On November 22, 2022, Dutch Queen Maxima visited the exhibition "Our Colonial Inheritance" at the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam. The exhibition focuses on Dutch colonial history in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, Indonesia and Suriname. There are ten themes that provide insight into how colonialism shaped the world of today.
The exhibition also pays attention to the continued effects of the Dutch colonial past, and to the resilience, creativity, and opposition of colonized countries and their people.
Gianvito Rossi Laura Leather Knee-high Boots
The color, the shape, the cape, the hair....a big fail all around. But great boots.
ReplyDeleteGetting a better view of the dress, with the cape open, I think as I previously said, this dress looks far better than anticipated. Queen Maxima would have to have one of the nicest smiles out there, lights up her entire face. She brings such joy and enthusiasm with her wherever she goes. A wonderful Queen and lady.
ReplyDeleteUgly colour. The cape looks like a piece of cloth put all around the shoulders with no shape.

ReplyDeleteThis capelet is a horror. Q Maxima is a beautiful lady why is she wearing agly cloth at times. css
ReplyDeleteThe midcentre separation of hair is an improvement.
ReplyDeleteThe dress nice, the “ cape” doesnot add anything,

All opinions are respectable of course, but as soon as clothes have some unconventional design, they are said "ugly". I don't think that is fair. Fortunately the blog does not discourage designers... The color is not ugly, it is typically a fall shade. The capelet ? I would not wear that, but I think it is interesting to see some (royal) ladies wearing it. That is what makes this blog interesting to visit. If there were only fully traditional outfits to look at, I would not visit it. Of course clothes should always be worn with at least some elegance.
ReplyDeleteWell said. A balanced and true comment/post.

Maintenant, je vois bien mieux la veste ceinturée sur une jupe mais je n'aurais pas voulu voir cette sorte de petite cape ; j'aime ses bottes en cuir souple qui ne sont pas du tout les mêmes que celles en photo !
ReplyDeleteFantastic boots, but the rest... nope. It looks like she pimped up a potato sack and called it a day.
