On December 16, 2022, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel received Christmas trees from forestry programme students from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). This year, five Nordmann firs were presented. The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences has presented Christmas trees to the Royal Palace of Stockholm since the late 1960s.
I don't like this outfit. It makes her look twice her size! And the shoes are just terrible.
ReplyDeleteAnd her hair... Victoria should wear a centre parting. She looks much better with one.
Hilda
Agree to everything you said.

No one looks good with a center part... :)

I like the shoes with this combination. It's a crazy choice and I like this move. The impression to be double size is created by the short jacket. Without it she would look fantastic. Frieda
DeleteThe shoes!!! I love them.
ReplyDeleteAnd the dress.
Me too, so festive! I think she looks great.

I don't really like this jacquet, cannot however explain why
ReplyDeleteAnother great Christmassy dress--we've had so much orange, red and burgundy over the last couple of days. Very festive and cheering. The shoes are just gorgeous
ReplyDeleteYes, she looks great!
DeleteLove this tradition which always appears to be a very happy occasion for everyone involved! Great red dress, especially the full skirt, for CP Victoria. Does anyone know why the delivery is made so close to Christmas? Do they use these trees for decorating or is this ceremonial?
ReplyDeleteBecause they are Christmas trees.
DeleteIt is an old tradition in Sweden to wait until the 23 december to decorate the tree. Then we celebrate christmas on the 24.
DeleteAno 20:39 it was the tradition in Scandinavia. My mom still do this, but today with artificial trees most of us decorate our trees early. I decorate mine when advent starts and so do a lot of my friends too. For non scandinavians this means the 4th Sunday before christmas. Greetings from Norway
DeleteNatural fir trees do not "keep their leaves" when inside the central-heated houses. (Sorry I don't remember the right words and cannot find a dictionary). That's why a natural fir tree is brought inside on the 23rd. It's decorated either on the same evening or in the morning of 24th. Of course you can buy your fir earlier but then you have to store it on your balcony or somewhere else out-of-doors to keep it fresh. A fir newly brought in has a wonderful fragrance which artificial trees have not.
DeleteNowadays an artificial tree can be brought in any time.
Happy Christmas to all - whichever type of tree you have.
Margot
weird shaped shoes but a lovely pattern.

I absolutely love seeing Daniel smile a genuine smile. We see his smile so rarely. As for Victoria, I don't love her shoes. The way the toe pops up remind me of elf shoes.
ReplyDeleteOh, je ne suis vraiment pas fan de la veste noire, ni de ses chaussures multicolores ; afin de conserver l'esprit de Noël, j'aurais combiné la couleur de sa superbe robe avec une veste/boléro !
ReplyDeleteSuper look for Victoria. Love this dress and shoes. Sadly, Estelle and Oscar were not with them. Happy Holidays everyone. css
ReplyDeleteVestito anche se un po' troppo gonfio mi piace, è un bel rosso festoso.
ReplyDeleteLe scarpe proprio no, dovevano essere nere o rosse.

The coat is bulky and, as a result, Princess Victoria looks more broad-shouldered than she really is. In the third photo and those following, her body line is more natural. I like the red dress, and the shoes are festive. The coat, I'm sure, provides much needed warmth. Prince Daniel's smile is wonderful, and he and Victoria appear to have had a good time.
ReplyDeleteFor me the jacket does not go to with my the dress
ReplyDeleteLuna
I guess the dress without the jacket is good…
ReplyDeleteMabel
Sad to say but to me Victoria looks very matronly in this outfit, with a nice pair of shoes that doesn't go with that look at all.
ReplyDeleteI loved it when they used to bring the children to this event, especially Oskar.

Love the red dress, not so keen on the jacket, but the shoes are gorgeous, love them.
ReplyDeleteI agree that she looks twice her size with the large skirt and large jacket. Together with the bun I must admit that she looks like Mrs Santa Clause.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I don’t see the point in a (fake??) fur jacket on the upper half and bare feet in summer shoes on the lower half of this outfit. Scarlet Witch
ReplyDeleteMy thought as well.
DeleteI agree. The shoes don’t go with the winter look of the dress and jacket.
ReplyDeleteThe CP couple look beautiful on this occasion as well.
ReplyDeleteI like Victoria's festive red dress and the warm cozy teddy faux fur jacket looks like a necessary addition when moving along the huge corridors and halls of this Royal Palace.
There is surely central heating but It Is not enough in old royal residences.
Oh, Crown Princess Victoria, please.....you have the resources hiring a really good stylist. This is so out of everything......AC
