On September 15, 2022, the Earl and Countess of Wessex visited Manchester Cathedral to light a candle in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. The Earl and Countess then visited Manchester's Central Library to view Queen Elizabeth II's book of condolences.
The Earl and Countess greeted members of the public outside Manchester's Central Library. Afterwards, The Earl and Countess viewed the floral tributes left for Queen Elizabeth II at St Ann's Square, and met with members of the public.
GABRIELA HEARST Meyer Button-Front Cotton-Silk Midi Shirtdress
Joli modèle en tissu peut-être un peu trop long qui ressemble beaucoup à la robe blanche en cuir nappa portée récemment par la reine Letizia !

ReplyDeleteFor the occasion, Countess Sophie's choice of the Gabriela Hearst's long skirted dress is appropriate for the occasion. Difficult to see the details to make further comment.
NOTE: I have just read that the Denmark Royals will attend the state funeral in London next Monday - that is, Queen Margrethe, Princess Mary and Prince Frederik.
I read later that Princess Mary was not going after all, but no reason was given why the change in decision. Apparently now it's just Q.Margarethe and CP Fredrik.

I read that seating at Westminster Abbey is very limited so there would just be room for Queen Margarethe and her heir Frederick.
DeleteSophie looks very elegant.
@Anon 17/9/22 09:09 : I understand the shortage of seating space in the Abbey. If Princess Mary of Denmark is restricted from attending because of this reason, I think it is sad.
DeletePrincess Mary was a subject to Queen Elizabeth II for over 20 years.
She was born in Australia, a Commonwealth country and lived there for over 20 years. Her allegiance was to Elizabeth II.
But I'm sure she understands and accepts the decision in good faith.
I think it is clear now that Sophie and the Queen were very close!
ReplyDeleteIt's been said for years, decades even, that Sophie was the Queens favourite DIL.

No news, photos or comments from Queen Consort Camilla's two children and/or grand children and the Duchess of York. (Fergy).
ReplyDeleteSarah Ferguson left a tribute on her Instagram page on September 8.

Sarah, Duchess of York shall be either present at the great funeral service at Westminster Abbey or the smaller one at St. George's Chapel Windsor on Monday. As for the children of the now Queen Consort, I am sure they will be included at some point as well.
DeleteYes DSL. I have read a confirmation today that the Duchess of York will be present next Monday.
DeleteI've read that the Queen and Fergie have, over the years, developed a good relationship between them. Afterall, they have been neighbours.
It has been said many times that the Queen was a very forgiving person.
Sarah Ferguson has a series of heartfelt tweets on her twitter account (verified/blue-check, so it's hers).
DeleteI suppose that the palace thought that Camilla's children from another marriage should be left out of all of this - because of the public controversy about Camilla which has been going on for years and which we loathe/love, depending on perspective.
I’m getting the impression that a deal must have been done with Camilla, her two children and five grandchildren, and the palace for them to keep a very low profile. If my mother had become Queen Consort of England, I’d be very proud and want to be seen with her.
DeleteBefore I saw it is a dress I thought Countess Sophie's wore a rain coat. It is too long. On the model it is not that long. I know it is less important now, but it is a fashion blog after all.
ReplyDeleteIndossa sempre abiti troppi lunghi, ed è così bella che potrebbe osare un pochino di più.
DeleteRossella
@Rossella, si troppo lungho
DeleteI like her dress. Everyone does their part. They all had a great teacher m the Queen css
ReplyDeleteCountess Sophie looks lovely, I like her outfit. I saw some of this visit on You Tube, she was really wonderful with the crowd, particularly with the young man in the 3rd last photo, brought a tear to my eyes. She is a lovely person.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is probably my least favorite of those worn by the British Royal women. Just looks a bit too casual and way too long. Not flattering.
