On November 1, 2022, the Countess of Wessex visited Angus town in Scotland and visited Forfar Early Learning Centre, which is a new purpose-built early learning and childcare centre. The Countess then met with some members of the local community to thank them for their work following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
Thereafter, the Countess attended a service of thanksgiving at Lowson Memorial Church, held in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Following the Service, the Countess met with some of the 200 members of the congregation.

Why is she wearing a coat indoors? The coat is beautiful and she looks great in it but I find it strange that she does not remove it. Ladyofthemanor
ReplyDeleteMost have coats on. Scottish churches are cold.
DeleteYou are right. Scottish (and English) churches are not noted for being confortably heated.
DeleteThe children and staff do not wear coats. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteThe colours of the coat and blouse are very flattering, and from what we can see the coat is an excellent fit through the shoulders. I agree that it's odd to see her wearing it indoors, but perhaps she was just on her way out when these last pictures were taken (V.M.).
ReplyDeleteLovely Sophie! Nice subtle colors let her face be the focus. Well done makeup. So glad she is embracing the natural curls in her hair instead of straightening it all the time. Her daughter Louise inherited her curls.
ReplyDeleteFirst impressions. The coat is far too long on Sophie. Why she feels the need to wear clothes that are too long is a mystery ! She has a good figure and would look superb in knee length structured items.
ReplyDeleteThis is the style.
DeleteAgree, this is the style plus the longer the coat is, the warmer you feel.
DeleteHaving lived in a northern European country, I can confirm that a long, three quarter length coat becomes your best friend during the winter months. The average temperature in Scotland today is around 9°C.
I now live in southern Europe and today our average temperature is around 20°C
I like her look today. css
ReplyDeleteIs an "early learning" center a pre-primary school, or is pre-primary a non-woke term (although precise)?
ReplyDeleteEarly learning centers are what might also be called nursey schools--usually the children are younger than those in kindergarten, meaning 2 to 4 yrs of age. It is a common term, and has been for decades, in the US. In the US, teachers for this age group are certified in Early Childhood Education.
DeleteThe Countess is looking marvelous today! Beautiful coat and blouse.

I met with Sophie once. She has a beautiful kind soul, and a warm disposition. She exudes grace and charm and always makes others feel at ease. She looks beautiful in these photos.
ReplyDeleteI love the coat, Sophie is wearing, the blouse is very pretty, feminine. This was a lovely visit. She does such wonderful work.
ReplyDeleteVery nice look, I think, although I agree with the "why wear a coat indoors?" faction. If the church were freezing cold, surely the children would be wearing warmer clothing, too? The blouse is a particular winner, lovely subtle pattern and colour, and goes great with Sophie's colouring.
