Victoria looks incredible

Victoria´s gown is nice, but I´m not so sure about the jewelry. The necklace is maybe too heavy to go with the tiara. And I´m not too keen on the shape of it. Something coming lower down would have suited better. I have not been impressed with the tiaras CP Victoria has been wearing. Understandably, the spectacular pieces are at Queen Silvia´s disposal. But there is also one big difference between Queen Silvia and the CP. The Queen has always known what suits her. For decades now her appearance at the Nobel festivities has always been a treat, always something to be looking forward to. Regrettably, the CP has not got her mother´s admirable sense for elegance, colour, occasion, etc.
ReplyDeleteVery pleased to see Princess Sofia wearing Lilli Jahilo´s design again. It would have looked better with a different hairdo, not the hanging locks. An updo showing the neck and the temples would have been a more fortunate choice. The gown looks wonderful on the model who is also taller.
Having praised Queen Silvia´s sense of colour earlier, I´m not sure about this tangerine or orange.
I beg to differ, in my opinion the tiaras worn by CP Victoria suits her perfectly and they are actually my favorites.
DeleteMy favorite gown is Queen Silvia’s, what a great color and design for her!
The green dress however is not one of my favorites, I am not a fan of the neckline.

I actually like Princess Christina’s dress best. It’s a lovely color and style.
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo. It looks as though Queen Sylvia is wearing a crown of feathers.
So sorry. Second photo
ReplyDeleteCP Victoria’s green Elie Saab is perfection! The color and cut is very flattering and the emerald jewels take this fabulous dress to the ultimate level, royal fabulousness! The Queen looks nice in her typically silhouette, but her hairdo is the star of this outing for her. Sofia favors unique styles and I actually like this modern choice for her.
ReplyDeleteVictoria and the Queen look wonderful! Victoria’s sister in law looks beautiful but orange isn’t her color, and I find the dress dated. I think it would look beautiful in a solid color like blue. MR
ReplyDeleteI love Victoria's whole look!!! The Elie Saab gown is gorgeous and the emeralds are stunning. Princess Lillian's tiara could be challenging to wear but Victoria always pulls it off. Silvia looks lovely in her orange (sorry, I don't like orange) gown--her choice of jewels is fabulous. Christina is elegant in her royal purple--it always so nice to see her. Finally, Sofia. Sorry--this choice is a big no for me. She can do so much better--she has in years past--than her choices this year.

Queen wearing the same dress from last night but in a different color. she looks amazing still but the crown a little too high.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a different style to Victoria's ban.
ja
Love Victoria’s and Princess Sophia’s dresses .
ReplyDeleteVictoria is gorgeous! Beautiful color and the style of her gown suits her to perfection. And as always her lovely smile and warm eyes tops off the look. Silvia's gown is a pretty style though not sure about the tangerine color but she carries it off. Princess Christina is quite elegant in purple. And Sofia...just no...her dress looks cheaply made and is out of place among the fancier gowns. The color is awful and her hair would look better in an updo..
ReplyDeleteFor me it's on the contrary. Sofia's gown looks very good and the fabric and color are lovely. I do not like Victoria's glittering gown and I never liked it. The fabric looks very cheap even though the green color is nice. Silvia looks as good as always. She and Sofia have co-ordinated their gowns - of course not.
DeleteVictoria looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteSofia's gown again just isn't good.
Sylvia's gown is not a good color for her but the fit is good and her hairstyle is great.
...Marie
Waouh, elles sont toutes superbes ; magnifique le chignon de la reine et Sofia est délicieuse avec les cheveux lâchés sur lesquels son diadème paraît avoir eu le remplacement momentané des aigues-marines par des perles ?!
ReplyDeleteThe queen looks fabulous. Dress, hair, jewellery is all perfection. Orange is not my favourite color but it looks very good on the queen. There is something about CP Viktoria´s dress that I have never quite liked, don't know what. Nevertheless she looks very elegant and the emerald necklace is e perfect match for the dress. I think the tiara is too delicate looking to go well with the necklace. Sofia should wear her hair up. This movie star style is not elegant or sophisticated enough for a royal on a white tie gala. She never seems to quite make it.

The queen is my favorite. Orange color suits very nicely to the queen. Victoria looks quite nice, but I am not a fan of Sofia's dress and style.
DeleteI like the 3 dresses. Each in their own style. I've always found that a tiara needs no necklace. Both jewels worn together are too much. I love queen Sylvia's hairdo. It is very original and very pretty.
ReplyDeleteA parure is a set of jewels that usually consists of a tiara, necklace, earrings, brooch and in many instances may include a bracelet or ring and is usually worn as a set. Do you realize how many fabulous jewels we would miss out on if the royal wore only a necklace or a tiara and not the set as you like. I do realize on some occasions wearing one without the other looks fabulous too. Nothing excites me more than to see the complete set. Lots of bling bling is never too much!
DeleteI know what a parure is. There are Queens and Princesses in Europe that do not have complete sets at their disposal. I prefer one or two beautiful pieces of jewelry. If all the jewelry is worn together the beauty of each piece disappears because it is overwhelming. Besides lots of bling bling is not very chique.
DeleteTaka okazja by ubrać się w piękną suknię a ksieżna Sofia znowu ubrała jakiś worek pod szyję, w dodatku pomarańczowy. I do tego tiarę. Brak wyczucia stylu? O co chodzi?
ReplyDeleteI believe the emeralds do actually call for a different tiara. The designs are too different here and somehow are clashing. The Laurel Wreath Tiara is far too delicate to go with the more heavy, antique style of the emeralds. A pity the Swedish Royals do not own an emerald tiara to match that otherwise magnificent set of emeralds. Perhaps CP Victoria should have switched the tiaras for both events. But then, I guess, the Six Button is too grand to be donned at the second Nobel Prize event. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteAll of the ladies look wonderful but Princess Sofia's dress looks the best to me. She seems to like styles that are not always popular but this dress is so pretty. The ombre color schemes are big right now. The Queen's dress is lovely and Victoria's dress is ok. Love the color on her but someone said when she wore this dress another time that it reminded them of a prom dress and I can't get that out of my head. Angie
ReplyDeleteI love Princess Sofia's hair down. She has beautiful hair and I think she likes it down. She wore it up the night before. She isn't Victoria who always has hers up. And people grip at Victoria about that. The Princess of Wales switches between hairstyles also. It is what a lot of people do. All the ladies look very nice. So nice to have the Nobels back. It has been missed. Ali
ReplyDeleteOh dear. This whole lineup is a bit of a fashion fail for me. Not a fan of Silvia's dress - the colour is just too jarring and the cut isn't very flattering. Victoria's gown never really spoke to me (I think it's the sleeves that bother me), though her jewellery is exquisite. And while I like the flowy cut and overall styling of Sofia's dress the best, the orange isn't really her colour either. I'm going to give this one to Princess Christina, who is always so well dressed and the rich purple is a sight for sore eyes between all these bright gowns!

I have to agree with you…I’m a bit underwhelmed by the choices here, although it’s always delightful to see some beautiful jewels (V.M.)
DeleteWow to all of them. Each in their own styles. Beautiful and stunning. I'm loving Queen Silvia's hair, magnificent.

Wow, what a beautiful colour palette here! I love those warm and fiery colours, so much better than the eternal navy blue and purple. And the colours suit them, too. The orange looks much better on Silvia than the purple she wore the day before. Only the colour of her lipstick clashes a bit with the colour of the dress, but I have noticed that this particular shade of lipstick is her favourite. Orange is a great colour for Sofia, too. And I have always liked that green Elie Saab of Victoria, nice that she is reusing her dresses.

I know I am in the minority, but I really like Sofia’s dress, I would agree that is less formal, less shiny, less “ Royal”, but it flows so very well, is whimsical and the ombré makes it very special, it defines her style and young aspect, the less elaborate tiara works well.
ReplyDeleteVictoria’s dress is very beautiful, but the necklace is overkill, too much of a good thing, she always surprises me about her bold choices on gala events. As much as I love orange when is paired with other subdued tones and complements, here is way too jarring.

I like the dress t´ thoo. Itse rest with the hanging hair that pills the whole look down for me. Not elegant enough for this occation. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteWell...the royal family was endorsing Ireland in Football WC and it shows. This is probably the first time I have seen so much colour in the Nobel Banquet dinner!
ReplyDeleteAthena
I have a thing about tiaras not being on straight, e.g. Sofia's on the weekend & here in these photos. It's obviously crooked. And Silvia's massive one looks like it'll fall off her head. Christina looks lovely as usual in her button tiara & deep-purple gown; that button tiara seems made for her, it suits her very well. Women's tiaras & men's ties, grrrrr. |-Melanie-|
ReplyDeleteThe RL look very elegant. The Nobel Prize Ceremony is always classy. css
ReplyDeleteSofia looks great, so does Victoria although she's worn that dress many times, Silvia also in orange, her hair looks great. Sofia's tiara is nice but Victoria's jewelry is way over the top.
