Dutch Queen Maxima is currently making a two-day visit to the United Republic of Tanzania. On the second day of her visit to Tanzania, Queen Maxima visited Dar Es Salaam city. On October 19, Queen Maxima met with President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Professor Florens Luoga, Governor of the Bank of Tanzania.
The Queen also spoke with members of the Generation Equality Forum, a five-year action journey launched in 2021 under UN Women’s leadership to speed up progress towards gender equality worldwide. In addition, the Queen held a brief meeting with a small group of the GEF council to learn more about their work and goals related to inclusive finance.
GIVENCHY Leopard-print A-line Dress
Well ,appropriate dress design for that part of the world.
ReplyDeleteAva
look out, leopard in the bushes of serengeti national park.
DeleteThe dress is very Maxima. The earrings are very Maxima too.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, that's her style as usual: loud, chunky and vibrant.
DeleteLove the dress. It’s a bit different from what she usually wears. The color suites her. Don’t like the shoes - these kind of shoes make even a thin foot and ankle (and even the leg) look large.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the shoes. Ankle straps do not look good on anyone. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteAnkle straps look good if ankles are not on the large side. They look great on Max.
DeleteAgain a rewear. Queen Maxima wore this Givenchy A-line dress when she visited Buenos Aires in October 2016.
ReplyDeleteI remember she got a bit of bad local press about it as it came in at a price of £2.000.
I think it is appropriate for her visit to Tanzania. It looks smart and fits in the African environment.
She must have great energy to keep up the pace of these back to back tours.
No matter what, she seems to enjoy her work.
I love this dress on Queen Maxima. I think it is a repeat she has for several years. I also love her shoes which are going well with this kind of dress. I see it is designed by Givenchy and must say I didn't know that when I saw her wearing it for the first time, unless she has a dress that is very similar to this one. She kept her jewelry to a minimum which is very wise.
ReplyDeleteL'imprimé léopard n'a pas tellement ma faveur mais les trois couleurs de ce modèle trapèze vont à ravir à Maxima ; belle combinaison que ses espadrilles ou sandales noires lacées que je ne voie pas trop bien !
ReplyDeleteAwful hair and way too much make-up, but the dress is good. It fits, it looks neat, it looks polished enough for the occasion, although I cannot help but remark that she still looks more informal than everyone else. Also, the pattern, albeit fun in itself, doesn´t feel quite right for this visit. It´s a bit too direct; like diplomatic dressing taken a bit too far. It´s as if the Kenian president shows up in the Netherlands in an orange suit and a tulip-print tie. Would they take him seriously when discussing financial matters, especially if he also had scraggly hair? Would they possibly feel insulted?
ReplyDeleteYou have some good points here.
DeleteI think she is losing her hair or it’s extremely thin. Possibly over-processed/dyed? When it’s this thin, it would be better to wear it in a chignon or add extensions.
DeleteThere you are again. It is not difficult to find comments when you don't like someone. I prefer Maxima's character, always in a good mood, always friendly, always happy than people who are always grumpy on everything and anyone else.
DeleteVery well said.
Delete@the critics about Maxima's hairstyle on this blog... I would probably not adopt her hairstyle for myself. However I try to understand why it is adopted, rather widely, by younger women. Fashion trends are responsible for their success and they make their way. Some arguments used here are reflecting older concepts, never revised. The link below is interesting on this topic : https://www.pinterest.fr/pin/418482990361169881/
Delete@7:18: I never said that I don´t like her. I do like Maxima, which is why it pains me so much to see her look so bad.
DeleteMaxima looks great in this dress. The style, colour and print look perfect on her and fits her well. I like the shoes too. She is to be admired for her commitment to her work in so many spheres.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
Yes , indeed. I do agree with you Anon 9:13
DeleteGreat dress, nice colour, good shape and perfect length. This one’s a winner
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks fabulous, it fits well, the skirt has movement, lovely outline. Love the shoes. The color combination of the dress suits the Queen well.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Ava .
DeleteYes, agreed.
Delete- Anon 9:13
I truly like this dress, the very original print doesn’t need accessories, and thank goodness she didn’t add any, and it fits her rather well, I also like the shoes very much. It would have been improved if she had put her hair in a polished ponytail, but nevertheless she looks good.
ReplyDeleteCherry
Yes, it’s a good look for Q. Max. ((V.M.)
Delete#1 Photo, not so bad. #2, a little worse, about the same #3. Photo #4, worse, and #5, stringy, dirty looking hair. A Total disgrace for a Queen of a Country. Annie .... PS what makes it really bad is that the outfit actually looked good today and then she screws it up with the ugly hair. At least I brush my hair every morning. Annie
ReplyDeleteWho says she doesn't. Maybe you are lucky to have hair of good quality. Not everybody has that. I think Queen Maxima's hair need a good cut and special treatment.
DeleteHer hair is very fine (stringy if you wish to use the term) and could with a trim. However, it doesn't look dirty and has clearly been brushed. She has the hair she has - it doesn't make her a disgrace. Your comment is pure hyperbole
Delete@13:51. No-one said that Maxima is a disgrace. 2:26 is explicitly talking about the state of her hair being a disgrace. And I agree. It is so bad that it IS a disgrace for a queen of a country. One obviously cannot blame her for the type of hair she´s got, but one can blame her for not taking care of it. There are ways to deal with any hair type and make it look neat and presentable. Maxima´s hair looks damaged from years of bleaching and over-processing; it hasn´t been cut in a long while; it is stringy to the point it *looks* unbrushed even though she may have brushed it earlier that day. I also understand the impression that it looks dirty, because newly washed hair usually looks smooth and glossy while dirty hair tends to get stringy. Also, regarding the colour, the black roots and outgrown highlights look harsh and need care. Maxima has proven before that beautiful hairstyles can be created with her hair (and possibly additional hair pieces), instead, she repeatedly chooses not to care.
DeleteMaxima does put effort into her looks as evidenced by the vast amount of make-up, the nail-polish and the jewellery she puts on every day. If a similar effort was put into her hair, we would get different results. Also, a hair cut would work wonders and wouldn´t need to be done so often.
When she attends state banquets and overseas trips her hair magically turns full, thick, brushed, nicely looking. It is the magic of a hair stylist, surely with all their money they have and is spent on her extensive wardrobe and jewelry, she could afford a hair stylist, and I agree with Annie, photo five does show it is in bad shape. My comment; get the same stylist she uses to look really beautiful all the time, that photo says it all, not a good image to project to the public. Tami
DeleteYou are all indulging in exaggeration by using the word disgrace. Seriously first world problems.
Delete@Vanessa 20/10 15:58
DeleteThe accusations you write on Queen Maxima are not coming from someone who likes that person. Secondly since you seem to know everything best, why don't you offer your knowledge to become her new stylist or hairdresser. There has been people on this blog who had criticisms on her for using too often hair extensions. Everybody knows she does when being on state visit and for a gala evening.
She cannot wear these extensions all the time. It could be her hair is damaged, so what. Break someone down every time she shows up with hair that you don't like is one thing but at the same time write down that she has no empathy and that her work makes no sense since the poor black mothers don't understand what she is trying to explain is not fair. In case you didn't noticed, she also went to the government in Dar Es Salaam. What do you think she was doing there ?
I´m not accusing, I´m critiquing. I´m giving my opinion, like everybody else here.
DeleteI do like Maxima. It´s perfectly possible to critique or criticise someone you like, especially if that someone is not living up to the potential you know that person has.
I´m not claiming to know best. I´m arguing that she should put more effort into how her hair looks because it looks unnecessarily bad most of the time. I have given reasons why I have come to that point of view, and if you think it is hard to argue with those reasons (as if I "know best"), maybe it´s because those points are valid arguments.
I don´t care whether she has extensions or not. I´m saying that there are ways to deal with difficult hair, and she should put in the effort to achieve a neat and presentable look. At the very least, she could put her hair up on bad hair days, like most people would.
I certainly didn´t say that she has no empathy. I said (in a comment to the previous post featuring her in Tanzania) that I cannot see that she engages warmly with the people pictured with her. That´s a vastly different statement.
Likewise, I didn´t say that her work makes no sense. Or that those mothers are poor. Or that they didn´t understand. Someone else said that they might not understand due to a language barrier, to which I replied that if that the case (which may well be) it would make it difficult for these women to appreciate Maxima´s presence and engage warmly with her. Again, that´s a vastly different statement.
Please read carefully and don´t put words in my mouth that I didn´t say.
I did notice that she went to the capital and met with the Kenian president, which is the very topic of this post. And her meeting the president is the very reason why her bad hair strikes me as very inappropriate and bordering on respectless.
Dear Vanessa,
Deletehope you will allow me to give my opinion on the ongoing discussion.
I think you are a very clever fellow blogger and even though I sometimes did not fully agree with your views about other topics in the past, let me say I entirely agree with you now.
By the way, I appreciate Q.Maxima so much for her beauty and work.
Unfortunately, it is not the first time this wonderful lady neglects her hair whatever the reason can be.
What I just can't get is how your perflectly put and valid points can be misread or misunderstood to this extent by the usual anonymous intruder ( anyway, her monologues to herself are what I like best for sure 😂).
I feel that the same person Is always trying to stir the pot no matter what or who the discussion Is about (Q.Letizia showcasing cornflowers in Germany or Maxima' s trip to Tanzania are just excuses for raising a flame on this blog).
I think this person Is not able to overcome her linguistic barriers- English (!) in the present case-.
Could It possibily be that her translator is out of order today🤣🤣?
What you wrote as well as the points you made sound so clear to me and certainly to the majority of other bloggers that I do not see how you can be questioned over and over this way.
I greatly admire your patience in replying to the unfair remarks you got.
If I were you (and believe me, I also happend to be dragged into endlesss discussions on... what??Nothing!), I would just quit the " conversation".
I am sure you know what I mean or otherwise words you never said will be put in your mouth restlessly.
Best regards.
P. the original
Oh great - P the original is back with her theory that all Anonymous posters are one and the same.
DeleteAnd having accused people of being unpleasant in another one of her silly posts on the subject she proceeds to mock people who speak/write less than perfect English.
Thanks P, I very much appreciate your reply.
DeleteI enjoy a good conversation and the exchanging of ideas, and I like writing because it is the clearest form of expression, a challenge if you will to articulate thoughts into words.
I think we are all willing to give people the benefit of the doubt if something is not worded perfectly, especially since this is a very international forum (which I enjoy!!) and not everyone is a native speaker of English. (I´m not either.) But we are at the same time able to detect what´s an honest respectful conversation and what´s someone jumping at a fellow blog reader. Cheers to you, P., and thanks again for your reply.
To anonymous 20:44: The best way to prevent being mistaken for another anonymous poster is to not post anonymous comments. Give yourself a name, argue with us and let´s have a conversation!
Vanessa I'm not interested in posting with a name - it just amuses me that P the original is absolutely convinced that every anonymous post is from the same person. I mean, seriously! And the holier-than-thou posturing about people being unpleasant whilst being the author of some extremely unpleasant comments - which have included mocking other posters' command of English.
DeleteThank you so much, Vanessa, for your kind words.
DeleteExactly right, it is a challenge if you will to articulate thoughts into words and not everyone Is a native English speaker.
I myself make mistakes given I so often am in a hurry and not able to correct them.
As you said, jumping at a blog reader is rather different.
A language may be learned, misbreeding and mistreatment of other people cannot be corrected anymore at late stages in life.
That's why sometimes it is better to just ignore unpleasant comments.
Anyway, it is my pleasure to share my views with you and other nice bloggers.
Have a fabulous Sunday.

DeleteA few things I want to clarify :as far as I am concerned, my mocking people is to be ruled out.
My upbringing does not allow me to act this way.
I hope you will realize one day that it is just YOU who lead others to reply ironically.
I mean: if you read carefully and GET the actual meaning of what people say before rushing to reply, you'd spare yourself and others a huge waste of time.
I think that there are basically three ways to address you: ignore your comments; replying in a straightforward way (that's what I sometimes do and yes, maybe who honestly rebukes you trying to make yourself aware of your mistreatment of other bloggers is "silly" according to your mindset.); mocking you more or less subtly for the incredibile amount of time you have on your hands wasted in changing identities, playing with your translator and regaling us with some absurd posters and links picked randomly on the Internet).
As Vanessa said , if you chose a name and simply (and kindly, I want to add) took part in our conversations, you'd be accepted with open arms on this blog.
As long as you behave respectless, people will feel free to reply to you as they like, even mocking you.
Lastly: you tend to label sultry royal women as boring and ridiculous.
Perhaps your comments have same effect on many people on this blog?
A note: yep, P. the original will be back whenever her work and busy life allow her to pop in here.
Not everyone Is " blessed" with 24 hours a day to make comments on blogs.
Just think about It.
@ Vanessa
DeleteNot misbreeding..
Sorry.
I meant: wrong raising or upbrining
Nope, @P the original - I haven't done any of the things you have listed rather tediously - because I'm not any of the people who have said those things. 🤷♀️ And the comments where you replied mockingly weren't in reply to anything I said but to other posters - and you're talking utter nonsense when you say you don't know how to mock people, as well as being totally hypocritical and sanctimonious. You then go on to say you do mock - so you're inconsistent as well. Within the same post. As long you behave so ridiculously and continue to posit your stupid conspiracy theories I shall feel free to call you and your rude comments out. Me that is - not the hundreds of other anonymous commenter who aren't me.
DeletePS. WTAF is a sultry royal woman? To whom are you referring? BTW I have never labelled any royal woman, sultry or otherwise, as boring or ridiculous. Nor have I ever used an Internet translator - I just write in English (or occasionally French)or indeed posted a link - never seen the need as they never seem to work from this page.

DeleteTypos correction in my comment 23/10/22 at 10:04:
GOT ( I used capital letters to highlight the meaning of what I was saying and make it clear to you);
ignoring your comments;
trying to make you aware...;
As long as you behave respectlessly;
sundry royal women;
have the same effect.
Why did you address @ P. the original at the beginning and why did you sign P.the original at the end of your comment at 13:11?
Were you aiming at pretending to be me and if so why?
How dare you?
Regarding the rest of your blurry comment: as I have already said elsewhere, just offend me - I do not care- if this is the only way to appease you, but leave other bloggers alone on other threads.
Yes, you play with your translator but you' d better learn English once and for all and avoid your ridiculous way of writing and interpreting others' comments.
Moreover, stop generating unnecessary tensions.
Take some time for yourself and your health instead.
P. the original ( the real one)
And my comment was "blurry" - you are quite incomprehensible in places. Not to mention that you clearly don't understand my stated points - either that or you are just wilfully choosing to misinterpret them (but I'm the one with the interpretation problems 🙄🤪).If you you don't care why do you keep responding?
DeleteI'm a native English speaker - I don't need a translator and I know that "respectlessly" isn't a word in English.
Sundry or sultry - still have not labelled any royal women boring or ridiculous.
Hypocrite, much? Telling other posters how to behave but can't stick to your own rules.
The only person feeling tense is you - the person who allegedly doesn't care and isn't offended.
My health is fine so I'll carry on as I am, thanks for the faux concern.
The P the original at the end was just a copy/paste error when editing my comment. But if it annoys you so much (which it clearly does - how dare I? 🤣🤣🤣🤣) then you could start calling yourself P the original (the real one) all the time. Then someone could sign with that and then you could be P the original (the real one) (the one and only), after that P the original (the real one) (the one and only) (the first and best) You could get to the point where your signature is even longer than your comments...
Anonymous (the one who annoys P the original)
Oh, come on Anonymous, give it up.
DeleteStop throwing tantrums.
Time for your dinner teddy and bedtime stories.
Good night
Oh come on P the One and only - get on the translator and find the words you really mean - a dinner teddy isn't a thing.
DeleteAnonymous @ 13:51, I agree with you that her hair doesn’t make her a disgrace. Some people use ugly adjectives when writing a critique. I also think that there is a disconnect with her dresses, shoes, handbags & jewelry, often expensive, and her hair that generally looks very damaged. We know that she can have very good hair on occasion, and perhaps a simple ponytail would look so much better on those days when she can’t manage it. A good example of difficult hair is CP Victoria,, hers is very curly and in order to look good she would have to use the flat iron constantly, so therefore she wears it neatly up, many people dislike this, and think that it ages her, but she looks neat and presentable when on official duty.
