On July 10, 2022, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George attended the Wimbledon men's singles final at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. The family watched the men's singles' final played between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios. Prince George attended his first Wimbledon. In her role as royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the Duchess presented the trophies at the end of the match.

Kate and William are dressed rather casual; so why is it that George is dressed like little lord Fauntleroy. He could have had nice chinos, white polo top and a sports jacket. Oh and oneday he will be king; so you need to have some small association to society.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteAgree! A little boy dressed like a 40y old... Ok that he will be a king, but let him be a child before.
Delete-G-
I thought the same !
DeleteIt's protocol in the royal box that men (and that applies to male children as soon as they are able to attend, too) have to wear suit and tie.
DeleteI don't think that William or Catherine are dressed casually -and George is complying with Club rules, and looking very smart. His outfit doesn't come anywhere near Little Lord Fauntleroy.
DeleteThanks, DSC. Was about to say the same thing. I think he looks great as he did when formally dressed at the relevant Jubilee celebrations. AnnieM
DeleteAs different as could be from yesterday’s dress. I prefer this one. The Duchess is so slim the peplum styling looks great on her. Not sure about the additional strip on the shoe. Reminds me of shoes my Granny wore! Lovely to see Prince George at his first Wimbledon and looking super smart. There’s a lovely clip of him holding the trophy
ReplyDeleteCongrats - having a Granny with style.Siv
DeleteShe looks great in beautiful dress .

Perfect from head to toe. That is all.

Indeed! MR
DeleteLove everything about the Duchess' outfit--especially her shoes!!! I love the 30's-40's vibe from the dress and it looks marvelous on her. Her simply styled hair and beautiful jewelry are also perfect for the outfit and the occasion. Prince George is quite the handsome young man in his suit--and it is obvious he is having a wonderful time at his first Wimbledom match. Not to leave out Prince William--he is also looking very handsome and relaxed, enjoying his time with wife and eldest child at the men's singles final.

Love this dress, it has a lovely retro vibe, and the sort of peplum top gives her great volume around the upper hips. Perfectly combined with shoes to die for.

I agree. The shoes are the perfect finishing touch. (V.M.)
DeleteHave to agree, and the shoes are everything!

ReplyDeleteD. Catherine looks lovely, I just love her shoes. P. William & P. George looks so handsome. ~MS~
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess wears this dress well, she has the height to carry it off so elegantly. The Sapphire earrings and necklace are a lovely touch. Prince George looked lovely, bless him, he carried himself so well, his parents are doing a fine job raising him. He has such a wonderful smile, it lights up his face.
ReplyDeleteAgain a dress with polka dots and on top of that shoulder paddings which make her shoulders too large and a peplum. Didn't know it is fashion again. I only see Catherine wearing this style. The shoes makes me think of the year 1920 (Charleston). George is dressed up like an adult who is on his way to a very important family reception like a marriage f.ex. There are such nice clothes for young children these days, why wearing a pant suit and a tie already. At least William is wearing a linen blazer (I think), which looks better to go to a tennis match. Their outfits are so predictable, try something new and the rest of the spectators who are surrounding them in the royal box will follow their example. Time for some changes.
ReplyDeleteThe people in the Royal Box are not copying the royals! They are complying with the rules of the All England Club as are William, Catherine and George.
DeleteAs for only Catherine wearing that style Tatiana Casiraghi wore the same dress in Italy so she isn't on her own with this style.
Could not disagree more. He looked perfect for the occasion. Given that the dress code is formal I would suggest that Prince William could have managed a suit.

DeleteYou are right. But if you show up in polka dots on different occasions during the same season, you must not be surprised of the reactions.
I believe she orders the dresses by half a dozen at Alessandra Rich's.
kate has grown old too fast, she needs fashion that will make her younger but this polka trend is not doing her any favours!!
ReplyDeletePerhaps she is unconcerned with this current trend for having to look younger.
DeleteAnother polka dots. If she likes them so much she could use the ones she already has. In these days when sustainability is something we all should work for.
ReplyDeleteThe shoes are the poor combination with this dress. -Siri
Lots of comments with this dress and others she gas been wearing lately with a dot print fabric.
DeleteAs I said in an earlier post a couple of days ago, maybe the Duchess is going dotty :-)
Agree !!
DeleteCatherine, William, and George are dressed nicely for the 'rules' of the Royal Box, which if you look, everyone else is complying with the rules, even though for the English it was a hot day, those in other countries are used to the higher temperatures. The polka dot dress is lovely, not a fan of the cap toe shoes, and William and George look handsome as usual.
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks great on Duchess Catherine, it makes her presence stand out very well. Very much with herself and willing to take benevolent part. The Prince is a bit wrinkled and therefore has room for development. Prince George is a beautiful boy and yes he has a particularly nice smile, like Diana and like Harry.
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess is georgous as ever
ReplyDeleteKate looks smart elegant gorgeous &, the dress is appropriate live her hair. Mary
ReplyDeleteJe pense que le prince Georges pourrait avoir une tenue vestimentaire plus relaxe à son âge ! Il a le temps de porter costume cravate !
ReplyDeleteNot in the Royal Box at Wimbledon he can't. I really don't see what is wrong with children learning that different occasions require different clothing. I highly doubt he spends his time playing with siblings and friends in a suit.
DeleteTotally agree with you: in 2022 its time to change these old rules of the so called Royal Box, kids will learn all the same how to dress on different occasions, they ll do it when they are grown up enough.
DeleteIt isn't the so called Royal Box, it is the Royal Box - the rules are just fine and George looks fine. Some people just like to criticise...
DeleteYes, some people like to criticize and you are not different from them.
