Today, on November 19, The Principality of Monaco is celebrating Monaco’s National Day 2022. The people of Monaco also name this day as Sovereign Prince Day. A Te Deum service held at the Monaco Cathedral was the first event of official celebrations and attended by Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie.
Prince Albert, Princess Charlene, Prince Jacques, Princess Gabriella, Princess Caroline, Princess Stephanie, Pierre Casiraghi, Beatrice Borromeo, Charlotte Casiraghi, Dimitri Rassam, Princess Alexandra, Andrea Casiraghi, Tatiana Santo Domingo, Louis Ducruet, Marie Chevallier, Camille Gottlieb and Pauline Ducruet attended military parade as part of ceremonies marking the National Day 2022.

A huge upgrade from Stephanie, wow! wearing heels, beautiful red suit. Caroline always the master class on how its done.
ReplyDeleteCharlene!! what is this? it even has a train! like a wedding gown! your stylist made a joke at your expense and everyone around you is in on it. I don't understand why she has to dress like the priest on these church events.
well, at least she is Happy.
I agree with you about Charlene, her outfit made me laugh.
DeleteAva
Can’t find anywhere amongst the royal sites, the name of the designer of Princess Charlene’s ensemble for the Te Deum service today in Monaco.
DeleteI’d take a guess and say it from the South African designer, Terrence Bray.
He has done a lot of work for the Princess and his work often has a ‘theatrical’ style about it.
Her fashion sense always (for the most part) is quite good, though I'm not sure about this outfit, actually black&white is never a mistake. She is such a lovely woman.
DeleteYes surprising, questionable outfit for Charlene. More than ever I agree "less is more".
DeleteCharlene's outfit is by Akris.
DeleteVanessa
Thanks for the information. @Anon 23:38
DeleteI’m surprised her dress is by AKRIS.
It’s got more of the flamboyance of a Terrence Bray design.about it.
p.s. please don’t tell anybody but I like it 🙂
I agree.
DeleteLouis Ducruet and his wife, Marie Chevallier confirmed the news that they were expecting their first child.

DeleteStrange difference in interpretation of dress- code.
ReplyDeleteLove Carolines Chanel suit, and Stephanie also looking good.
Charlene stays an enigma to me,

Best dressed today, in wonderful colors, Princess Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteI am not at all a fan of Charlene’s ensemble, the black and white, the cape sort of backside, the length (too long) and the hat and gloves with it. I can appreciate that this is her style, and that she feels comfortable in wearing it, but that’s her.
//AA
I am sorry but I do not like this dresscoat of Charlene at all. Although it's well taylored and with her length and figure she wears it well, but it makes me think of a white chasuble for priests. The hat is imv also not the best model for her. Her head is almost disappearing in it. Caroline in a wonderful pink Chanel dress and Stephanie, who normally does not seem very interested in fashion, looks great in this suit in a wonderful colour combination with the accessories.
ReplyDeleteYes. Were it not for the black hat it could pass as a modern vestment for the Pope. Luckily, Beatrice Borromeo-Casiraghi once again knocked them all out of the park!
DeleteExactly! Charlene's frock (it doesn't seem to fit in the "dress" category) looks like a priest's frock, as did the black full-length, high-neck frock she wore to the St. Devote 2019 church service, and the deep navy (appears black) frock with fuchsia piping/lining on National Day 2020, mirrored in the all-black ensemble with fuchsia beret at Saint Devote 2021 church service, and again a black high-necked frock to QEII's service. To me this repeated dressing in pseudo-priest frocks feels like she is mocking the church and/or has extremely poor judgement or taste. Not classy in a public figure who needs to consider her influence as a role model on her children and other young people.
DeleteMy favorite today is Tatiana, her entire ensemble including jewelry, hat & make-up are spot on. Love her lipstick color, unlike Beatrice's too pale neutral. My 2nd favorite is Camille Gottlieb, who IMO usually dresses chic and tastefully. S.M.
What is this? Spanish inqvisition or cholera doctors from Naples? Or maybe a shinto priest from Japan?
ReplyDeleteIt is truly weird and unbecoming.
Deletelol
DeleteAva
I agree, very weird..
DeleteAgree too!
DeleteCharlene´s outfit actually made me think of Zorro, especially in the outdoor photo where her face is half-shaded. It also has a distinct clerical vibe. I cannot say that I like it (the black and white is too harsh, and the whole outfit too theatrical), but I like how it gets everyone´s fantasy spinning by uniting so many different vibes into one outfit.
DeleteLol! What a great comment for a terrible outfit
DeleteLuna
Princess Caroline is the winner for me today with princess Stephanie second. Princess Charlene ooks like someone at about the beginning of the last centuary who is going for a ride in an open topped vehicle and needs to cover herself to stay clean in a white duster coat.
ReplyDeleteI do not like Charlene dresscoat either, a simple white coat to the knee would have been fine, in my opinion Beatrice Borromeo and Princess Caroline look stunning and classy, I would give and 'A' for effort to Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteMJT
You are right.
DeletePauline
Yes to Beatrice, Stephanie and congrats to Jacques and Gabriella.
ReplyDeleteTrue.
DeletePauline
The twins looks adorable. Charlene marches to a different drummer. Caroline looks matronly; Stephanie has upped her style and looks great. The others are too numerous to mention.
ReplyDeleteObviously I am the odd one here I like Charlene's outfit. Stunning and how cute isn't Gabriella in a hat, and Jaques in uniform. I personally find these Chanel suit's a little formless nothing to write home about. Beatrice and Stephanie on the other hand looks great in red.
ReplyDelete100% Agree.
DeleteI am with you, I love Charlene in this. She can pull it off, looks fantastic. The children look absolutely adorable. Beatrice also looks stunning in that red outfit. Stephanie sure stepped it up and looks fantastic.
DeleteChel
Charlene looks like a Dominican friar. I like the little princess’s outfit, but the military uniform on her brother is crazy. Does Monaco even have a military?
ReplyDeleteMonaco has no army and air force. Defence of the nation is provided by France.
DeleteAva
What's crazy about it? The Princes of Monaco have been wearing military uniforms for events like these for centuries.
DeletePrincess Anne and Prince Edward not only wear uniforms but have high ranks in a country with a military. It could be argued that those positions should go to someone that has been in the military, not the "family". At least with Albert, we know it is ceremonial. Jacque is in training for his future role.
DeleteI agree. I´m all for national costumes but the uniform on Jacques strikes a wrong chord for me.
DeleteIt is a police uniform. The same as his father wears from time to time.
DeleteEnvy is a disease.
DeleteIt's the dress uniform (dark version) of the Compagnie des Carabiniers du Prince. And, the Prince and his heir are, of course, entitled to wear their uniform. Prince Albert is Commander-in-Chief.
DeleteMonaco has a palace guard, but it isn't very numerous. According to an old interview Albert has served in the French Army (if I remember it correctly). During WWII prince Rainier served in the army of Free France (under general de Gaulle). In earlier generations (eg. prince Louis) the princes of Monaco usually had military training in the French army.
DeleteMargot
ReplyDeleteAllora entrambe, vedi foto n.2 😉
DeleteRossella🌹
ReplyDeleteQuatsch!

Brava @ Anon 15:04
DeleteI thought Princess Caroline was Princess Alexandra (of Britain) for a moment. Clearly I was thrown off my game by Princess Charlene’s getup.
ReplyDeleteI think Charlene’s outfit could’ve been passable on a tea -midi length, I, as most commenters not a fan of this outfit, however it’s possible to dislike a dress without demeaning the person, NO Missy I don’t think people were laughing at her, I would hope that they are kinder. Beatrice as usual looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteCherry
Interesting National Day for the ladies of Monaco. My best dressed is Princess Stephanie with Princess Caroline and Beatrice Barromeo Cassaraghi tied for 2nd place. I was really impressed by Princess Charlene until I saw the whole outfit and I have no idea who sold her on this outfit but its pretty awful. Had the length been street length this could have been a stunning outfit for her but she looks like a cross between a Mother Superior and a member of the famed Spanish Riding School. Jacques and Gabriella look adorable--I love, love, love Gabriella's outfit. Stephanie's look is simple and elegant--spare very much suits her. Caroline's candy pink is lovely but I can't give her 1st place because her sister so upped her game this time out. Beatrice is gorgeous as always but there is something off about how her jacket is fitted--its probably just the photos though. It took me awhile to find Charlotte--what has she done to her hair? She really looks quite blah.
ReplyDeleteJanet
ReplyDeleteBeatrice and Caroline are the best dressed. I especially like Beatrice hat with that kind of suit , she looks very elegant as always.
ReplyDeleteAva
Yes, Beatrice B. was (is) a picture of elegance.
DeletePauline
Charlene's outfit is different, but I think it is sophisticated and just right for her. Why attack what a woman wears who is recovering from a serious illness and is just now venturing out in public again? She looks marvelous, healthy and happy. She has the body type that can carry off an outfit like this. Good for her!
ReplyDeleteNobody is attacking Charlene, I think all of us don't like to see her sad and wish her happiness . We are just commenting about her outfit which some people like it and others don't. After all this site is to talk about fashion not about illnesses someone had or has.
DeleteAva
I agree with Ava. 18.53
DeletePauline
I have a slightly off-topic question. Are engagement rings worn in Monaco? I've never seen ring on Bea or Tatiana hand...
ReplyDeleteRenee
Beatrice is the stand out for me. She’s such an elegant woman.
ReplyDeleteI don’t know what’s going on with Charlene’s abstract fashion choice !
The children as always steal the show . Seeing all the family together is lovely.
Anyone know where Charlotte, Pierre and Andrea live with their families? In Monaco or elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteRenee
Pierre lives in Monaco + a country house in Southern France, Andrea in London and Charlotte in Paris.
DeletePss Stephanie looks splendid, her outfit is lovely, shoes are divine. Love the addition of the scarf. Pss Caroline looks very elegant, the addition of the pink amethyst and diamond earrings are beautiful. Beatrice's red suit is fabulous, both in fit, length, color and shape, love her shoes and hat. Princess Alexanndra's black coat is a fail for me, too long and shapeless. Tatiana's suit from what I can see looks lovely. Little Pss Gabriella looks beautifully groomed, her hat and coat look fabulous. I realize this is the style that Pss Charlene likes, and good on her for her unique style. Unfortunately it is very unusual, I want to like it but its features are rather strange. Its great to see such a large family presence.
ReplyDeleteI have just noted the brooch Pss Charlene wore, on another site. Its stunning appears to be bow shape, maybe! regardless gorgeous diamonds glistening, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTrès belle broche. Cost 187.000, -euros - why not, when you are married to the Prince of Monaco.
DeletePauline
She looks like a cross between a surgeon and Zorro! If that's what passes for modern I'll look elsewhere.
DeleteCaroline may look mémère to you but she does have 7 grandchildren so completely appropriate. I, on the other hand, think she looks classic rather than frumpy.
Charlene continues to baffle me. Strikes me as a pack of insecurities that she chooses to manifest through fashion and the odd embraces of random athletes, some borderline frivolous. I certainly understand the pressure of always being under the spotlight, but it’s still unclear how she’s going to get through her life as a royal like this.
ReplyDeleteCan’t say I am particularly surprised by the outfit choices of the other ladies. Caroline and Charlotte in Channel, Beatrice in Dior. Tatiana was less predictable. Stephanie finally found a good outfit. Her daughters… no surprise there either.
CH
I agree with what you are saying about Charlène.
DeletePauline
I agree with you in what you are saying about Charlène. Pauline
L'immagine umana dei diffamatori è estremamente spaventosa.
ReplyDeleteI truly think that Charlene beats them all. She is making an art statement amd is nog following the main stream. I love the fact that she is brave enough to do something different. So my opinion: this is wow and 100 points
ReplyDeleteAgree.
ReplyDeleteIt surely is an unconventional choice from Charlene.
ReplyDeleteI am torn: on the one hand, this Akris outfit is a work of art , absolutely classy with its sharp contrast between black and white.
I feel that the idea Is there but there are faults in the execution.
First of all, it is not a dresscoat, but a pant suit.
The main quibble is the eccessive width and the great amount of fabric going on in the pants.
If the trousers had been ankle length and more structured allowing black stiletto pumps to be seen, I am sure that the effect would have been terrific and the back detail would have added interest to the overall ensemble.
Make up and the simple jewelry are spot on.
Beatrice is a vision, absolutely fabulous and polished.
All children look marvellous.
My congrats to Anonymous on her multifaceted, multi- signed and snarky comments.
She won the first prize for wasting away another day in her life tarnishing a royal lady just to feel alive.
This is the saddest way to seek a tiny bit of attention.
If she does not like an outfit it is alright but she only needs to say it once and than stop it or otherwise she will resonate as the hater she really Is..
Multi-signed? Please explain.
DeleteWe should be careful not sounding mean, bitter and hateful ourselves criticising others...

Hi all, again. Look at it with an arty eye. The rest are so boring. She is making a statement with her clothes. This makes her stand out from the group with their conventional clothes edging on boredom. Congratulations Charlene
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. She is easily the most interestingly dressed, and the number of comments about her (positive or negative) proves the point. Her height and posture pull off the look of this dress where few could achieve.
Delete- Anon 9:13
So you think Royalty should be a fashion-contest? Compare this to the calm dignity and friendlyness of Luxembourgs Stephanie. That is why I can't take the Grimaldi-Clan serious.
DeleteYes, but what is the statement? I don't think this is the occasion - the rest may be boring but they all dressed that way for a reason. Be edgy at other events, by all means.
DeleteThe outfit had a black belt when she got into the car at the Palace but was no longer there by the time they arrived at Mass. I don't especially like the outfit but it did look better with the belt.
She looked like one of the clergy - in the procession into church there was little apart from the hat to distinguish her from Father Penzo walking in front of her. There have been a few occasions where she seems to take inspiration from Catholic vestments. She did it at National Day a couple of years ago when she looked like a wannabe cardinal and she channeled the village priest at Sainte-Dévote one year.
@Coralie No, it's not a competition. She didn't wear that dress purposely to be different from the others and put the spotlight on herself (at least I don't think she did for that reason) but she wore what she liked and what pleased her. As we by now well know, Charlene has her own style ideas with a distinct preference for the Akris brand and their style catalogue and here once again, she was being true to herself. That's all. It's safe to say that her style will almost always be distinct from her female Grimaldi relatives - and each of them also have their style favourites and preferences (or none at all) as we know only too well. :)
Delete- Anon 9:13
First of all I love that Charlene is healthy and together with her family. The style of this dresscoat is not my personal taste, I think she looks like a priest, although black and white suits her very well. Stephanie and Beatrice in red are the winners for me. Margarita
ReplyDeleteAnswer to Anonymous 21.31
DeleteVery good comment. This strange (and certainly well-tailored) dress makes her stand out (this is perhaps what she wants) - but at the same time it looks ridiculous, overdone. She reminds one of a goddess or the leading nun of a convent a hundred years ago.
Pauline
I was ready to surprise myself by giving the best dressed award to Stephanie, who looks the best we've seen her in the recent past! That was until I saw the ever-stunning Beatrice Borromeo. WOW!
ReplyDeleteI do not like Charlene's look at all. She looks like a mixture of a priest and a Star Wars character. I guess it's elegant and sleek, so it suits her as such, but it can definitely stay at the back of her wardrobe for the rest of eternity.
-Nika-
I think there's more to Charlene than an ear infection, it's deeper than that, I'm glad she's back out and about.. She'll find her feet again.
ReplyDeleteCharlene 's outfit is a rare miss since she has returned to public duties. The children are so cute and beautiful, and I really like Gabriella's red coat she owned it! Beatrice is stunning, and I was pleasently surprised by Stephanie.
ReplyDeleteDespite everything, I think that Monaco royals are a close-knit family.
MARIE
It is so good to see Tatiana wearing an incredibly chic outfit — not even a hint of a weird vibe…hope to see her in more like this. Btw, where is Alexandra? I miss her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coat, love it Charlene is the picture perfect again. Beatrice red suit and Gabriella's red coat are super nice. Alexandra's coat seem to swallow her up. Little Jaques in uniform he is so cute wearing it. css
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see the whole family there. I can't wait to see Princess Stephanie become a grandmother to.
