Crown Princess Victoria is making a 2-day official visit to the Kenya's capital Nairobi. On November 21, Crown Princess Victoria arrived in Nairobi. Crown Princess Victoria attended a reception hosted by Sweden's Ambassador to Kenya Caroline Vicini, at the Swedish embassy in Nairobi. The Crown Princess is an advocate for UN Global Goals, in which she retains a particular focus on sustainability, the sea and fishing.
Is there no end to these high eked, frilly, flower patterned dresses. The colour combination is lovely but the design is not. ladyofthemanor
ReplyDeleteNo. There's no end to these dresses.
DeleteWe've been told to buy less and keep clothes longer in order to lessen growing problems with the textiles waste. Then look at the public figure in yet another new dress that is similar to the ten other dresses she already owns and could have easily worn again without any need to buy another new one.... :(
Don't like the style of the dress at all. When you already have patterned fabric, then it is better to keep the style simple instead of all those frills and tucks that compete for attention. Less is more!

I agree.
DeleteI I like it!
DeleteI ment high neck
DeleteThis is a pretty gown, it has some interesting features. I'm not sure about the waist of this gown, a closer look would be beneficial, I will have to search. Not a fan of the earrings.
ReplyDeleteWhen princesses flock to Africa advocating for xyz you know that the UN is ramping up its Africa agenda.
ReplyDeleteRegarding fashion: I think this whole getup is totally wrong. Big floaty floral nightgown and massive plastic-y earrings. I cannot think of any occasion for which this dress would be suitable. It certainly doesn´t say "reception", nor would I wear it to discuss sea and fishing matters. Well, maybe she brought it because it is wrinkle-free and therefore well-suited for the tropical climate and easily survives a long trip.
The lady in the black-and-white dress (I assume it´s Sweden´s ambassador to Kenya) is dressed so much better.
Vanessa, I agree on both points: UN and fashion.
DeleteI finally figured it out - it is a wearable mosquito tent :) Ladyofthemanor
DeleteLove this pretty, feminine dress on Victoria--very princessy in a good way. I might have changed the neckline to soften it some but the dress is very flattering to her. The vibrant colors are beautiful for her and perfect for the setting. But--sorry, those earrings are a total no for me.

Those earrings!
ReplyDeleteNice gown, but her smile is a winner. Since she is in Nairobi maybe she or the Gov people should have invited Count Ferdinand of Habsburg, he lives I believe in Nairobi and work there for the UNPD as well. css
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks too much like a nightdress. In my opinion Victoria looks much better in more tailored styles.
ReplyDeleteWhy not mention the swedish ambassadör Caroline Vicini?
ReplyDeleteA hard working woman who has teamchef this position on her own merits. Mention her or don’t show her.
Blog is about the Royals.
Deleteshe was mentioned
DeleteCP Victoria looks pretty in these pastel colors. Her earrings are certainly making a statement! I hope she has a good visit in Nairobi.
ReplyDeleteThe colors and pattern of the dress are lovely, but all of the details (ruffles, ruching, keyhole) at the neck, waist, arms, and skirt overwhelm the dress. Love her shoes and appreciate her bright smile as usual.
ReplyDeleteI hoped CPV had moved away from these high necked, frilly, floral dresses, but clearly she has not. I much prefer her in sleeker styles. The huge earrings are a miss as well. Perhaps they are nice quality, but from a distance they look like inexpensive plastic. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteBen vestita l'altra signora.

Victoria, dear, you cannot wear a grandma Moses dress and cheap looking earrings.
ReplyDeleteCut the skirt in half and do away with those flowers in your ears and it would be quite nice!

ReplyDeleteVictoria clearly loves those dresses and this isn't the worst one she has in her wardrobe. I wish she'd chosen some different earrings, though - the style doesn't fit at all.

ReplyDeleteThen why show others than royals?
There is nothing wrong with giving some context to what the royal persons actually are doing.
Anonymous 05:26,
ReplyDeleteApparently the person writing this blog shared my view sinne the text has now been altered.
From information on the net, it appears Princess Victoria wore the “By Melina” Adriana dress in May of 2019 when she visited Vietnam with Prince Daniel.
ReplyDeleteThe fashion house “By Melina” is a Swedish based fashion brand.
The designer behind the brand is a young married woman with two children known as Malin Andrén. Born in Brazil (?) Her mother was a teacher (professor) in the world of textiles. Malin learnt to sow at a very young age.
Some of her gowns have been seen in the presentation of Nobel Prize ceremonies in Sweden.
It could have been nice, but the sleeves ruined it somehow. Too much, too fluffy.

Al igual que otra participante, pienso que menos es mas. En un vestido tan "dibujado" y con varios colores, lo demás para mi sobra. Los pendientes, exagerados, sin ninguna duda.
ReplyDeletenoreen,
ReplyDeleteNo she wasn’t but the text has been changed.
So pretty!

Definitely not a royal's outfit, and definitely not for Africa. Princess Victoria tends to go for frills, instead she should be more classical and elegant. Does she have to wear plastic earings with all the selection of jewels she has? Simple pearl studs or any other stone would make her appear elegant. Sorry I don't like fussy looks at the best of times even less on a splendid royal to be queen in the distant future.
