  1. What a strange dress. The colour is lovely for Sophia. But it makes her silhouette look odd in shape and form. She looks bigger in size than she is. Also it’s too much going on on the details, too many pleats which disturb the overall look.
I like the traditional dresses of the graduating ladies. Very classy.

    1. I agree on all of the above, it doesn’t do her any favors. Also her current hairstyle is not her best, the curls with the outgrowing bangs are too much especially with this outfit.

    2. I’m also in agreement. Perhaps plain sleeves would have saved it but I also think it’s too long and I’m not mad about the belt. AnnieM

  3. I'm a bit torn on this dress. There's a lot of elements I like - the pleated skirt, the puffy sleeves (which mirror the uniform sleeves of the graduates), the general length, the piping detail on the arm, the colour, the shoes, even the belt. I'm just not sure if I like it all together. I think less pleating on the bodice would've made the dress look sleeker and less like it's pulling oddly in certain places. And I'm not a big fan of the very tight curls, to be honest.

  4. I like the pleated skirt of Princess Sofia's dress but that's about it. I don't like the sleeves of that dress nor the wide belt. It would have been much better with straight sleeves and a thin belt. It looks like they discover the wide belt in Scandinavia right now (CP Victoria wore a wide belt too). I like Sofia's hair. The blond curls suit her very well.

    1. Wide belts everywhere today. They are rarely flattering imo. Mathilde wore one too. None of the examples convinced me.

  5. She has a very strange and frumpy sense of how to dress ever since. What a combination sll in all..and don't get me started with her make-up.....Frieda

  8. What´s the matter with her? She gives the impression of a casual bystander. That´s not like her!

  9. I don’t think anything really works here. The highly detailed bodice fights with her long curls and the oversized earrings. And I don’t think the colour is particularly flattering for her. (V.M.)

  11. I like the color of this dress but multiple details in design are too fussy and complicated and detract from the look. Agree with poster above that it all makes her look larger than she is—unless I’ve missed a pregnancy announcement—in which case I apologize. Her makeup is too heavy and looks harsh—she is a pretty woman and does not need such strong enhancement.

  12. I didn’t like this dress at first glance, but once I looked at it on a bigger screen I changed my mind, I think is different and not many women could get away with it, but I truly like it on her. I think if it was a little bit shorter and paired with nice cognac boots it would look so much better. Also my pet peeve… she needs a better supporting brassiere, the just line is way too low for such young woman.

    2. I hear that comment of a "better supporting brassiere" each time when a woman has breasts (not only by you Cherry) To me the bustline is OK. Take the big belt away and it will look much better.

    3. @Anonymous21/10/22 21:25 Why so offended? Good underwear is important and can make all the difference whether a top, a dress, a shirt looks great or somehow just hangs an the wearer. There are different cuts of brassieres to choose from, with different hight of leverage, different straps etc. to optimize the look of the clothes. Also the colour is important. A good stylist would always advice their customer on the right underwear. Unfortunately many of the royal ladies do not take not of that.
P.s. In this case it is actually the terrible cut and décor of the bodice that together with the wide belt creates a short torso and would look bad on any woman.

    4. @Xx Why such a prude? What does intimacy have to do with anything? The subject of undergarments has come up dozens of times on this blog. It falls under the fashion umbrella. The wrong underpinnings can alter the fit or appearance of a garment. To my eye, the BRF are among the worst offenders, Camilla being at the top of the list. Bigger busted women, for example, need bras to add lift and support, and if necessary to minimize. Royals have access to the best, yet some of them look like they order from a catalog. The wrong bra can spoil the look of their outfit. What in the world is disrespectful about discussing that? Do women not have breasts where you live?

Ladies, it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Remember to do your self exams regularly and have your yearly mammogram.

    5. I can't ask for anything.
I can't write anything. Everyone interfered because I think conversations about the Princess's breasts are too intimate. It's not the first time that you blame me. All of you. It's just sad. Nobody stood up for me and thought that I had misunderstood something and that I was trying to protect Sofia. I'm just humanly sorry. I feel humiliated because I misunderstood something and wanted to help Sofia.

  14. This dress has some interesting features. The color of this dress is pretty. The skirt of her dress is lovely, sits well and good movement. The sleeve design, bodice and wide belt, I am not a fan of. I do like her shoe design. I don't like these earrings, but regardless of my tastes, Princess Sofia looks lovely.

  15. No to huge belt. No to the ugly sleeves and pleats in the very long skirt. No to the shoes. No to the makeup and over the top large earrings. Yes to the lovely smile. Annie

  18. I don't necessarily dislike this dress, but I also don't love it. It doesn't flatter the princess's very feminine curves or her height. Is Sofia highlighting her hair blonde? I definitely don't think it's a good look for her.

  19. Not sure if the dress is kelly green (yay) or olive green (less yay), but the design of this dress is pretty bad. I love a pleated skirt but this one is too long and the whole top of the dress is strange. She is a beautiful woman but I wish she would update the casual, center part hairstyle to something more modern (aka CP Mary).

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well...this is one busy dress! Find all the pleating too much--wish all the pleating on the sleeves and bodice were not there. I also feel the color is too drab--Sofia is very beautiful and she can carry off pretty much anything but this color is too blah. Finally, the belt is too wide, I think a narrower belt would look better.

  22. Xx. What is wrong with you? The only disrespectful comment is yours. Also you are confusing the meaning of intimacy. Please get you mind out of the gutter, and let normal women be. Perhaps you’ve never been fitted for a dress before? Have you not ever asked talked to other women about particular brands? Styles of underwear?. Maybe you should run for the salts whenever somebody mentions that a particular choice of undergarments could result in a fashion faux-pax. Generally I enjoy the difference of opinions, but you are down right offensive .

    2. Well, that's just downright bizarre - trawling back through 4 years worth of posts just to find another post about underwear fitting correctly - which by the way, is not the same as staring at a woman's breasts. If you are interested in fashion, the main subject of this blog, then underwear discussions are part of that.

    3. Face it Xx, you need to let this one go. You overreacted. You have become rude and insulting, and making accusations. The discussion is over an article of clothing. Stop trying to make it into more than it is.

  23. I think the dress is quite interesting and looks good on her. I think it is the length that destroys the look and the shoes are awful with that length. I believe that a shorter dress with shoes like the model would have worked better. By the way her hair looks ridiculous. Ok for a teenager maybe…

  28. Xx, think that you either don’t have a good comprehension of the English language, or you are just trying to create drama by insulting other bloggers, how dare you tell her that she “ fancies other woman’s breast” going back years to bring back a comment is bizarre, why would you remember that? Why would you spend time on doing it so? Princess Sofia doesn’t need you to defend her because nobody attacked her. A brassiere is just a garment, that’s it. Your victim tone is just ridiculous! Seriously!

    1. Everyone has an opinion, I really had no bad intentions. You keep writing about my tone that I offend bloggers. Maybe I should go to the prison because I misunderstood the comment? Okay, Sofia doesn't need a defense. I reacted by wanting to help someone who often hears on the blog an opinion about a badly selected bra, which would offend me in her place. So much for the topic.

Can you let me go now?
