On September 30, 2022, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and Crown Princess Elisabeth of Belgium attended the Blue Berets parade held by the first-year students of the Royal Military Academy (RMA) in Brussels, which includes Prince Gabriel. King Philippe presented the blue hat to Prince Gabriel and to the members of his platoon in the presence of Queen Mathilde and Crown Princess Elisabeth.
Each Royal Military Academy apprentice officer who successfully completed his or her five-week military initiation phase at the Elsenborn camp receives a blue cap.
The family must be bursting with pride. Pss Elisabeth looks stunning the new haircut also make a difference. Great look for the future Queen. Mathilde's outfit to much yellow, the headpiece is a little awkward. The King looks good in uniform. Congrats to Prince Gabriel. css
ReplyDeletePss Elisabeth looks fab in her coat. Queen Mathilde - no. I might swallow the color combination, but the large belt and buckle are terrible. Wearing this hat with the large bow on the blouse is too busy. One or the other is enough. Ladyofthemanor
ReplyDeleteI love Pss Elizabeth's outfit, the burgundy accessories offset the ensemble well. Queen M, looks fabulous. Love the blouse, a gorgeous rich color, the pantsuit, though the mustard color (I think) is not a color I like she wears this well.
ReplyDeleteone of the most hideous outfits ever. what is she thinking?
ReplyDeletekim
The clothes she is wearing are pieces she had before, except the hat perhaps. She probably wished to refer to the Belgian flag. I admit the combination is not very good. The belt is too wide. CP Elisabeth looks very chic. I like her shorter hair.
DeleteObviously liked Maxima's yellow suit and used it for inspiration, both too much for me.
DeleteA proud Mother is a pleasure to see. A loud outfit not so much.
ReplyDeletePrincess Elisabeth is a new star in the royal fold she looks fantastic. Love her dress hair looks great. Simple clasdic & elegant. Mary
ReplyDeleteIn that outfit Mathilde reminded me of Maxima.

OMG! What a disaster outfit of Queen Mathilde!!
ReplyDeletei like the outfit and the coulours
DeleteTend to agree, this outfit was too much yellow, with the red and the birds nest perched on her head, and gloves to match was over the top. However, her smile won me over even as the outfit made me cringe. Anne
DeleteHow proud the King and Queen must be of their son--such a wonderful family occasion! Princess Elisabeth looks fabulous--great new haircut, princess-perfect dress, and great pairing with the bourdeau-colored accessories. Uhm...Queen Mathilde is a rare total miss for me. While the individual colors are very flattering for her this pairing is bordering on garish. The suit is biggest offender for me--that belt is awful and is way too wide for short-waisted Mathilde. The mustard color is too much--one piece, either the jacket or the pants (without that awful belt) would be more than enough. The blouse is a gorgeous color for Mathilde but fussy bow--no. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Oh no, this is awful. Makes me think of an Easter decoration. Strange combo red and yellow and too much of everything. The headpiece, the gloves, the blouse, the belt….
ReplyDeleteI love it that she dares to stand out and wear so flashy colors. Most of our royal ladies play it much safer dressing in gray and gray again, black. At least this isn’t boring! Gives us something to talk about..
ReplyDeleteWell said in a very optimistic point of view!!
DeleteWonderfull occasion!
ReplyDeleteAlways stylish and well dressed this family.
Love Elisabeth’s dresscoat ( and smile) and joyfull dress Mathilde ( although the far too heavy belt is a no),
Mabel
Publicité pour Mc Donald ?!!
ReplyDeleteIn most cases I love the fashion taste of Mathilde and her feeling for beautiful colours. However this colour combination is far too "loud" and does not suit her personality at all. The hat is crazy. Elizabeth looks amazing in all its simpleness.
ReplyDeleteEverything is right about Princess Elisabeth's ensemble: simple, business-elegant, appropriate for the occasion, burgundy accessories perfect counterpoint to black & white coat-dress. On the other hand there is nothing right and everything wrong with Queen Mathilde's outfit. This color combo is reminiscent of mustard and ketchup, not a good match for anyone but would best be carried off by someone with black hair. The same-fabric belt and overlarge buckle add nothing fashion wise and unhappily emphasize the tummy area, where the slacks are wrinkled from sitting. Why is she wearing the jacket loosely over the shoulders with it nearly falling off the right shoulder? The gloves are unnecessary, the bow on the blouse seems haphazard, and the childish hat is almost comical. The shoes and clutch were likely selected for a color match, but the clutch looks more suited to an evening event. I suspect this was meant to be a fun fall outfit, the leaves in the hat and the colors representing leaves turning color in the autumn. However, I feel QM's stylist has done her a disservice here. One almost wonders if Princess Delphine had a hand in designing this cartoonish costume. S.M.

What a ridiculous outfit with that silly hat. Moreover, with her figure, never wear such pants. Size zero can have this, not a middleaged matron. Betty
ReplyDeleteAgree! Ridiculous is the first word I thought of.
DeleteMathilde is one proud mama ! And rightly so ! Elisabeth rocking the shorter hair cut. Prince Gabriel a handsome young man ! Congrats to him on his achievement!
ReplyDelete1. Most parts of Queen Mathilde's outfit she had already.
ReplyDelete2. The pantsuit is exactly the same as the pink one she wore on Sept.29. Except for the big belt and buckle.
3. She referred to the Belgian flag (it is not the 1st time she is doing that).
4. Princess Delphine has nothing to do with this (see point 1.)
5. Nor has Queen Maxima.
6. Some of the bloggers put the blame on the stylist but we don't know she has one.
I have respect for Mathilde and think she handles her role well, but this is a hideous outfit in loud colors that might be acceptable if not combined with each other and dreadfully overdone accessories. Elizabeth looks perfect—love her shorter hair, as well.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if QM outfit was to pull from the camouflage colors. Maybe without the gloves. A bit of a miss, otherwise a beautiful woman.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say that the queen looks ridiculous--waaay beyond any of Queen Maximas' worst outfits. DIQ
ReplyDeleteThe Belgian flag is the only possible excuse for this outfit.
ReplyDeleteMrs Cleaver
No one has mentioned Natan. Mathilde's outfit has Natan written all over it. How I wish Mathilde and Maxima would burn those signature Natan belts! This monstrosity of an outfit falls solely on Mathilde. She must have liked it to have decided to wear it in a very public setting. Like a few comments above, I too thought of Ronald McDonald and condiments on first sight. I wish Delphine would not be made fun of. Why blame her for this outfit? To be honest, I would trust her to have better sense than to put this outfit together. Elisabeth looks smashing! The new haircut is very flattering. She has a less is more style that is age appropriate. Perfection!
ReplyDeleteThere is no possible excuse for this outfit. DIQ
ReplyDeleteWith all the commotion saying about Queen's colour outfits that reminded us about mustard and ketchup or even McDonald's, I've just noticed that there was one guest wearing that two same colour as the Queen. LOL
ReplyDeleteTry watch back again a video on Queen Mathilde and Princess Elisabeth's arrival at the ceremony. You can see her not far from where the Queen were seated, looked thrilled when she saw they're wearing the same colour.
Called it coincidence, but i read @royalfashionpolice IG story commented that red and yellow colour had something to do with the military official colour, besides reflecting the Belgian flag. But still the Queen should choose a better style of outfit to showcase those colour.
I didn't know about that. I will look for the video.
DeleteI am reminded of the adage that "Less is more." I think that lesson applies here.
Horrible Outfit if QM!
ReplyDeleteEs un traje para guardar y no volverlo a poner. La princesa muy guapa con algo clásico de toda la vida
