The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are making a 3-day visit to southwestern England on the occasion of the Prince of Wales' 70th year as the Duke of Cornwall. On the first day of their annual visit to the south west, on July 18, the Duke and Duchess visited the fishing village of Mousehole and Newlyn Harbour in Penzance. South West England is one of the nine official regions of England.

The first photo looks lovely walking down the lane through the flowers. The royals look good and summery.(Tara)

Like the pale day dress which fits perfectly but the beige shoes from the evening would have been better. The pattern in the green dress is lovely but I don’t think the long tiered skirt is the best look for the Duchess. Kudos to Prince Charles for managing to wear a suit in the heat yesterday and still look cool ( as in not warm!). AnnieM

Camilla's light blue dress look like it is made of stiff cotton. The cut is the same as almost all her other dresses. I found the green dress, of which I like the color, too long when I saw it the first time and I still do. I'm getting uncomfortable when looking at the pictures. How can she wear these clothes in such a heat. She'd better had worn her white flare pants with the white kaftan tunica, she wears sometimes at evening receptions when they are visiting other countries. More adapted to the t° these days. Prince Charles is wearing one of his shapeless summer suits. He could wear a linen blazer and a white chino and less ridiculous sun glasses.

    1. It might be that the fabric of her light blue dress is some sort of fustian, woven with a cotton weft and a linen warp. It's ideal material for hot summer days.

I wear linen myself when it is hot but the shape of my clothes is quite different than what Camilla wears.

How pretty and summery the Duchess looks--I love both dresses! I heard it was a scorchingly hot day but she is managing to look fresh and cool. Must say I love how she uses a parasol to keep the sun off her--her parasol is elegant and I would love to know more about it (maybe its an antique). I think the Prince of Wales looks quite dapper in his summer suit.

With such terribly high temperatures, these two elderly people really should be where it is cooler. It is just as dangerous for them as for other old people. The duchess looks very uncomfortable - and she is 75.

    1. EEEK! we are not elderly at 75 spring chicken of Anonymous 19/7/22 19:37. It is in the eye of the beholder this judgement. Just because we are grey and wrinkly does not mean we think we are elderly. Our eyesite is also a bit grey and wrinkly at 75 so we can't see this elderly in the mirror.

@ Nalerina. Well I am 75 myself and anon. 19/7 23.57 is right. With these t°, even younger people, should stay out of the sun and the heat according to the advice of the government health services and the weather forecast in my country. When I was in my 30-tees, during the holidays in the south of France, I became ill because of the heat and I had not being in the sun. The doctors there said the same, when the weather conditions are extremely hot, during the day better stay as much as possible in cooler rooms with air conditioning and go out early in the morning and late at night.

Yes but it is their job. Never complain, never explain.

@deadeggs. When they become sick like so many people do of extremely hot weather conditions, they cannot do their "job" either. There is nothing that cannot be postponed just like with covid.
