On July 21, 2022, Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako, Crown Prince Akishino (Fumihito), and Crown Princess Kiko visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Tokyo and worshipped on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Emperor Meiji's death that will be commemorated on July 30. Emperor Meiji (1852 - 1912), also called Meiji the Great or Meiji the Good, was the 122nd emperor of Japan according to the traditional order of succession.
Lovely but a little bit creepy too.
ReplyDeleteHaaaa!
DeleteYou said it, 11:16. And masks, gloves, etc, in Japan's heat & humidity (I've been there) - it's brutal. *Regina
DeletePas de changement notable pour cette visite du sanctuaire ; ces tenues sont toujours dans le même style de la tête aux pieds jusque dans l'éventail; petite touche rafraîchissante de couleur vert-menthe pour la princesse héritière Kiko !
ReplyDeleteThe Empress is very elegant and quite lovely but I do wish she was wearing a different style of hat. CP Kiko looks fabulous.

Elegant as always. josebabe
ReplyDeleteThe fashion is predictable but it's always a pleasure to see such exquisite tailoring and magnificent fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how Mako and Kei Komuro are doing. I really hope they are happy and everything is fine.
ReplyDeleteLike others, I’d love to see the Empress experiment a bit with different hat shapes. Otherwise both ladies look very nice. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteSo very boring, the same style in every event. They have to behave so strongly within this traditional protocol. As if Japan did not enter the 21st century.
ReplyDeleteThe Empress looks very traditional and elegant. CP Kiko looks lovely in this mint color gown (I think its that shade) elegant and formal.
ReplyDeleteIn this case, it’s not about fashion, but about tradition.
