King Charles and the Queen Consort, formally greeted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at Horse Guards Parade in London as the two-day trip began. The Prince and Princess of Wales greeted President Ramaphosa on behalf of The King, at the Corinthia Hotel before they travelled together to Horse Guards Parade for the Ceremonial Welcome ceremony. The Princess wore a bespoke coatdress by Emilia Wickstead.
The Royal ladies are looking splendid in their outfits, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteyes indeed. i like Catherine's tribute to princess Diana, wearing her brooch.
DeleteKate looks gorgeous here, love that color. Just class and elegance. Camilla's blue is good too, nice to see her in a bright color.

The Princess of Wales has glorious, beautiful hair. I imagine she would like to hang on to it as long as possible-or perhaps her husband wants her too?- in any case it's a little too long at this point imo. A nice trim would do wonders.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The hair is too long. She would benefit from a more modern, youthful coupe. It’s beautiful but It would look better on a teenager.
DeleteSo, every Catherine post includes people complaining that someone things her hair is too long. So, we know how you feel, and maybe we don't need comments on that with EVERY event?
Deleteshe has said a few times that William prefers it long, my guess that trumps what you want. She has gorgeous hair, wearing a fantastic outfit that fits her perfectly, she is so confident! A very regal Princess of Wales.

ReplyDeleteKate looks great. Gorgeous color. The dress is beautiful and very elegant. I would wear that myself, but rather with elegant boots. The hairstyle goes perfectly with the hat. Overall a very well chosen outfit for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteTwo times wow!! Camilla in her own classic style in an amazing royal blue trimmed with silk/satin. Especially this lovely small hat with the subtle feathers, great in one word. Although I am not fond of the Jackie Kennedy hat of Kate, her robe-manteau on the contrary is really exquisite. The autumn red colour is beautiful and the pleads give this ensemble a wonderful swing.
ReplyDeleteThe Jacqueline Kennedy pillbox is the best part of Kate's outfit for me. I have never seen a woman who looked bad in one. Sometimes I think it is Mrs. Kennedy's greatest gift to fashion!
DeleteThe Princess of Wales looks beautiful in this rich plum color, love the dress, the skirt falls well and has some swish. Her diamond and emerald brooch is divine, but her pearl earrings are a mismatch with this. I would have loved to see her wear the emerald earrings worn previously by Camilla and Diana, with this brooch, or alternatively a pearl suspended instead of the emerald with the brooch. Camilla looks lovely, her diamond and pearl brooch shown to its best advantage against her blue coat.
ReplyDeleteCamilla looks fine within her usual style. Catherine looks superb, the beautiful color, the elegant silhouette, the discreet hat and the fabulous brownish shoes, she could’ve taken the easy choice a wear black, but instead picked an unexpected color, love everything about this outfit.
ReplyDeleteCherry
Totally agree!!
DeleteCamilla’s coat: well done; Catherine’s dress-coat: stunning!

Kate looks so regal &, royal. Love coat dress & pill box hat. She is do elegant & does tge princess thing with grace Mary
ReplyDeleteLove autumnal choice of colour on Catherine. Beautiful cut & fit. I’m glad she chose the longer length, it’s more flattering. The waistband gives her sporty slim shape a finished look. I hope she cuts her hair. As lovely as it is here, on days when she hasn’t had it blown, it can look lacking in lustre.
ReplyDeleteCamilla knocked out the park with her look. I love her hat. The boots are a better look than shoes.
She is Queen Camilla. Why insist on calling her Queen Consort. Every queen of a sitting king is a queen consort but they are not called Queen Consort instead of Queen (name). Elizabeth II's mother was a queen consort but she was called Queen Elizabeth and then after her husband's death the Queen Mother. All queen consorts previously were called Queen (and then their name). They were never continually referred to as Queen Consort instead of Queen (Name).
ReplyDeleteCamilla only recently got the blessing from the Queen (Queen Elizabeth II) to be the queen consort, and there are still feelings about HOW she arrived at this place in her life by some people. If she is referred to by Queen Consort, I think that is something that is going to have to be lived with. It is a higher rank than most of us believed she would have until fairly recently. If this was a generation earlier, she would not have been married to Charles at all if he wanted to become king. For years, we have read comments about Catherine making a wonderful queen one day. Those weren't the typical comments we read about Camilla. That wasn't the way she was seen. It was more about how supportive she has been to Charles and the role she had taken in the royal family as the Duchess of Cornwall.
Delete@Karen & Anonymous I entirely share Anonymous' point of view. Patience will probably help.
DeleteI think we, in the UK, have become so used to saying ‘The Queen’ without any name for Her late Majesty. Similarity now, the reference is usually to the King. I’m a great fan of the lady but even to me Queen Camilla sounds odd. I am very happy with ‘ the King and Queen Consort’
DeleteI don't think you could find anyone who wouldn't like Catherine outfit. She looks really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAva
The color and cut of Kate's coat dress is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI am so in awe of this wonderful event, and I can not get myself to even critise the fashion. It is with proud that I can say, I have never thought that SA would be the first country to be hosted by the new King. (from a proudly South African)
ReplyDeleteBoth the Queen and Princess look amazing here. Love the deep plum for Catherine and the 2 tones of blue for Camilla. I especially love Catherine's pillbox hat--my favorite style and she wears it beautifully. So glad to see Catherine wearing some bigger daytime jewelry--the Princess of Wales brooch is a standout here against the plum background.

In how many different colours one needs almost similar dresses. Well, of course it is easy solution but is is also quite boring. And I must say that these monochrome outfits are not the best possible choice for a very tall body with slightly poor posture. The best part of Catherines outfit is the pill-box hat. -Siri
ReplyDeleteEnfin quelqu'un d'autre qui a remarqué que Catherine devrait surveiller et corriger sa posture pendant qu'elle est encore jeune.
DeleteThis is right up my alley. I love the pillbox hat, it's my favourite style of hat EVER and it suits Catherine's current hairstyle so well. I also love that she's finally chosen to wear some more substantial jewellery with her coatdresses. The plum colour is beautiful on her!
ReplyDeleteCamilla looks very lovely, too, especially the hat. Not over the top, but still some interest, well done! I just hope we see her in something different than her black boots eventually, though I can't argue that they wouldn't fit the current temperatures ;)
