On the evening of October 12, 2022, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands hosted a concert for their Swedish hosts and invited guests at Stockholm Concert Hall in Stockholm. The concert was given by the Tim Kliphuis Ensemble. Swedish King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, and Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia were present at the concert.

It really looks like a good time was had by all! ………. AnaMaria
ReplyDeleteIndeed. Nice to see them all in a relaxed mode and enjoying themselves.
DeletePrincess Sofia's dress seems like it has too much fabric, and it looks a bit expose at the same time. It is a weird gown
ReplyDeleteLove Maxima and Victoria's gowns. It seems all the Swedish ladies invested on a new wardrobe for this state visit.

I agree completely. Great choices for Maxima and Victoria. Each gown works perfectly well for their personal styles. As for Sophia I also agree with you... her choices of dresses are beyond my comprehension : she is so beautiful and can choose from all the gowns in the world and still.... the result is weird.
DeleteQn Maxima's dress is a reuse, not fond of the naked imitation in the top part.
DeleteQueen Maxima looks stunning and Crown Princess Victoria looks gorgeous .Queen Silvia is very elegant as usual and Princess Sofia looks lovely .
ReplyDeleteI've always liked this dress on Maxima and this time is no exception. She looks great in it.
ReplyDeleteNext best for me is P. Sofia where the free falling sleeves accentuate the free flow of this glittering gown. The blue grey colour reigns in the look from being to bright or splashy and I like that too.
Queen Sylvia's outfit looks very nice once the cape comes off - the sparkling skirt complements the matte top. I only wish that the shade was a slightly richer green.
Which brings me to Victoria. I think that she has a very lovely gown...but the feathered fringe ruins it for me. I'm actually a fan of feathered fringes when used in the right way (sparingly, with a tiny pearl or other white jewel attached for weight, and only as an occasional accent) but not in the way used here. The gown would have looked stunning without the fringe. Cowgirl fringed shirt vibes instead.

Wow, another win for Queen Maxima!
ReplyDeleteVictoria looks great.
ReplyDeleteMaxima's dress is not flattering.
Sophia and Sylvia are ok but nothing special.
Kim
Agreed, Victoria looks absolutely amazing. Another knock out for her.

Wow. All of our royal ladies look lovely, but I think Queen Maxima takes the top vote for me. Her hair, and gown are perfect, along with a beautiful cape. Nothing too over the top. Perfect jewelry. Everyone looks stunning and quite glamorous. Especially the gentlemen in their well fitted Tux's.
ReplyDeleteQ. Maxima and CP Victoria take top marks again tonight! Love Max’s accessories, especially that huge sapphire and diamond necklace. Victoria’s feather dress is really interesting, in a good way, and a perfect fit. Both of their husbands are also very well dressed and look handsome in their tuxes. Silvia and Sofia’s outfits both fall flat for me.
ReplyDeleteGet in quick dear bloggers. The WOW list is filling up fast.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia's outfit: Lovely!
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima: A tad over the top, and do not like the side or neckline cutouts. The over the top material of the cape was just too much material.
Princess Sophie's dress was a beautiful color and looked really good on her.
I'm on the fence about the pure white dress with fringe on the sleeves that CP Victoria wore. Jane
Non sono frange, ma piccole piume.
DeleteComunque era meglio senza.

Queen Maxima looks splendid in her evening gown, love the diamond and emerald jewels, earrings and necklace, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia looks very elegant, and CP Victoria looks beautiful. Daniel looked impeccably groomed, his tux, perfect.
I adore Queen Maxima’s fabulous necklace. Princess Sofia looks overloaded, reminds me of a Hollywood performance. A sweet couple although their handholding irritates me.
ReplyDelete🌞 Virginia
oh yes.... check out that necklace! beautiful must be heavy to wear..
ReplyDeleteIris van Herpen the Dutch designer of QM's dress. She experiments with all kind of textiles. This amazing dress has been worn by QM before.
ReplyDeleteI would find it a very interesting and beautiful dress if it were not for the beige side parts supposed to look like a bare midriff. I find them tacky. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteLove Victoria in white, becomes her; Sofia has her own special style, this one reminds me of the 1920th, very good.
ReplyDeleteMaxima: Total impression very good: the big precious stone in front makes the dress. The dress itself: the printed lines are flowing wonderfull, but the neckline seems not to fit good, so, donot know..
Mabel
@Mabel.
DeleteI agree with you about Princess Victoria’s dress - I love it
But I think there is a poetic message related to her dress.
That is, she is saying in a poetic, indirect way.......
“Birds of a (royal) feather flock together”.
Could I be right?
The lines of QM dress are not printed but embroidered
DeleteI agree on Princess Sofia. Don't be like everyone else or try to be someone you aren't. Stick to what makes you, you. I like it. Sometimes it is a hit, sometimes it isn't. But that is everyone out there. Just be yourself and wear what you like. Because, ultimately, it is your closet. You are stuck with what is in it and you have to wear it. She looks fantastic in blue, by the way. Sarah
DeleteI was surprised reading a lot of negative comments on the Dutch website "Modekoningin Maxima" about this dress. I've always liked it. It is a wearable piece of art. Love her jewelry too, not too overdone this time.
ReplyDeleteI also love CP Victoria cream dress, especially when she stands up. The use of feathers is also something very on trend lately. It is not overdone on CP Victoria's dress and I like it. Queen Silvia's dress from what we can see of, looks very elegant too. Perhaps a bit too dark. Princess Sofia's dress reminds indeed the 1920ees, like somebody said, but is also a bit too dark, a lighter blue would have been better.
Woe... what a night. All the Ladys looks fantastic. But CP Victoria is the winner to me. So beautiful
ReplyDeleteSomething about the overlay on Maxima’s gown makes my eyes hurt, lol. Kind of like the Op Art of the 1960s…it seems to be one of those dresses that evoke strong reactions, either positive or negative. Victoria’s fringe brings a different sort of 60s vibe, and seems more beachy than evening elegant. Sophia’s gown probably looked amazing in person, glittery in a way that does not come across in photos but hopefully looked regal and luscious. A good time seems to have been had by all. — Jane
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I am not excited with any of this. Queen Maxima´s dress is stunning until you see the "bare" patches on the sides. Widens her midriff especially when she is bending over. I do not like the feather on CP Viktoria´s dress and somehow it is almost too white. Sofia's dress seems very tight and figure hugging despite the enormous sleeves so in my eyes it is not very elegant. Queen Silvia´s green is a dull colour but that might be a trick of the lightening. The cut of the top is lovely and becoming. Ladyofthemanor
ReplyDeleteI love Princess Sofia's blue dress. The sparkle was divine. Don't like Victoria's fringe. The two queens rocked it. Lovely ladies.
ReplyDeleteThey all look good, but none of the dresses really is a favourite. Victoria's choice is interesting and modern, but I'm not sold on the feathery fringe bit. When she's sitting down, it looks really nice, almost like a little cape and perfectly appropriate for autumn, but when she's standing, it looks a bit like a pillow case from afar. Her makeup (and smile) is pretty, though. Sofia's colour and sparkle are divine, but the shape looks odd. Maxima's hair and makeup are outstanding, but I'm not a fan of the nude parts of the dress. And finally Silvia, who looks perfectly appropriate and I love the deep green on her, but I wish the top had a bit more wow factor to match the sparkly skirt part. All in all, they look like they're having fun and that's all that matters.
ReplyDelete-Nika-
Silvia's green dress and Sofia's blue are very beautiful and tasteful. Victoria looks nice in the white but not a fan of the fringe. I do not care for the pattern or look of Maxima's dress.
ReplyDeleteRene
Oh my gosh, I just saw the last photos of the back of Sophia . Very revealing to say the least. Her stylists should have told her that the Kardashian style is not very princess like.
ReplyDeletethere is almost always something a bit off in her dresses. Never quite makes into the elegant princess style. I suppose some people just never acquire true style.
DeleteI love Queen Maxima's dress and necklace, she looks fantastic in that! Having said that, I think it is bad taste to outshine your host, at least that is what my culture taught me.
ReplyDeleteS
Except on this particular evening Maxima WAS the hostess for Q. Sylvia, so she didn't break any protocol.

I hope everyone had a great time at the concert. Each RL had their own style to show off.css
ReplyDeleteAll the ladies look fantastic, but Victoria is my favorite, what a great dress, it enhances her lovely figure, and love the little faux cape with the feather trim!!
