  1. Tout à fait d'accord pour cette robe qui lui va à merveille mais bof pour les chaussures que j'aurais bien vues comme celles du mannequin mais plutôt de couleur noire unie !

  2. The shoes raise questions ... heeled shoes would be better in my view; teenagers, if any around, might prefer the shoes worn by Lady Amelia. I think those worn by the model are ok.

    1. The dress is O.K. Simple and fitting for the occasion.
The shoes she is wearing are known by the popular title of “beetle crushers”
They constantly come in and go out of fashion.
With jeans or very informal attire, they could be fun.
If I were a bug or beetle, I’d scream and run for cover if I saw those shoes coming at me.
Whilst on the very important fashion subject of funky shoes, I’d go one step further (pun not intended) and call the shoes that we saw Princess Delphine wearing the other day as “nutcrackers”.

  3. I have learned that some british media make a lot of fuss about her, how beautiful she is and something like that. I don't know why. Without make-up she is not more than average.

I agree with you and I think the shoes and socks are hideous no matter what age you are.

The British media has been trying for ages to make this young woman happen as The Next Big Thing. The problem is, as you have stated, that she is indeed quite average. Her face is okay but she is short, with questionable fashion sense.

Being short is cause to be a social reject? What would your opinions be about Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II? At barely 5' and 5' 3" respectively, Lady Amelia stands much taller at 5' 6". It sounds like there are a lot of bitter hens in need of someone to put down and Lady Amelia is the new chosen one. Short indeed.

"Social reject" Anon 6:40? Of course not, but average and below average height women are not usually considered ideal for modelling. I am not a bitter hen(At 5'11" inches why would I be?)
Unless you are this girl's mother or family member you are overreacting LOL.

17/8/22 19:16 "Her face is okay but she is short..." What does that mean? What was the point of mentioning that? If you knew anything about modelling, you would know there are different types of models. Not all models have to be exceptionally tall. Print models, for instance, don't have the same height requirements. There was also no mention of her modelling in that comment, just drivel about her being short, "average", and lacking fashion sense. Do you notice her similarity to the model in the ad for the dress? It would seem that professionals in the fashion world disagree with you. And you and several people here sound do bitter. You don't know her. Why judge her so harshly? Save your judgements for queens that are double her age that can well afford to dress properly and have an obligation to present themselves well yet choose to waste money on ill-fitting clothes that are not tailored to their bodies or well suited to them. Why go so hard on the easy target when you don't even understand this style? Let her be young.

Anon: 19/8/22 05:19 Other posters have commented on this young woman's "greasy" hair and have referred to her as entitled and insipid. I have not singled out her personal characteristics because indeed, I don't know her. I stuck to comments pertaining to fashion and appearance because that's what this Blog is for. Or at least I thought.

Insipid, greasy and entitled spake the others. But you have chosen to fight on MY hill because I called her short and average? Whatever. My opinion stands.

    7. Oh come on Anon18/8/22 06:40 Let us bitter hens have a good pick around. It can help to make our day, you know.
But I’d be happy if you left out the word ‘bitter’.
Anyway, a lot of our favourite targets are away on holiday - e.g Queen Maxima.
If it wasn’t for NewMyRoyals and the fodder they feed to their faithful hens, I’d be spending most of my time in the kitchen doing hot meals (with veggies) for my hubby.
And thanks a lot for leaving out the word ‘OLD’ when you talk about hens.
Any idea when Queen Maxima will be back?

Same thoughts as Tulipe. The dress looked great until I got to the shoes which are just ugly. Totally spoils the outfit ( however edgy the look might be)

Unkempt, thin hair like Queen Maxima; shoes like a teenage girl that tries too hard to be different / cool. Score: zero.

how is this woman relevant? Slow news day? btw, the red shoes and this girls shoes are both ugly as are the socks. I know the royals are on vacation, but this is not worthy of this blog. Janelle

  10. Oh! dear! she must have some very hot feet in this weather. I take it she had a long hike to the revenue seeing the type of shoes and bag required. At least the dress must have been relatively cool as well as quite pretty on that long walk.

Based on these comments, this is more proof of how horrible it would be to be a British royal. She is a beautiful young lady that apparently can't wear anything trendy or fun like other ladies her age because of who her family is or she will be denounced for dressing below her station by people who have forgotten what it is like to be young. Be honest ladies, if you hadn't gotten so caught up on her shoes, you would have been appalled by the length of the slit in her dress. Consider the event. She looks just fine.

@Lady Amelia or not, I don't like this type of shoes together with a dress or skirt. With jeans O.K. On top of that the sock on her right foot is not OK. The elastic part around the ankle is damaged. If you compare the model and her, I prefer the model.

Oh dear--I think she's regarded as some sort of fashionista or influencer or something along those lines. But, in this instance--no way! Cute and simple dress--but those shoes are a horror with the dress. I can see their appeal to teens--wearing jeans or the like--but I think Lady Amelia might want to revise her fashion sense to more resemble the model.

Amelia's dress looks nice not sure about the jack boots;(the boots are heavy to walk in) what was she thinking. A nice thick gold Medieval belt with this dress would have topped it off well. House of the Dragon; when there is so much rich factual historical information; is a bit of a nothing.(Tabby)

  16. Unfortunately the shoes and socks spoil the overall presentation. Regardless Lady Amelia, is comfortable in her choice and she looks lovely, natural.

I feel there is a simple reason why Lady Amelia wore these somewhat odd footwear and socks to the Premiere.
She may have wanted to recreate what it seems to be a popular Gothic look among youngsters.
She could have worn ankle boots or heeled boots but they were probably too heavy to a summer event.
About the hair: a blow dry or any other elaborate hairstyle would have been not appropriate.
She was almost surely wearing some oily conditioning lotion to keep her hair in place and straight.
Her height: she Is short to be a model but not so short in general and this does not affect her inner valute in the least.
Nevertheless, I do not see any reason whatever why she should be belittled or torna to pieces to this extent.

  18. It was useful for me to read about the "basics", particularly why it is published about her on this blog. Maybe others might be interested as well. Lady Amelia Windsor (born 24 August 1995) is a British fashion model and a relative of the British royal family. She is currently 43rd in the line of succession to the British throne, as of June 2022. Her paternal grandfather, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent,is a first cousin of Elizabeth II. Her paternal great grandparents were Prince George, Duke of Kent, and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, a granddaughter of George I of Greece and first cousin of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
This is not so far away from fashion since she is a model.

The black dress is fine but not exactly special—have seen versions many times before. The shoes and socks are dreadful and make her look dumpy when she is not. Otherwise, I just am a bit concerned because of the dark circles under her eyes and overall tired affect. She just doesn’t look well.

I quite like her choice of shoes. While not the typical old-school pointy stilettos, they complement the dress well (and actually the Telegraph Fashion section had a feature just yesterday about colourful socks worn with the horsebit loafer shoes as a good choice at any age!). Amanda’s personality is such that she isn’t always a crowd pleaser - but while a royal descendent, she is so far down the succession line, that she can express herself differently.

Interesting that when we see a member of the (extended) BRF dressing like a young person there is criticism and when we see Lady Louise dressing like a grandmother (supposedly) there is criticism. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  23. Have just read that researchers at the University of Kansas in the U.S. say that
you can judge 90 percent of a person's personality by simply looking at their shoes, Research carried out in 2012.
