On August 07, Queen Letizia, Crown Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofia and former Queen Sofia of Spain had dinner at the Beatnik restaurant Puro Hotel in Palma de Mallorca. After the dinner, the royal family visited the Paseo de Sagrera market in Palma de Mallorca. The Royal Family is currently having their summer holiday in Palma de Mallorca.

Golly, I hope it isn’t too windy there.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing!
Delete...Marie
I think both of the girls look totally fine, but QL’s dress looks more like a beach cover-up to me. She has much nicer midi and maxi sundresses. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteEspadrilles are the favorite footwear of the Spanish royalty's ladies.
ReplyDeleteI am developing a distinct taste for espadrilles. I did not like them in the past but they must be so comfortable in hot weather.
DeleteI mistakenly thought Leticia was one of the daughters; dress is too short.😘
ReplyDeleteI had to zoom to see which was the Queen. I think way too short but I don't know the culture there. It may be the normal style in that area.
DeleteI think I never saw Q. Letizia in a mini dress. Looked up old pictures of their annual holidays on Mallorca and there it is the 1st year she is wearing a mini skirt. On the pictures of their holidays before, Q. Letizia always wore a long or midi dresses. I think she wishes to show she can compete with the younger generation. Is it the same flared pants and tunica Q. Sofia is wearing like on Saturday night or is it the light that makes it is shining lilac.
ReplyDeleteYou should look it up better, she has worn shorts, a nice short white dress and more...It is Mallorca, a hippie place.
DeleteWhy should Letizia "compete" with her daughters?
DeleteWow, everyone looks summer stylish! (Even everyone in the background, LOL). Letizia looks fantastic in pink. I especially like Leonor's blue dress.
ReplyDeleteChel
I wish Letizia's dress was shorter - she gas great legs! we don't see them enough.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice pic.All three have a nice suntan, this must last for a whole year? Q Sofia looks very nice too.Pss Sofia goes after her father in height. Hope they all had a great time together. css
ReplyDeleteToutes bien pimpantes dans ses robes estivales, chacune dans sa couleur !
ReplyDeleteThey are in Mallorca on holiday, it's summer and is hot, they look great!
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteAva
Lovely family enjoying themselves in each other’s company.
ReplyDeleteEach of them nicely casual dressed.
It impresses me that they always behave naturally and relaxed in the company of what must be, a lot of photographers.
Mabel
Is Letizia in competition with her daughters?
ReplyDeleteThough she has good legs, this mini dress is a bad choice for a queen, in my opinion.
Agree
DeleteDon't agree, just great fun. ☆☆☆☆☆
DeleteThe mini dresses di look perfect for the two princesses but it is ridiculous for the queen with 50 years. Sorry to say this. She should not compete with her teenage daughters.
ReplyDeleteThat’s the first thing I thought when I saw this, unfortunately she looks old in some of these photos
DeleteI agree with you, at her age, she should not be wearing this frock as a dress. Its for a young teenager/young woman, looks tacky on a Queen.
Delete"Ridiculous" is a very strong word here and sounds quite negative. Some competition as a joke with her daughters, yes likely. I see no real reason why she should not wear it if she wants that.
DeleteAgree
DeleteI agree with you 'MaryT'
DeleteQL dress is lovely esp the colour is fantastic on her. However really too short although she has fantastic legs. Did she use tan spray by the way for her legs?
ReplyDeleteI think she uses tan spray indeed, the tanning was so fast and is so intense.
DeleteIt’s not like we doubted Letizia’s form and fitness. Seems a little show-off to be a reigning queen and (even on vacation) present yourself to the public in such a short dress. If she felt she needed the self-assurance, could have picked at least a less flouncy option and still show off her legs. You know, just in case that unexpected Mediterranean breeze decided to play a trick (like someone said above, I hope the wind wasn’t blowing).
ReplyDeleteI expect some reaction as to ‘that’s what people wear in SpIn on vacation’. Except she isn’t just ‘people’. She is the reigning queen. I am willing to bet that if the ki g would have joined them, she would have worn something different.
Girls look great and appropriate for their age. Overall good marketing campaign for Zara. Now if they could only do better in respecting employees rights in the countries where they manufacture. They constantly score at the very bottom of the list of social responsibility scores. For more than a decade. Meanwhile their owners keep showing up in the Forbes lists of the richest people in the world. I for one would think about that before choosing an outfit from them. By contrast, Mango, the other Spanish mega brand mass producer, is consistently improving. Something to be aware of imo.
Thanks for allowing a different pov. I believe it’s a respectful one. Your call, moderator.

Thank you for an enlightening comment, I don’t shop Zara because the quality is awful and was not aware, I am grateful for the information.
DeleteThat is a very good point, thank you!
DeleteInfanta Sofia's green blouse + skirt combination from the other day was made in Spain. Ethically I presume, since there are regulations in place in Europe as opposed to other places, where clothing companies most often manufacture.
Very summery looks from all four! However, not a big fan of Q. Letizia's hot pink mini dress and hot pink espadrilles. I like the color of Leonor's printed dress, but find it a little too short & the shape a bit poofy - not the best choice proportion-wise
ReplyDeleteGoodness! I almost didn’t recognise Queen Letizia at first glance. As several people have said above, while she has an enviable figure, this dress looks far too young, and verges on the ridiculous when her daughters are wearing a similar style. It’s not the length— a short straight skirt or a pair of smart shorts would be fine. Queen Sofia looks good again as do both girls, especially Infanta Sofia.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the few commenters above that QL's dress is not appropriate for a queen. I know, I know, it's summer, yada yada. But she's a queen, and this is not a classy or elegant look. Especially with the sprayed tanned legs. On the other hand, former Queen Sofia looks elegant, classy, and appropriate.
ReplyDeleteI like it. They are on holiday and it is hot weather. Letizia looks great, she has good figure to wear such a dress in that kind of place.
ReplyDeleteAva
Queen Sofia looks lovely elegant and very pretty in this ensemble, the white blouse looks silk to me, divine to wear against the skin, especially in warm weather.
ReplyDeleteShe has beautiful legs why not show them off she is not old yet.
ReplyDeleteShe maybe a Queen but it is not the same as the British royals, as far as dress code goes, Europe is so different.
They all look lovely.
Class is the same everywhere. A queen is a queen not a starlette.
DeleteA reigning queen, as mentioned above, should not be looking like this. Furthermore, she is competng with her daughters at nearly 50. A queen should be a figure of respect and not ridicule.
ReplyDelete🌞 Virginia
How old are you, you must be 120.
DeleteAva
The look of three beautiful 'sisters' in blue, pink and white ❣️
ReplyDelete- Julie
I agree with the general sentiment here - Letizia's attention-seeking outfit looks competitive and ridiculous. Elle
ReplyDeleteWow they all look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI want to be just like Queen Letizia when I am older. What a superwoman.
Superwoman for what? Because she wears a mini?
DeleteBuy one you too!
I think everyone look great and I love the colorfol outfits.
ReplyDeleteAnd why do women over 40/50 look ridiculous wearing a mini dress?
Yes, Letizia is the queen but they are on their private time, there's hot and humid, so how she dresses then, is completely up for her to decide.
Looking at Letizia, she has nothing to be ashamed of...her legs are well toned, long and look good despite her "old age" ;)
I'd say that she's a good inspiration to get up from the divan, move and excercise more. 40+ women still rock and look hot!!!! Lets not restrict ourselves with those old taboos.
Kaarin
The best comment. I completely agree.
DeleteI am sickened by all this judgment to the Queen which is nothing more than envy.
These are not stolen pics, they were visiting a place and knew there would be photographers. A queen must be able to dress with style, and cant allow herself to look like a movie star, so its not a matter of shame nor a taboo. But of roles to fulfill.
Delete-G-
@Kaarin. If you are not a queen you can wear what you want. If you are a queen or married to a reigning monarch in general you have to respect certain rules. I think I understand @Sharni when she says that the British royals have more severe dress codes than in Europe. But there are more than one Queen, Princess or Duchess in Europe who never would expose herself in public like Letizia does. I never heard there were any rules but one assume that the wife of a reigning monarch just knows what to do and not..
DeleteAgree completely! She's on vacation, on her private time, sure there may be photographers taking pictures but so what? Letizia and everyone else look relaxed, happy, and all seem to be enjoying being out together; exactly the goal of most vacations. I think Letizia's dress suits her and she wears it well. Her confidence is something to aspire to.
Delete"expose herself in public like Letizia does." In what year do we live? It's 2022, not 1922. She's not showing anything indecent, no nipple allert, no underswear showing, just her beautiful and long legs. Don't we all have legs?
DeleteLetizia and her two daughters have very long legs. Perhaps the dress isn't too short but the legs are too long :D For someone shorter the dress would have probably been a little above the knee.
If she had attended an official event in mini dress, this could have raised eyebrows. But they are on vacation. Sofia Sr. isn't ashamed to be out with this leggy trio, why we should fuss?
TBH: looking at Letizia is inspirational - she makes me want to excersise and not let my body go out of shape even in my 40s. When I look at her I find it hard to believe she will be 50 next month. Hitting 50s can be worrisome to many women (the changes our body go through, the way older women suddenly become invisible). It is sad when we, women, tell that beautiful woman look ridiculous in mini dress and she only want to compete with younger women...
Kaarin
@Kaarin. What I find sad is that in Western European culture older people (men and especially women) are not respected anymore. In other cultures in Asia or Africa a.o. old people are treated with respect for their wisdom. Here if you have a certain age and it is showing you are put aside because you become a problem that needs attention and the younger generation have no time to pay attention to you, they are too busy with their own life. If you are looking younger than your age and you are lucky to be in good health than maybe they take notice of you. Perhaps that is the reason why young women are doing so much fitness training and other sports, if they have the time to do it. Not every woman can do sports on a regular basis, because of their job and their kids and their housekeeping, etc...They are afraid that they will look to soon too old. My grandmother always said : there is only one thing that is fair in life and that is that in the end it is the same for everyone : the good as well as the bad, the rich and the poor people they all have to go.(One could add the beautiful and the ugly too.)

DeleteNow you have disclosed your real feelings and it was about time.
Have you ever thought that workout aims not just at achieving a good- looking body but at keeping oneself in good health too?
And it Is not a matter of time, where there is will there is a way.
Then, life must be lived up, one cannot think about death which you describe as the only way to be treated ...fairly???
This is the most bitter and disheartening words I have ever read.
I understand you may have some good reasons for saying that but no, that's not my outlook on life for sure and your reasons cannot justify your feeling such deeply rooted jealousy for beautiful women anyway.
Oh for goodness sake @P the Original - what a twisted interpretation of what Anon 15:10 wrote.
DeleteAnd not every person who is Anonymous on this site is the same person.
I wish you a good health P the Original. Stop accusing people of being jealous because you don't know who is behind the anonymous comment.
DeleteAnon. 15.10, 23.41 & 05:41
DeleteI hope your wish is sincere.
Remember, anybody may feel unwell but nobody is allowed to attack others (royals and common people) thinking this is the best way to vent his/her dissatisfaction.
Of course, writing as Anonymous does not mean that it is always the same person .
Fact is that YOUR same hammering, bitter
and angry tone in different anonymous comments or even signed with all the improbabile nicks is revealing.
There is the same hand and the same hate towards beautiful women behind a lot of comments.
Bloggers are not blind on this site, including myself.
Hopefully you realize that this at last.
The more you insist intimating me to stop...what???
Saying the truth???
...the more your words show that I touched the right button .
Btw, I have never accused people in general of being jealous, I accused a certain person of being hugely jealous.
If you felt a compulsion to reply to my " accusation" at different times on the same matter, then I am pretty sure that you are just that person I was referring to.

DeleteI agree with you. She is the champion in twisting other bloggers comments. Apparently she reads and knows things that not have been said. I think she has been inventing a blogger that not exists, just because she has something against all the people who write anonymously. And even those who use a nickname, like herself, are in fact anonymous.
Women saying that a woman must do not wear a mini dress? In what country? In Spain we do top-less on the beaches and Queen Sofía appeared even un a bikini, we have the freedom to do it...It seems that this country is more modern, what you say sounds as nuns and priests.
ReplyDeleteWomen must fight against this kind of things...in Spain we DO It.
Ohh woww... In Spain you do topless..
DeleteReally?? I thought you used burka!!
Women saying that a queen must dress like a queen.
DeleteAgain with the "Queen" concept, in Spain Alfonso XIII was sent to the exile and most people do not like a Monarchy, they are only "diplomatics" with a salary, nobody pays for their clothes so nobody can say anyrhing, and almost nobody follows them
Delete@23.36 if these people are only "diplomatic" what do they do on this site? Why are they called sovereign of SPain?
DeleteOh My! If the Equality Minister of Spain would hear this nonsense about showing legs , there would be even a strike in the country.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of people write here?
Queen Sofía has spent her holiday on a yacht so we have seen her in bikini too.
Please look up the term "reigning Queen". You are all wrong about this. The only reigning Queens in Europe are Queen Margrethe of Denmark and, of course, Queen Elizabeth of Greatbritain. All the others (Maxima, Mathilde coming to my mind, just to name a few), including Letizia, are Queen Consorts. They are spouses to a reigning King, or some other sort of Sovereign to a certain country. Nevertheless, the dress of Queen Letizia might indeed be a tad too short. But the Spanish Royals are known for a very casual approach to holiday garments, so they just go on and do as they've always done.
ReplyDeleteBravo and good for them. Viva España!
DeleteAwwww!! Virginia, is a good thing that we have you on this blog to teach us about what’s right and wrong, not to mention your psychology 101 comment about the competition with her daughters. You are so incredibly judgmental! Please take a chill pill

Dear CB, I suggest you read the comments of the readers of Vanitatis in Spain, this is just an example, and you will note that my opinions are shared by many Spaniards, the “subjects” of queen Letizia. Something to think about.
Delete🌞 Virginia
Virginia, Vanitatis is against the Monarchy, they do not like anything about them, also asking for a Referendum for a Republic, so the opinions Will be horrible always
DeleteCool! They are having much fun for sure. Lovely all of them.
ReplyDeleteStart revolution in Spain, because Queen wore short dress being on vacations and looked fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAva
@Virginia I have, and frankly have no desire to read such comments, as there are a few commenters with many different profiles, that insult the queen and her daughters, they use the most horrific profanity, the vulgarity doesn’t scare me, just revolts me..
ReplyDeletePerhaps more your type of publication than mine.
I prefer this site.
CB
Where do you see horrific profanity? I just see different opinions regarding a queen outfit...
Delete-G-
It's a better queen by the clothes she wears? It's more affectionate queen by the clothes she wears? It's more "friendly" queen by the clothes she wears? It's simply more Queen for the clothes she wears? It's simply more queen by the size of her skirt?
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see a queen exactly as any other woman (as we can see in the same images), in this case, any other on their vacation time, on the beach, enjoying a night out just with the other family women, all dressing clothes they make them fell good and very suitable for each one.
*Kristhy
Totalmente de acuerdo.
DeleteThis thread Is going nuts because of the same person with all her absurd identities who is used to attack every royal woman under the sky.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to comment myself on Q.Letizia and her outfit but no, I don't intend to be dragged into some kind of mean conversation.
Thank you to all reasonable and open minded commenters on this blog who are not afraid to aknowledge that a beautiful woman Is just that, beautiful, no matter if she is married to a monarch.
Leave this BEAUTIFUL woman alone and if you cannot show yourselves the beauty she has , don't t blame her but blame yourselves and your mindless jealousy.
She Is on HOLIDAY in Maiorca, not in a cloister among sisters clad with tunics, is that clear enough?
And NO, she isn' t old in the least, people with mean minds are OLD and vulgar at the same time.
Stop it, please, even though I know I'm gonna be put myself at the stake only because I 'm saying the truth.
I don't care.
You have mentioned the word jealousy so many times in yr comments that its quite possible its you who suffer from that disease...
DeleteYou are right Anonymous 11/8 13.22.
DeleteShe/he is constantly attacking anonymous bloggers who give their opinion. She/he has been creating a person in her/his mind of which she/he thinks that is the person who is jealous of the royals, she/he is giving an answer to comments that are not addressed to her/him and she/he thinks she/he knows it best.
I really like all the sommary outfits here. Very nice dresses for the holiday dinner. Mini skirt is a perfect choice to anyone who looks good in it. -Siri

ReplyDelete@P the original, thank you for a reasonable and kind comment.
ReplyDeleteAs you can see the comment from anonymous @15:07 is the style that prevails on the publication recommended by Virginia ( vanitatis) I am old enough to not be scandalized very much, but when people that are borderline certifiable use a million of nicks to call the queen, witch, skeleton, commoner without class, crazy, and I can’t even say here all the other adjectives. Unfortunately they do the same with the minors, ugly, fat, non athletic, big nose, frog mouth, are just a few of those choices. So hopefully they don’t invade this thread.
CB
Dear CB,
Deletethank you.
You' ve perfectly oulined the way it goes not only with Q.Letizia but with almost any royal lady/child/ adolescent on this blog.
It seems that beauty is considered as a sort of curse by a certain blogger and all her circus of crazy identities blathering contrasting comments on the same thread.
I get one may be unsatisfied with their lives but nobody can pay for that, neither royal ladies nor peaceful commenters on social blogs.
Thank you again.

@G, perhaps you misunderstood Virginia’s comment, she recommended that we read the articles on the Spanish Magazine “ Vanitatis” , which is just an entertainment publication, but open to comments on most articles. The forum is a favorite of Anti- monarchists, and separatists, there is a few bloggers that use many different nicks in order to insult the Royal family, specially Letizia. The level is vulgar, profane, racist, homophobe, and particularly cruel, and fights and insults between bloggers is the norm. After reading some comments, one realizes how abusive people can be. There is hardly any moderation, I guess the higher number of comments benefits the magazine.
