On December 12, 2022, Dutch Queen Maxima received Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of the Socialist People Republic of Vietnam. Queen Maxima held a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh about the progress of financial inclusion in the country in the Blauwe Salon at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague.
The Queen spoke with the Prime Minister about, among other things, the importance of good telecom connections so that people in remote areas can also connect to financial services and the development of digital identity documents for better access to the digital economy.
This is a prime example how to NOT do monochrome. The forest green is an amazing shade & each piece on its own is actually very pretty, but together... nope. She looks bundled up and camouflaged as if she's planning on living in a forest for a while.

Yes👍
DeleteYes. And when the monochromatic colors don't quite go together (or maybe it's the lighting). Either way, it's just too much.

I think Maxima looks quite nice today. However I think she overslept and had to jump out of bed and run to the blue salon to be on time and completely forgot all her baubles. She is not even wearing earrings.
ReplyDeleteThe lady in red who I presume is an interpreter looks very elegant.
As this is a fashion blog I feel free to comment on the walls updated fashionable outfit. I find it very Intriguing. At first I was sitting on the fence but I like it now. Only I think the carpets and coffee tables are just the wrong colour choices. I don't mind that they are of modern design but feel the colour tones should have echoed other colours in the room. As a backdrop to the photographs that wall decoration is very distracting although I am sure it must look gorgeous in reality.
@nalerina - Thanks for your comments on the decor in the Blue Saloon which I find interesting.
DeleteAlso enjoyed the change from baggy pants, uneven hemlines, ill-fitting undergarments etc.
The following link with some photos gives the explanation of the decor in the saloon.
There is a video also.

Oh, for Maxima today and her ensemble, I’m going to make a pot of tea and have a think about it.
At the moment, I’m a bit overdosed with the gowns and jewelry from the galas in Sweden and Norway.
Je suis vraiment déçue par l'allure de Maxima ; j'aurais peut-être gardé le haut à porter sur une jupe droite noire tout en conservant ses magnifiques bottes dont j'adore la couleur !
ReplyDeleteI appreciate Maxima and what she does…however this outfit I can only hope looked better in real life than in these pictures. Oh dear. JJ
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the decoration of the room, I like the mixture of the old and new. I would presume that the artist (painter) of the walls is Dutch. Perhaps someone here can tell us more. Clever presentation.

When will she realize she does not need to wear heals to overtower others. She is a very large woman, although very beautiful and friendly.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!
Delete"Heels". Sorry
DeleteI am disregarding the queen's green ensemble. The wallpaper is super distracting. It might look better in person but trying to interpret the hodgepodge of objects and animals and birds makes my eyes cross.
ReplyDeleteIt must be cold in palace , her outfit would suit outside .

I like Maxima's outfit and I love the wall painting as well. I'm sure she chose a monotone ensemble because of the colourful wall painting - if she had worn anything with a print it would have been disastrous, what with everything else going on in the room - furniture, carpet, books and other paintings higher up the walls. Her dark green outfit coordinates with her surroundings (even the chair she is sitting in) and the top, skirt and boots fit her well.

@ Ava. It is very cold this week in the Netherlands. It is freezing during the day - 1 or - 2 degrees C. At night we have easily - 6 or - 4 degrees C. I presume the royal palaces have to coop with the energy crisis too like we all do these days. Everybody try to heat their premises no more than necessary. The government recommend to put the heating no warmer than 19° C. Many people are trying to do that but I find it not warm enough.
ReplyDeleteAbout the outfit I like the different shades of green combined together. It is what fashionable ladies do these days to combine different shades of the same color. You see it in the fashion stores and in the fashion magazines, so I think Queen Maxima's outfit is not weird. It is true that it looks like she forgot to do her hair.
Anon 15:13 in that case send her energy voucher to heat the place, be a good Samaritan before Christmas. You have stupid explanation.
DeleteAva
Anon 15:13: Those daytime temperatures where I live would be wonderful for this time of year, with people wearing light jackets (some even go out in shorts). Indoors is a different story due to the cutbacks. Other than that, Máxima looks unkempt in her strange outfit. |-Melanie-|
Delete@Ava. In less than one year the price for heating in my country costs twice the price it was before. I know that in government buildings the heating is blocked at 19 degrees C. It is true that the government is advising people to do the same. It is up to us to do so or not, the alternative is to pay lots of money to keep the house warm. On the internet I read recently that Queen Maxima is taking cold showers to save on the heating (I don't know it is true). It is not only a question of money, it is also a question of being aware of the energy problems we encounter this winter due to several causes. I hope we will be able to use other solutions by next winter.
Delete(O dear, o dear, how many millions have been spent on this really awfull interior??
ReplyDeleteNothing matching, kind of bric à brac, such a pity!)
Máxima’s autumn green ensemble is very good for a walk in the woods on a cold winterday,
Mabel
Never mind the outfit.....it looks like she hasn't shampoo'd for day.

Not a very representative outfit for a Queen !!
ReplyDeleteOh, no, Maxima🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
ReplyDeleteHope Santa will bring her a stylist for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThese pieces are nice by itself, but not together. css
ReplyDeleteIndeed if they keep a court jester, there must be somewhere a coiffeur du palais, I,d presume.

Maxima's shiny greenish outfit clashing against the blue chairs and probably the ugliest mural ever seen in the walls.
ReplyDelete@Kteach : Ugly…..no…… it’s “Arty”
DeleteThe best way to appreciate these “Arty” wall and room decorations is to ask one of your kids if you can have a puff or two on one of their cigarettes.
If not, do as I do; put two or three extra tea bags in the pot and half the usual amount of water and sip it slowly.
The result could be that you’ll want to do the same with the walls in your house 😎
Normally I love a monochrome look on Q. Max but this is just too much - a bulky jacket, a full skirt, plus high boots. A sleeker hairstyle would have improved it, but not much. (V.M.)
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 08:09, do you truly believe that Maxima is taking cold showers in order to save on energy? Then I have a bridge to sell you:-), but moving on to the outfit.. I like the skirt and the boots very much, and that forest green is very lovely, for me is the jacket that spoils the outfit, it won’t be flattering for anybody since it looks like a short housecoat, no shape or definition, of course a nice and tidy ponytail would have improved the look.
ReplyDeleteCherry
I love this outfit how wonderful she looks.
