Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended a reception marking the 60th anniversary of the UNICEF Supply Division in Denmark. The reception was organized by UNICEF and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1962, the Government of Denmark supported the construction of UNICEF’s global humanitarian warehouse in Copenhagen.
Initially built to pack health kits for maternity clinics and child health services, the warehouse evolved into a logistics hub. UNICEF’s Global Supply and Logistics Hub is located in Copenhagen. It is home to the largest humanitarian warehouse in the world.
Alexander McQueen Crepe Blazer
Great look for CP Mary. Professional and chic. css
ReplyDeleteAgree. Lovely colour and perfect for the Crown Princess. AnnieM
DeleteGreat colour for her. She looks lovely
DeleteQuesto rosso dona molto Mary, con il blu è il colore che più le sta bene.

Mary looks professional & well groomed as always. Nice combination this outfit. Love the jacket. Mary
ReplyDeleteThe red blazer is gorgeous, fit and cut is perfect, love the color. Combined with the black pants it looks very chic and stylish. I love her hair in a ponytail.
ReplyDeleteShe looks best in rich, jewel tone colors. They suit her coloring better than pale, light colors imo..
ReplyDeleteChic, gorgeous look!!!

blue version since last week https://www.newmyroyals.com/2022/09/princess-of-wales-welcomed-royal-navy.html
ReplyDeleteMary looks great in this. Maxima also has the same suit and colour, and looked amazing just last week when she wore hers. And Catherine has a different colour of the same suit. I think that the credit firmly belongs to the designer for creating such a lovely suit that works so perfectly for all these ladies.

DeleteInteresting comment you make about the tailoring of the suit.
In fact, Alexander McQueen started his life as a trainee tailor with some of the top names in tailoring in London.
It was only later in his life that he moved into ladies fashion and theatre design.
His life is yet another rags to riches story.
Sadly, he suicided at the age of 40.
I understand his empire has been carried on by Sarah Burton, the creative director of the fashion brand Alexander McQueen.
It is quoted that Sarah Burton was the designer of Catherine Middleton’s wedding dress.
Some information on the rags to riches life of Alexander McQueen can be found on …….

Careful, there is quite a bit of reading to be done.
@Deadeggs - Thanks for the information on Alexander McQueen. I'm well familiar with his life story both professional and personal as I was a big fan of his work in the late 80's, 90's and into the first decade of the 2,000's, and followed his rise in the design world as well as his fastidious working style, avenues of creativity and attention to detail. Same for his contemporaries such as Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Isaac Mizrahi, Vivienne Westwood and so many others. I used to follow the work and ethic of them all. His designs and creations were original and raw, and had beautiful symmetry and silhouette. He was a true style maker who rose from the ranks of the common, humble, everyday man.

DeleteInteresting to read about your interest in this designer.
Although his life was short, he seemed to have lived a very full and active one and contributed a lot to la mode feminine.
One of our fellow bloggers recently said that there are a lot of 'rags-to-riches' stories in the fashion/designer world.
Maybe on day somebody will put together a book on the subject.
Perfect look for the occasion. Chic and elegant and not too much of anything. I love her pony tail.
ReplyDeleteMagnifique dans ce blazer au simple boutonnage dont la couleur Bordeaux lui donne un look élégant ; la queue de cheval met en valeur gracieusement son port-de-tête !
ReplyDeleteImv this is an ordinary ( well taylored) blazer suitable for the occasion. "Chic or elegant" are not the superlatives that are applicable here
ReplyDeleteIMO, it's the wearer who gives it the look "chic or elegant".
DeleteAlthough clothes by the brand "Alexander McQueen" are always beautifully made and look like it is excellent quality, I don't like the jackets with the pointy shoulder pads. I know there are other jackets and blazers of that brand which have normal shoulder pads, which I prefer
ReplyDeleteAcceptable business attire but nothing to get excited about. The lady wearing the peacock blue skirt & jacket, as well as the lady wearing the deep burgundy pants suit with frilly white blouse both make more of a fashion statement and are more noteworthy/attractive to my eye. Mary looks like she's on a visit to her dentist. S.M.
