Queen Sofia of Spain attended a concert of the UNESCO World Heritage Cities Group at the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca. This extraordinary concert of the IX Cycle of Chamber Music was given as part of the concerts that take place in the World Heritage Cities, as a tour in autumn at singular spaces of the 15 Spanish cities having the UNESCO seal.
This concert kicked off the program of events for the Assembly of Mayors that is being held this Saturday in the Charra capital, on the occasion of the Group's presidency by the Mayor of Salamanca. On July 2, the Assembly of the Group of World Heritage Cities of Spain, the highest governing body of the entity, will be held. During 2022, the Heritage Cities Group is chaired by the Mayor of Salamanca, Carlos García Carbayo.
Oh Queen Sofia, what were you thinking, this outfit is horrible, a simple solid colour pant suit, white for example would have been sooo much better.

I don’t love this: the color, the shape, the print… It eats her and drags all color from her face…
ReplyDeleteJe garderais bien cette jolie veste à porter sur un pantalon de couleur blanc-cassé aux jambes moins larges !
ReplyDeleteOh no Queen Sofia, wearing different prints together even if they are both black and white is not done. It is not very beautiful. The blazer together with plain black trousers would have been O.K. She did the same on June 22 but then it was a red printed jacket over another red printed dress. I don't know why she is doing that, she was always well dressed before.
ReplyDeleteI agree - this is not good. The jacket seems to fit her well but it is very quirky. It would have needed a very simple sleek outfit in a solid colour to go with it. Instead, she´s wearing a busy blouse and those horrid trousers. Dizzying. The mix of non-colours makes it look drab as well. And suited for july? Hardly.
ReplyDeleteWhat happen, this outfit Q Sofia is wearing is terrible say it mildly. josebabe
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I cannot understand what Queen Sofia, usually such an elegant lady, was thinking here. Two too busy patterns in what appears to be brocade or at least a heavy silk--in July, in Spain. If only she had exchanged one the busy pieces for a solid black piece. If she decided to keep the trousers I would want to see them a bit more tailored as they are too large for her. If she had selected to keep the jacket because I really do not like at all. Tragically, if you look at the collar of the jacket you can see these 2 pieces were made to be worn together--horrors!

@Janet. I think it is the collar of the blouse or jumpsuit she is wearing under the jacket that is fold over the collar of the jacket. Anyway, together it is not good at all. If she wanted to wear the trousers and blouse or the jumpsuit, a white blazer would have been nice. The trousers look large but that is the way they are worn today. She also could have worn the jacket with a cream jumpsuit or cream trousers and blouse and light beige or cream shoes and handbag. The whole look would have been brighter and more summery.
DeleteBut that black and white dress is very very good
ReplyDeleteWhich dress ?
DeleteGood black and white dress on the second picture, on the left
ReplyDeleteImo the all-over print pants are awful, but the jacket — really superb! It fits the wearer beautifully, the print is eye-catching without being too busy, and the light and dark values in the color scheme are brilliantly figure-flattering. Well-tailored black trousers would have hit this look out of the park ❤️ — Jane
