On September 8, 2022, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands visited Texas, where she was received by Governor Greg Abbott at the historic Governor’s Mansion. Afterwards, the Queen met with Mayor Steve Adler at Austin City Hall. Then, Queen Maxima visited the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. The Queen spoke with coaches, Dutch player Danny Hoesen and the youth team, which took part in a training camp in the Netherlands this summer. The day ended with a visit to Austin FC soccer team.
Natan hand-painted silk and cotton shantung dress
She's always overdressed
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteCannot agree more.
DeleteLorraine why overdressed? I don’t get it really…
DeleteShe the best dressed royal and neve disappoint..
DeleteMaxima looks very elegant in that dress. The next outfit pants and top would have been good if the white bow or whatever you call it was smaller size. I like navy blue with white color combination.
ReplyDeleteAva
Agree with you
DeleteI think she looks good here. She's like a Texas gal herself anyway.
ReplyDeleteShe looks good, white blouse a bit sophisticated but she likes that.
ReplyDeleteMême si elle est de Natan, c'est la robe aux motifs modernes que je préfère ; le haut avec ce gros noeud porté sur un pantalon ne l'avantage pas du tout car de plus, les bijoux sont trop raffinés pour cette occasion !
ReplyDeleteThe women in Texas looks like they prefer to wear their skirts/dresses shorter. I can't blame them. In general I like the 2 outfits queen Maxima is wearing here. For the dress I have slightly a preference for the longest one. I like the cream top and the navy pants very much. Unless there was a dinner in the evening, she was maybe a bit overdressed to visit a soccer team. But queen Maxima doesn't care about that, she chooses the clothes she likes to wear regardless the occasion. I think she has a great time in the States.
ReplyDeleteIt's still over 90 degrees in Texas. Women tend to wear shorter skirts here because it is so hot and humid.
DeleteI like her in both outfits.
ReplyDeleteI don't care too much for the bow in the second outfit but it's ok.

..." she chooses the clothes she likes to wear regardless the occasion." Thank you, I never understood her choices until we reading your comment, you are absolutely right, that is exactly what she does.

DeleteGlad she got to see nice America! Texas is one of the friendiest states!
ReplyDeleteYes, Texas is friendly.......if you are white. If you are a person of color or lgbtqia, they will hate you just for simply existing.
Delete@Jennifer, it is sad but so true comment.
DeleteAva.
That is absolute crap. I have lived in Texas for over 40 years. It is an incredibly diverse state with little to no racial tension, and Houston, Dallas, and Austin all have thriving gay scenes. You don't know what the hell you are talking about.
DeleteUnnecessary comment and so untrue. People need to stop blaming superficial reasons why people dont like you and first look to see if your behavior is the reason. I am a person of color and I agree that Texas is one of friendliest states.
Delete@anonymous 5:05 You lie, I don't believe for a second that you are a person of color. Your comment is basically saying "maybe someone doesn't like you because you are a terrible person, and not just because it's the color of your skin" like racism dosen't exist just because you haven't experienced it.
Delete@Anon 5:05. Wow really? The color of someone's skin is not a "superficial reason" for someone disliking you. Unbelievable!
DeleteAs a white woman, born and raised in Texas. I can agree that Texas is a very racist state. Comments like the ones above casually dismissing racism as "superficial" are disgustingly ignorant. Shame on you! Also you don't have to get aggressive and use profanity just because you don't agree with how they feel or what they have experienced, until you have walked a mile in their shoes.
DeleteRacism does exist in EVERY state in the US and some places are worse than others. This country is experiencing widespread racial tension. And one of the reasons why is because of people like the above commenters. Denying there is a problem or attacking for acknowledging the problem is only making it worse.
I like the dress but I prefer even hemlines. The top for the soccer team meeting seems over dressed for the event and the hot sticky temps. I’m really disappointed that she went and had meeting and photographs with the governor who is instrumental in all sorts of malfeasance in Texas. Maybe she should have skipped Texas.
ReplyDeleteAgree I wish she could have skipped too. But that's the life of a royal. You have to remain neutral, no matter how awful a person or state is.
DeleteThe dress is very nice. EXTREMELY tight & ill-fitting top at the sports visit; what was she thinking, it looks quite uncomfortable to wear. *Regina
ReplyDeleteI like this dress. Maybe a bit overdone, but this is Maxima after all. Nice pic with Gov. Abbot. css
ReplyDeleteThat's probably the only Natan outfit I like and she wears it well. But that blouse to meet the soccer team? way overdressed, as usual. Her hair is a big improvement.
ReplyDeleteAfter she left the Soccer club she went straight to a dinner speech. She was clearly dressed for the speech, not the sports.
DeleteI agree we tend to make quick judgments without having in mind what comes next.
DeleteOverdressed? she wears what she wants to wear.
DeleteShe looks lovely on both occasions, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMaxima looks great.
