a bit far away from her neckline.
Silvia in purple looks wonderful too. I think she likes purple because she has those wonderful amethyst jewels. I think it´s a nice colour, but I also feel like we´ve seen her in purple quite often, so it´s a bit of a deja-vu, although it probably is a new gown.
Sofia - I think I like the dress with the 3D-flowers. Great design, nice silhouette, and the wintery silver (with a blue hue?) is just right for the season. But her hair is disappointing. I wish she hadn´t gone for a centerpart hairstyle and instead pulled her hair away from her face and ears.
Sofia's best Nobel presence was in 2014 and 2019. Today is a big NO.

Queen Victoria! Out of a fairy tale book...
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! Victoria is adorable!
DeleteVictoria looks lovely in the pink and I like the style of the gown. It has enough interest without being too overdone or bulky. Purple is a good color for Sylvia and the amethyst tiara and jewels are complementary and just gorgeous! Sofia looks pretty but not sure about her gown. It looks too fussy and I don't like all the "stuff" up around her neck which would personally bother me...but that's just my personal taste. The gentlemen look quite spiffy!
ReplyDeleteVictoria looks gorgeous in pink, feminine and flattering dress, stunning jewellery. Silvia in purple looks great.

The crown princess looks stunning. A true gala gown in a very pretty color . The draping is fantastic! Queen Silvia’s gown is a great color for her but I am not quite sure about the extra skirt/train. She always looks very good in a full skirt so I think I would have preferred that. I think it looks ok standing but not so sure about when sitting down. I love that she is wearing the amethyst diadem closed as a crown. Not very often we see that.

The queen is lovely as usual. Victoria's gown is fine, but I think she has had a more attractive hair styling in the past. I remain on the fence about Sofia's gown.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looks wonderful and this color always suits her so well. Drooling over those gorgeous amethyst jewels…stunning. CP Victoria looks wonderful as well, with a wonderful cut and really interesting draping. I’m not as much of a fan of the shiny pink fabric in December, but the fit and design win over the summary color. As for Sofia, she misses the mark for me most times and this is no different. The fit is off and the center part hair needs an update.
ReplyDeleteThey all look lovely - truly - but I like Queen Sylvia's the best. Victoria's is also very, very nice (excellent draping) and I love the colour and the flowers of Sofia's gown.

Today again a great honor for the Nobel prize winners. Their hard work paid off. The Royal Ladies look stunning. Sofia should have let the flowers off, her Tiara with the new stones and earrings are fantastic. css
ReplyDeleteQueen Silivia looks marvellous, her gown looks gorgeous, lovely color. Her amethyst's jewels are a beautiful blend with her gown. The purple stones are a stunning color and generous size. CP Victoria looks fabulous, this gown looks sensational, color and style, fit is perfect. Love her choice of jewels. In this instance I love the snug fit of her diamond necklace, the size of these diamonds are wonderful. I love the color of her evening clutch, clever addition. The deep red of her nail polish, great. Pss Sofia has a very individual look gown wise. Its somewhat unusual with fussy features, but its not overall visible the entire dress. From what I see it looks quite good. I will have to wait for me photos, I feel. Her tiara looks wonderful as do her earrings. Not so sure about her hair styled in this way. Queen Silvia hair is styled superbly to accommodate the amethyst tiara. She has a wonderful hairdresser, her styles with tiara placement are always superb, I love when a diamond clip is added to her hair. She always looks so beautifully groomed on these ocassions and looks both regal and majestic, very befitting of Queen.
ReplyDeleteThe Swedish Royals are simply the best.
ReplyDeleteTout de suite, mon regard s'est porté sur Victoria qui est délicieuse dans cette robe rose au magnifique drapé croisé ; la couleur argentée de son clutch s'harmonise très bien avec la couleur de ses bijoux !
ReplyDeleteBig deal.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dresses all round but I think the Princess Sofia's is spoilt by the high cluttered neckline. Crown Princess Victoria looks amazing
ReplyDeleteVictoria's gown is the nicest in my opinion. I always find the gowns that the ladies of the Swedish Royal family choose too fussy for my taste.
