On October 9, 2022, Queen Rania of Jordan visited Al Jandaweel Secondary School for Girls in Amman. There, the Queen received information about Road2Code, which is a digital skills program developed by nonprofit organizations INJAZ and the US-based Code.org. Founded in 1999 as a project under international charitable organization Save the Children, INJAZ became an independent Jordanian nonprofit in 2001.
The Queen also took part in an activity held by the Hour of Code initiative, which is a global ed-tech initiative that aims to acquaint students with the basics of programing and teach them coding concepts through simple and enjoyable methods. The initiative was created by Code.org, and currently reaches tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries.
