Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima are making a state visit to Greece at the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou. On the second day of their visit, the King and Queen visited the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center to see the World Press Photo Exhibition on women’s rights, titled 'Resilience – stories of women inspiring change'.

Wonderful outfit, the best outfit of this year. She's looking stunning. She should really ditch Natan and wear more Dutch designers.
ReplyDeleteI
She should! Am sure she gets more positive feedback when its not Natan. Km
DeleteAgree. Well done, Queen Maxima. This outfit is a great choice in spite of being so pale. The broad cummerbund like belt looks so much better than the wide chunky belts she sometimes wears. Love the head band which gives the extra touch of elegance.
DeleteMaxima looks good - chic.

Very interesting take on coat dress/cape and it looks really good. A bit tight as per usual Maxima but no wrinkles. I would have left the bridal reef home and worn a simpler headband.

I agree
DeleteTotally agree. Great outfit which flatters her very much.
DeleteWhat is a bridal reef?
DeleteNouvelle tenue fort bien portée mais je remplacerais son serre-tête fleurie par un bandeau plus simple !
ReplyDelete*Chef's kiss* Perfection! When Queen Maxima gets it right, she really gets it right. The fit and style are classic with modern elements. The colour is beautiful but would also look lovely in a bolder colour too. Her hair is styled loose but elegant with the flower headband. This could be an all time, daytime best for Queen Maxima.
ReplyDeleteH.
I like this. The soft shade suits her really well and I'm a fan of the floral headband. I might not have needed the cape as it looks very dramatic compared to all the men and women in "normal" suits. But oh well, I guess it's Maxima and as far as daywear goes, this is certainly a good look.

Mi piace questo abito-mantello e mi sembra di averla già vista con questo outfit che forse, dovrebbe essere un po' più morbido sui fianchi.
ReplyDeleteNo a quel cerchio enorme fiorito sul capo.

This dress is a repeat. She wore it the first time on a state visit to the U.K. If I remember correctly it was also during that visit that King Willem Alexander received the order of the Garther. That year they also participate to the Ascot races.
ReplyDeleteThe dress itself is beautiful and fits Queen Maxima very well. The large belt should be replaced by a thin one. The large belt makes her look high-waisted which she isn't.
Si, esatto. Guglielmo Alessandro e Felipe di Spagna furono insigniti dell'Ordine della Giarrettiera.

I don't know about this dress. Indeed worn at the UK State Visit. Although QM has a wonderful figure I think this is a dress for an even more slim figure as on the model. The wide belt just under the breasts makes it all look too tight. Do not like the cape either. But QM is never dressed very classical and dull. She is always adventurous in her choices.
ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic outfit! The second photo with the cape floating perfectly looks like a choreographed scene from a movie!
ReplyDeleteThis is a outstanding look for the Queen. I love the repeat of this gorgeous dress, the interesting cape effect is splendid. I did prefer the last wear purely because her hair was up, regardless, perfect look today. Love her accessories.
ReplyDeleteA very chic and elegant look for Q Maxima. Have not seen her like this in a long time. The jewels are to die for. css
ReplyDeleteYou are right, I think the same.

The belt is too big and it seems to cut her in two, and the hair piece is too childish. The king looks rumpled.
ReplyDeleteLove this look for Queen Maxima--she looks very chic. I would choose a thinner belt though. I also like her bespoke version much better than what the models are wearing--the cape is fabulous!

I like this a lot, it looks stunning. Nice colour as well, and well accessorized.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I find it too dramatic for the occasion. It´s too glamourous (making her hosts look boring), and she´s towering over the president (making her look tiny). Maxima is extravagant and flamboyant, but since she´s visiting a republic (less pomp) and a host who dresses rather modestly, she could have toned down the glamour. And since her host is very short, she could have opted for lower heels and skipped the extra hair ornament in order to not dwarf the president (unnecessarily).
well said! Ladyofthemanor
DeleteMax at her elegant best here - yes overdressed compared to others but she’s a Queen…and if I was her I’d take my chances too! Would love to trim the kings hair into a more modern flattering style - he can look very good at some occasions when it’s styled but normally seems untidy. JJ
ReplyDeleteAt the same time businesslike and elegant: I think this is a good choice, and the hairpiece in this combination quite tolerable.
ReplyDeleteI loathe her shoes: put her legs in a strange position, not elegant, heels should be lower I think.
