On November 26, 2022, Queen Margrethe of Denmark and Queen Sonja of Norway attended the premiere of the ballet performance "The Nutcracker 2022" at Tivoli Concert Hall in Tivoli. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were present at the gala in Tivoli.
Queen Margrethe is behind the scenography and costumes for "The Nutcracker", which is staged for the 5th time at Tivoli Concert Hall and plays until Christmas Eve. The Nutcracker is accompanied by Tivoli's own symphony orchestra, the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, which consists of 68 musicians.

I am not against royalty but curtsy should be abolish in 21 Century.

ABSOLUTELY!!!
DeleteYou are so right. That picture is grotesque. First I wasn’t sure what happened here . I thought that maybe the lady is falling or something…. Courtesy at the foyer of a concert hall…. How strange that look in 2022.
DeleteYes, the picture is grotesque especially since the "prince" is not looking at the lady. There is only one month left until 2023. Irene
DeleteNo one is obliged, or even forced, to bow or curtsey, in particular not in the Scandinavian monarchies. People do it of their own will. If that lady wanted to drop a curtsey then she's free to do so.
DeleteFredrick seems a tad embarrassed too. He's not even acknowledging the woman 🤔
DeleteNot even looking at the person that is curtsying embarrasses me more here,
DeleteMabel
CORRECTION: I just saw a picture in the Daily Mail from an another side: the lady is the CEO of the theatre, bowing to shake hands with the young prince!

I totally agree. As an Australian female I would not curtsy to any member of any royal family. I would bow my head as a sign of respect, however I would never curtsy to someone born into or married into a position of privilege, no matter the good deeds they may do.
DeleteI would however gladly genuflect to those who devote their lives developing vaccines & cures to dreadful diseases and those who devote their lives to others.
Princess Josephine is just as beautiful as her mother & Prince Vincent is gonna be a little heartbreaker someday.
ReplyDeleteLes jumeaux sont de plus en plus beaux ; ravissante la petite robe de Joséphine mais j'aurais plutôt choisi une écharpe de couleur unie comme du rouille !
ReplyDeleteWish we could see more of Queen Sonja's black dress with the pink belt. Lovely to see the two Queens smiling again!
ReplyDeleteFrederik doesn't seem to appreciate the curtsy - he seems rather embarrassed by it.

Contrairement aux jumeaux de Monaco c'est la fille la plus grande..Ils sont très beaux. Sonja est très bien aussi et elle n'a pas cédé aux cheveux blancs ce qui la rend plus jeune que d'autres.
ReplyDeleteMy twins were the same at nearly twelve, my daughter was almost a head taller than her brother but now at almost twenty five the top of her head is up to his shoulder only. He started sprouting at around thirteen. Jj
DeleteThe twins are growing up. Josephine's dress is lovely, she is beautiful. Queen Sonja's dress looks interesting, I would love to see more photos of her, see what she is wearing.
ReplyDeleteNice turn out, it seems Josephine is taller than her brother Vincent. Beautiful children. I like the MK dress Josephine wears. From Mary's outfit one can see too much nice combination, the blue is coat is very lovely. Nice to see Q Sonja there too. css
ReplyDeletePrincess Mary looks to be wearing a pants suit and a coat.
ReplyDeletePrince Frederik looks as if he’s had a bit of a wash and polish for the occasion.
Those twins are just so handsome.
Princess Josephine looks smart in her Michael Kors dress.
Don’t know if the black stockings are the best colour for a girl of her age (12 years old).
Very soon she’ll be able to do her shopping in her mother’s wardrobe.

I’d say he’s going to be a big heart breaker.
Nice to see the two Queens, who are in their eighties, sharing the occasion together.
Queen Margrethe’s skirt and top fits in well with the theme of the evening.
Queen Sonja never hits a false note with her ensembles.
Deadeggs - pour old thing, how is hubby? Black stockings for the young ones - so shocking - you should use your Sears as a fan. Maybe hubby could help. OMG this old biddys here give me the creeps! Specially, when they try to be funny...Liv
DeleteDear Liv : Thanks for asking about my hubby. He’s doing well, you know.
DeleteStill obsessed with his fishing.
It would be nice if you could drop the “old” when you talk about us biddies.
Thanks in advance and sorry for being a bit of a fusspot.
Liv, you must be the oldest of all
DeleteLove these pictures it looks so cold &, everyone is rugged up. They all look well dressed. Love Mary's coat. I wonder if Josephine borrowed that scarfe from Mary. I have seen Mary wrap her scarfe around her in a similar fashion perhaps Josephine got the tip from her mum.
ReplyDeleteThese two are going to be the beauties in this family. He is so handsome and she is such an attractive young lady.
ReplyDeleteJosephine - simply wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks good but the twins are definitely stole the show. Princess Josephine is such a beauty, looks a lot like her mother, and woow Prince Vincent, so so handsome! Heartbreaker for sure, big time!
ReplyDeletePrincess Josephine is growing up into a beauty. How quickly time passes.
