On July 14, 2022, The Imperial Household Agency released 5 photos taken in May and June at the Momijiyama Imperial Cocoonery which is located in the Imperial Palace. The photos show Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and their daughter Princess Aiko working on sericulture. Growing silkworms at the Imperial Palace is a traditional practice carried out by empresses since 1871.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to see Empress Masako. Like her blue outfit. She looks good in strong colors. josebabe

DeleteThis certainly looks like a labor intensive, time consuming process, but it does provide the most beautiful materials to make clothing! allie
