King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are making a state visit to Lithuania from 24 to 26 October at the invitation of Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda. The visit is made to mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Lithuania that will be celebrated this year. During the three days of the state visit, the King and Queen will visit Vilnius and Kaunas and meet with the highest Lithuanian authorities. Kaunas is European capital of culture for 2022.
Armani Prive Fall 2021 Couture Collection
Intresting outfit, but the hat spoils it for me. I'd rather it was grey and the blue pattern of the coat matched with the gloves.
ReplyDeleteLa penso come te.
DeleteO grigio, o rosa con scarpe abbinate
Agree with you. Grey or perhaps the pink shade from the bottom would be better. Ladyofthemanor
DeleteAgree 100%--usually I complain that Queen Mathilde can be too matchy-matchy with her accessories but today I would prefer to see her accessories be all gray.

Totally agree. Like the coat, the shoes and the bag but the blue hat is just weird with this outfit. Having said that, the pyjamas trousers worn by the model are more weird
DeleteNo !
ReplyDeleteColor of the hat ruins the overall effect.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! I’m also not a fan of the flying saucer style hats which look worse in flash colors. MR
ReplyDeleteThe shape of the hat is an hazardous choice, however interesting outfit.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful to her for trying this and like it. First Lady classic, but at the limit of boring.
DeleteThe cut of this Armani coat is very good for Queen Mathilde. However, I'm a bit confused about the pink and grey piece in the bottom of the coat and also about the blue hat. The handbag is lovely and made to match with the pink in the coat. Why not wear a pink hat ? If it was me I'd had chosen the blue version of the coat or the pink one, not a bit of both.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Anon 16:27 - from the waist up QM looks fabulous, love the brighter blue of the hat with the blue swirl pattern of the coat fabric. Coat should be all in blue swirl - the switch to gray and then to pink ruins the entire look. Possibly gray only from the waist down (and sleeves all blue), but still think I would prefer just the blue. Also the 3 strips cut up her figure in an unflattering way.
DeleteThe First Lady of Lithuania looks wonderful, well-tailored, fitted perfectly, nice cut and color, great hat, understated and elegant and appropriate for the occasion. S.M.
Why the blue hat Mathilde? Why?
ReplyDeleteThe idea of picking up the blue colors from the top part of the outfit is good. But on these pictures it doesn’t work at all. Maybe in real life light it looks good ??…
DeleteNice coat, the gray and pink interchange well. css
ReplyDeleteThe multicolored coat from Armani Prive is a very good choice for Queen Mathilde of Belgium. Not particularly for the colors, but it suits her very well. The blue hat looked at it’s best up close. (She doesn’t wear the hat when they landed in Vilnius, and cheers for that!) Mrs Diana Nausédiené has a very white coat, but it suits her well and in a good length. The black bow is maybe a step to far…less is more. She hasn’t got a purse, that’s unusual, but is fine for me. Very nice with a state visit to Lithuania!

Love the merry ufo-hat itself, but it should have had one of the colours of the nice coat.
ReplyDeleteMabel
@Anon. 18:22 It has the blue color that is in the pattern of the upper part of the coat.
DeleteThis outfit genuinely baffles me. I don't like the colour of the hat itself (unless maybe it was paired with similar gloves, shoes or a purse somehow?) and I don't like the coat either. The pink bottom looks weirdly stuck on and doesn't really go with the rest of the colour scheme. In the original design, the bottom seems to have more grey and the length is better. Still not a great design, but better than Mathilde's custom one. When she sits down and only the top part is visible, I can see why the hat was paired with this particular coat, but overall, the outfit is a fail in my eyes. On a positive note, I think the First Lady looks very polished and I love a good pillbox hat!

The fabric of the coat is quite busy but I quite like it - the hat mystifies me! The colour seems completely random and I have to admit it reminds of a kind of cheap penny sweet you can get here in the UK - those discs that appear to be made of polystyrene that melt away in your mouth!

This coat proves that even a haute couture designer can make a terrible piece, the fabric is just not pretty at least in photos, it would be more suited for upholstery, perhaps the idea was to make it look like a 2 piece? If so it should have been combined better. The hat is not attractive, and the handbag seem to be made of the same fabric as the coat?. The totality of the outfit is a fail for me. The First Lady looks very well put together.

You all talk only about the outfit of Queen Mathilde, but few of you noticed the outfit of the First Lady of Lithuania. Mrs Nauséda is dressed more elegantly and sophisticated. Today she surpasses Mathilde in everything - coat, hat, pumps, hair.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, the First Lady is the winner here IMO.

This outfit so horrible that it looks as if she put it together in the pitch black of night at a second rate 2nd hand store.

I like this outfit, the fabric design is eye catching in a nice way. I love the toning of colors. The only thing I would change is the color of the hat. Love the grey accessories. The First Lady looks marvellous. I love her white coat, fit is perfect, with her black tie bow. Her black accessories look great, her hat looks really good, positioned well. I think she is wearing a black and white dress underneath.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with your comments. Happy to see the Queen try a more modern coat and think she/her stylist didn’t anticipate how much the pink section on the coat would out show the blue section in daytime photos.
DeleteI seriously don’t understand this outfit.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a great coat in my opinion and it fits Mathilde well. The hat on the other side… even if the colour is actually in the print of her coat (which it is, just quite difficult to observe), there were already grey or pink hats in her millinery arsenal she could have worn to better effect. Also the placement on her head is a little extreme. Would have worked if the hat had additional vertical trimmings to further enhance the height (although that would have been too much with the print on the coat). All it would have taken is a hat in a colour easier to notice on her coat placed at a less sharp angle.
ReplyDeleteAll considering, I would still call this a good ensemble, just less perfect than it could have been.

Será de Armani pero no me gusta, en las primeras fotos pensé que era una chaqueta con una falda y no me cuadraban la combinación de los colores incluido el sombrero.
ReplyDeleteAwful match!!!
