On December 11, 2022, King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway received Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Royal Palace in Oslo. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Oslo to attend the Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 held at University Aula. The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 focuses on how to find a way forward for Afghanistan.
Sonja looks classic and chic. Hillary looks awful in what could be her housecoat with pants and whatever it is around her neck is quite ugly.

I think Hillary looks lovely, that shade of blue is beautiful and so is her necklace.
DeleteI agree with you, Renee. Queen Sonja is such a classic dresser and I don't know what is up with Mrs. Clinton's choice of dress.

ReplyDeleteI love Queen Sonja's ensemble, festive red dress, combined with the colorful silk scarf adding extra color, lovely. Her brooch and necklace lovely additions. Hillary looks nice in the dark blue jacket.
ReplyDeleteFormer First lady and Secretary of State Mrs. Clinton favors long tops lately and they look very nice on her!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think Mrs Clinton has found a style that suits her silhouette and is doing variations with fashion to suit it.
DeleteAlso, it’s a very practical combo for when she is travelling.
During her political life, I remember seeing Hilary Clinton quite often, in pants and blazer.
Obviously, a style she feels comfortable with.
Also, she is 100% “made in America” and probably takes little interest in European fashions and trends. .
I agree, and the deep blue colour suits her very wel
DeleteI disagree due to the length here. If she wants the “long tops” for pantsuit look, she should take lessons from Princess (former Queen) Beatrix of the Netherlands. The shorter length helps to elongate the legs/pants and also eliminates (for lack of a better term) the “middle girth” which unfortunately becomes more prominent with this longer length. Both of these improvements will keep it away from the housecoat look. That and a shorter, more full hairdo.
DeleteQueen Sonya outfit and whole look is just lovely, although I am conflicted about both the scarf and the necklace. Leaning towards leave the scarf, loose the necklace.

I entirely agreed with @Glo and partially with @Deadeggs.
DeleteFirst of all, I didn't recognize Mrs Clinton in these pics.
I get the impression that she didn't put much effort on her clothes and really takes little interest in European fashion and trends.
I would venture to say that she does not show any elegance according to European standards and given that this is a high- profile meeting.
Her hair doesn't look good either so that the overall effect is rather scruffy.
Pity, because she still has a lot of potential.
The King and the Queen are impeccabile as always.
@Deadeggs & P the original.
DeleteEven inside Europe there are different trends in fashion. On the one hand you have the French, Italian & Spanish fashion style and on the other hand the British style. There are also the German fashion houses which are appreciated by older women.
Queen Sonja looks as though she quickly grabbed something from her wardrobe, a sort of more-or-less look, not her usual standard. Sorry to see King Harald looking rather poorly.

I think both ladies look quite nice here. I’m not sure that Q. Sonja’s outfit needed the scarf. To me the belt and jewelry are enough, but she does look festive. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteIt is always nice to see the King and Queen of Norway. Sonja is always elegant. H C really? josebabe
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Mrs. Clinton was honored to meet King Harald and Queen Sonja. The Queen's red belted dress is very pretty. Her necklace and brooch seem to compete with the colorful scarf, and I'm wondering if the brooch is some type of badge or award bestowed upon her. Mrs. Clinton's blue tunic is nice with her black pants, and her blue and black necklace complements the rest of her ensemble. It's good to see King Harald.
ReplyDeleteQueen Sonja looks quite elegant--although I am not sure she needed the necklace and the scarf. Mrs. Clinton has chosen a shade of blue that is wonderful for her. It is nice to see King Harald too.

Hillary's outfit doesn't look good on her, she's never been fashionable or elegant. Sonja looks better but the belt is too big and her scarf doesn't add to the outfit. Both their hairs look in need of a good combing.
